Nine positions and ten points separate our teams this week. Tottenham take on Chelsea at home having recently featured in that other London derby. A dismantling of West Ham was followed by a narrow 1-0 victory over Goat Herders FC last night. Spurs are bound to be exhausted and that'll suit Chelsea just fine. They beat Norwich on Saturday and put four past one of the Israeli sides, so is it safe to assume they are back to their best? Whatever happens, it should be a good game. This week we will place bets on half time and full time results. Bet odds taken from bet365. Best of luck.
15:00 kick-off time unless stated otherwise.

I've watched the full second half of Levante v Betis and some of the play acting has been hilarious. One bloke leapt back into play with his hands behind his back and then started rolling around with nobody near him.
Pepe Mel, one of the great Premier League managers, donning it with Betis.
Feels quite likely that we'll finally lose tomorrow. We have 4 draws and a win from our last 5, which is mid table-ish form.
On the other hand we could go top. :groove:
Hopefully we'll put ourselves four points clear of United tomorrow. We won't, obviously.
I can't wait for the match, for so many reasons. Even without being where we are and Vardy doing what he's doing this will always be the glamour fixture for me, simply because of how dominant they've been for most of my football watching life.

After last week's 'performance' against Leicester, Steve McClaren ripped into a fair few of the players (Coloccini, Sissoko and Mitrovic have been named as three of them) on Monday, so it'll be interesting to see what effect that has.
I hope we use Big Sam's tactics from Monday to pick Palace off - they simply didn't know what to do around the box when there was no space to run into.

United to win 3-1.
United will win. I don't think most Leicester fans have any expectation of a top six finish let alone anything else. To not finish top half would be a disappointment now, I suppose.

Where'd Hull finish? They didn't win a game after Christmas and they survived.
16th or 17th. I think I read we'd need relegation form to not finish top ten from here, which is still possible of course. But what we've been good at this season is beating the shit which is what you need to do to stay up comfortably. We're a very decent side, certainly good enough not to be involved in a relegation struggle which is a novelty supporting Leicester in the top flight.

We've dropped Mitrovic this afternoon, replacing him with Cissé, and Colback has risen from underneath Cattermole's studs.
Elliot; Janmaat, Coloccini, Mbemba, Dummett; Colback, Anita; Sissoko, Perez, Wijnaldum; Cissé.
Hennessey; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; McArthur, Cabaye; Zaha, Puncheon, Bolasie; Wickham.

We would have finished top half last season if Pearson hadn't spent the majority of the season playing so negatively. I alays thought we were a good side, even when we were bottom. For instance, the Drinkwater we've seen this season is the player most Leicester fans thought he'd be last season. Unfortunately Pearson mismanaged the players until about March, when we had nothing to lose. The approach at Villa in the cup still pisses me off.
And on that note I'm off early to make time for the 'extra security measures' we're being subjected to this evening. I promose not to come back moaning after our 0-6 defeat.

That Leicester lineup isn't a million miles away from the way Ranieri used to line us up in 01/02, although Hasselbaink didn't quite do the yards that Vardy does, and Wes Morgan for Marcel Desailly isn't particularly like-for-like either.
We're top of the league! Good game today.
I got to our game early too, Lee. They advised us to get there half an hour earlier than usual, quick pat down on entry and we were in after about 10 seconds longer than usual.
Is that Man United lineup 352 like How thought it would be? Otherwise the Carrick-Schweinsteiger combination looks a risk against a high tempo team.

Bizarrely, I thought we gave them too much respect in the second half. Slightly disappointed not to have won, but rationally that's a great result.
Schmeichel should have come for the ball for their goal and we have to stop allowing free headers at corners. I counted three in the first half. Ulloa should have won us the game.

Everything was slow and mostly sideways and backwards. Our defence is shit as well; a side with players better than us could cut us open with a positive approach. Arsenal did. No pace anywhere either. I only felt worried when we gave away set pieces and it speaks volumes that I'm disappointed with a draw.

If Big Sam can keep Sunderland in the Premiership this could be his biggest achievement - he could build something incredibly positive at Sunderland as well. Would be nice to see Newclasstle fans weep a bit more.
He'll keep them up and keep them comfortable until he goes. Eventually the fans will start moaning about "style" and the board will start to believe that "it's time to push on to the next level" so he'll be sacked and Sunderland will go down.

