Pretty much everything is good and I never remember any of the dish names between visits, so if you just go for your favoured level of spice and principal ingredient, you can't really go wrong.

The menus don't help.

"Gai Ma Maung - Stirfried Chicken with Cashew Nuts"

Right, with what? Is there a sauce? Is it a cashew based sauce? I'm having to google every dish.

Looks promising, but how spicy is it? I like spice, but I know Thai can be excessively spicy at times.

Josh, when things get better, you need to check out Talad Wat at 50th and 9th. $22 for two curries, rice, and a plate of greens. It’s the best deal in the city.

(Don’t look at the menu now; they’ve changed it to takeaway-only)

It was great. It all was. Pad Thai is over-rated though.

The star of the show was a free dish they sent us. It was beef in a red, and very fiery, sauce with a tonne of onions and bean sprouts.

Having Pad Thai from some 75-year-old hawker uncle in a random Bangkok back alley, fresh from the wok and with oil of questionable origin, is the proper way to enjoy the dish. Definitely translates poorly to takeaway.

I think my favourite Thai noodle dish is a toss-up between boat noodles and khao soi.

EDIT: Speaking of...for the Sydneysiders among us, Yok Yor on Castlereagh, just around the corner from the Surry Hills Hotel, does cracking boat noodles.

I'm finding food in this lockdown impossible. I am by definition and government mandate not as active as I generally would be, which means I have to eat less, but at the same time having a decent meal in the evening is one of the few things which doesn't involve abject misery. I also have to eat well at lunch (usually a bagel, an apple and a chocolate bar or something) or there isn't a prayer I complete the workday, either physically or mentally.

As such I've currently resorted to having chicken salads with various marinades/flavours put on the chicken for interest, because anything I actually want to eat is just going to make me fat(ter).

I have the solution if you feel guilty for being a disgusting meat-eater. Greek yoghurt with whatever fruit toppings you like (banana and blueberries come recommended), seeds for texture (hemp, linseed, goji, sunflower, chia, pumpkin) and one of honey or peanut butter as a sweetener.

I was led down this path due to the great COVID milk shortage of spring 2020 and let me tell you, there's no looking back any more. 1500 calories can be had with none of the bloatedness that cereal gives you and it's piss-easy to make and transport.

I feel so strongly about it I'm giving serious thought into taking advantage of the broken high-street once this is over and getting it franchised cause it's a game-changer.

Seeds and nuts for breakfast is sound advice. I find the extra fats in the morning really helps with hunger. Protein and fats in the morning works wonders for me.

My go to when I'm trying to be healthy is one of three things, over night oats with seeds and protein powder, 4 eggs with extra egg whites or greek yogurt mixed with protein powder and whatever toppings.

Eat breakfast at 7 and then full till lunch.

@Jimmy and whoever else: my top tip for making porridge is to chuck a handful of All Bran on top of your porridge before you cook it. Turns into a lovely rich brown colour as the All Bran breaks down. Add seeds (yes, Taz ), drizzle of honey, sultanas, etc. as desired. So filling.

And man does it keep you regular...

Without wanting to disappear down the spaghetti show-off wormhole, what sort of flour did you use?

You need high protein 00 (ideally something like Caputo) and use a breadmaker to make the dough if you have one. Pizza peels, expensive home pizza ovens or heavy things you put in your oven are all well and good but not really necessary imo.

Yeah, I only had plain flour so that might be part of the problem. There are recipes out there for plain flour though but maybe that is just how they turn out. I don't have a breadmaker, no.

Might try again later in the week with longer kneading and a longer proving time.

I only said breadmaker as something to mix the dough for you, so I guess any sort of mixer would do, although the breadmaker adds the yeast etc without you needing to activate it in warm water and other shit which always pissed me off. No massive sticky mess either. It's probably not worth getting one just to make dough, although, once you have one, you'll find after a while that making dough is the only thing you use it for.

This flour is great (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-Farina-Molino-Caputo-Pizzeria-by-Pizza-Napoli-Pizza-Flour-Pizza-Flour-1kg/153545409125?hash=item23c0050265:g:I1YAAOSw2x1dFis z)

Some dead bitch at work attended some sourdough course (lolololol) and started dishing out 'starters' at work as if they were some fucking gift she was bestowing upon us. I obviously took a dose [for the same reason I throw those crying laughter emojis about in the work chat] and flushed it down the toilet as soon as I got home.

I appreciate a decent sourdough sandwich but die in a fire if you start dedicating your life to it like the twats.

On 13 December 2016, Touré pleaded guilty to drunk driving. He was arrested by police on 28 November after being pulled over and found to be more than twice over the legal driving limit. Touré said he had not "intentionally consumed alcohol", explaining to the court he had consumed diet cola from a jug at a party without realising there was brandy in it.He conceded that his drink tasted "odd" and that he felt tired after consuming it, but did not suspect he was drunk. Judge Gary Lucy said it was "inconceivable" that he was unaware that he was drinking alcohol. Touré was banned from driving for 18 months, and was fined £54,000 – at the time the largest fine for drink driving in British legal history.