What's this bit in reference to?
My view is simple: David Moyes deserves to have the same period of time that every Manchester United manager has had.
I don't care what Chelsea or Real Madrid do in sacking their managers after winning trophies. Manchester United should be different and stay true to their values. And even if United didn't qualify for the Champions League, which would be a huge disappointment, I would maintain that view.
People may say: 'That's rubbish. United were champions last year and they can't not be in the Champions League. This is 2013 not 1985.' Well, I'm sorry, but for me Manchester United are timeless.
As a club they stand against the immediacy of modern life. And there is nothing to suggest that the Glazer family will not uphold those same values.

Cov looked excellent at times today, though lost their way a bit in the second half. They were desperate for a couple of subs to change things up and I'm pretty sure they didn't make any. Seeing Cov play lots of nice passing football as well as conceding 2 very sloppy goals meant I got the full Mowbray experience for a very reasonable Ł20.

The team and setup is just absolute shit. It's only going to get worse when the club reinvests in January. Spending a shit load of money when you're a shit club is a load of balls, imagine what it's going to be like after next season with all that new money. There are some good players there, no doubt about it, but hardly any of those players give a shit about the club, they knew when they signed that they were moving for a pay rise and exposure in the BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD, before they are sold on a few years later. The whole team as a result is fairweather as fuck, especially as there's no leadership on or off the pitch to pull them together, just a bunch of 'should be better' wankers dreaming of bigger clubs, rather than trying to make this one better. None of them ever look like they're actually enjoying playing football.
Sell them all, steal Graham Carr's passport, and spend every penny we make on the fuckers on bringing back Andy Carroll and smash some cunts in the Championship.
And most of all, fuck off Ashley.

Jonny's ours though.
Should they be better Sama? I hear it all the time; we are where we belong and should be fighting it out at the bottom, yet Newcastle are underachieving. Yesterday we had Defoe and Fletcher starting with Borini, Johnson and Lens all on the bench. That's some pretty decent attacking options, not to mention Watmore who was first choice sub ahead of the others. We've also got M'Vila who is possibly the best midfielder I've seen for us. As far as I can see, Newcastle have Sissoko who I highly rate (though many don't), Wijnaldum looks good but is still settling in, and I think Perez is good too. After that I'm struggling a bit. Janmaat's good going forward, Mitrovic has potential but player for player are you that much better than we are?
Jimmy Floyd
29-11-2015, 09:49 AM
Aren't they all signed specifically for that purpose though? To sell on.
I don't see the point of what Ashley's doing, nobody has ever made money out of a football club surely. Add the massive TV deal coming in and any fucker will be able to pay people whatever they like, negating any clever-clever transfer strategies.
Samadini
29-11-2015, 10:10 AM
Yeah that's what I'm saying, Jim. The fact that everyone involved knows that they're being bought for that purpose just means no one really gives a fuck and the managers are stuck in a hopeless position, regardless of how good or bad they are themselves.
Scouse, I'm not arguing that, as I said, there are some good players, but yes there's a lot of shit and yes they're a team that should be struggling at the bottom. Where I think they should be better is in giving a fuck when things aren't going their way. There's no guts at all about them, if you get them down its game over and they've been getting spit roasted for ages now and it's fucking annoying to watch. Regularly losing, as I'm sure you'll know too, is something you get used to and are able to accept, but hiding for 90 minutes every Saturday until you get sold is shite and seeing the majority of the team doing it is boring as fuck now. I know it's easy to use the "haha deluded Newcastle fans with crazy expectations" line but it's not that at all, unless expecting players to forget just for 90 minutes a week that they'd rather be somewhere else is too much to ask.

I think we're both shit for different reasons. We sign supposed has-beens, bench warmers, players who generally aren't that rated and therefore stay in around the same position, and expect to. You sign players from foreign countries like Holland and France who are supposedly the next big thing (for want of a better term) but turn out to be average or pretty shit, with the odd exception who is capable of going on to better things.
You're probably more ambitious, but with it comes the delusion from some (not you or other mags on here) that you should be better than you actually are.

City would be 100 points clear if Aguero wasn't made of glass. Silva's just about to come back though so they should have enough to stomp most people.
All those above us bar City dropped points, six off top with Newcastle, West Brom, Watford and Leicester up next so the chance is there to get involved at least. With the exception of Leicester we've already played the top five away as well as Goodison and Stamford Bridge. Anfield could be rocking. :cool:When you put it like that..... Made the right decision yesterday by the look of it. My brother was there and just text me 'wank' about midway through the second half so was pleasantly surprised in the end to see we got a point out of it. By all accounts the game should have been done and dusted by the time they equalised though, so it looks like we're properly slipping back into the wonder years.
