This week we will give English football a rest and focus our efforts on the Real/Barca match. We will bet using something called Double Chance, which gives you a bigger chance to win but unfortunately the amount you win will be tiny. Bet odds taken from bet365. Best of luck.

15:00 kick-off time unless stated otherwise.

We should win tomorrow. That might be the first time I've said that this season so I'm bound to have jinxed it now.

I'll be watching Hinckley vs Leicester Road in the cold. Big game.. LR were formed by the directors who sent Hinckley United bust and play at their 4,500ish capacity stadium in the town. Hinckley, who are the community-owned successor club to United, are playing in the village of Heather which is twelve miles away. There is significant bad blood here. LR are having a better season than Hinckley, having been promoted last year, so it would be nice to see them brought down a peg or two.

Jimmy Floyd

Who in that scenario would continue supporting 'Leicester Road'?

Who in that scenario would continue supporting 'Leicester Road'?

Only a few have, mostly people who were involved with the Hinckley United youth teams as they've stayed at the old place because of the better facilities.

Hinckley are getting just under 200 for home games (I've seen 300 for big cup games - brilliant how much cups mean at this level) whilst Leicester Road get up to 150. They have the advantage of being a better side in a nicer ground inside the town boundary. I agree with you though.

The shit name, incidentally, is because that's where the ground is.

Fuck el Clasico, Juve-Milan is where it's at.

I'm at Watford tomorrow. New ground to tick off the list but I've got a feeling that Troy Deeney is going to bag a brace and make us look daft. Especially as we have no strikers.

There's a ridiculous amount of good sport on telly this weekend, with the bunch of big football games along with the tennis semis and final.

Biggest match of them all is 3rd v 2nd on Sunday. I think we'll add to our growing collection of draws, Hull will win and go 2 points clear.

Benny
20-11-2015, 07:45 PM
Pikeys on Sunday, all it takes is a couple of shit England games to make you realise how much you miss club football.

Pleb
20-11-2015, 07:55 PM
The El Clasico will probably be a massive boredraw.

That being said I wouldn't mind a Liverpool thrashing from City.

Gomes; Nyom, Britos, Cathcart, Anya; Abdi, Watson, Capoue, Jurado; Deeney, Ighalo with a bench of Arlauskis, Aké, Paredes, Oulare, Guediora, Diamanti and Ibarbo.

Yep! It's gonna be one degree here by 7pm, and I'm in the perfect mood for sitting all day, consuming plenty of warm drinks and food, and club football back on.

Man United narrow Brazilian like 4222, it looks like. Interested to hear van Gaal explain why.

Did Memphis shin that? It looked like perfect technique until the last angle.

What a match I've just seen. Leicester Road were 2-0 up at half time and it looked pretty shit for Hinckley. Their keeper was sent off for an awful challenge with about 25 minutes left but one of Hinckley's best players skied the resulting penalty. Then Hinckley brought last season's captain on (he left last summer) for his first game back. He ran the game brilliantly from then on and Hinckley ended up winning 3-2, with the current captain scoring the winner (and his second) deep into injury time. Fantastic day. An attendance of 290 in the freezing cold as well.

And Leicester go top of the league with Vardy equalling the record.

Still, our hard run of games starts with United next week so it would be wise to make the most of this. I reckon I'll watch Liverpool-Man City rather than Real-Barcelona now, in the hope that Man City drop points and we end the weekend top. What a fucking sentence that is to write.

It took us until 18th April, after a 2-0 home win versus Swansea, to hit 28 points last season. We're pretty much guaranteed survival with four more wins before November is over. To be top at this stage is extraordinary. That said, we are only two points (and zero victories) better off than Southampton were at this stage last season so I'll not be getting carried away. I'm still firmly in the "top ten would be brilliant" bracket.

But, fucking hell, this is fun. The novelty of hosting Manchester United in a top two clash next Saturday is gong to be just delicious.

Swansea have been there or thereabouts when it comes to the Top 10 since they got promoted. I can't think of a year where they squeaked out of relegation.

If you look at Bony's scoring record, it was always the third in a 3-1 win. The amount of unimportant goals he scored there is quite incredible.

Michael Laudrup was sacked around the same time last year after seven bad results, he'd also had his best goal scorer sold from underneath him.

Except things don't work like that. They've probably overachieved finishing 8th last year and comfortably finishing midtable should be what they're looking at. Bony and Davies leaving was about 30m last season, I doubt their net is that high. Most other teams have spent money too and there's bound to be some kind of variation from season to season. Sacking him suggests they think they have some kind of right to finish top half, 14th is probably the lower end of 'par' for that club. Yeah, not sacking McCarthy soon enough was what caused Wolves to plummet through the divisions :uhoh:

Ironically it was, led to the appointment of Terry Connor when it was too late. Relegation one followed. Majority of the players he signed were on ridiculous 4 year contracts (Jamie O'Hara on Ł50k a week :happycry:), despite most downing tools once random foreigner (Solbakken) arrived, albeit he had his hands tied because the wage bill was full with Mick's men. Relegation two followed. The rest is history.

Most of it pre-dates not giving Mick the boot after the 2nd season, or that he'd won 2 in 27 games before he got sacked, in the middle of fucking February. Quicker actions and we'd have stayed up. Woe be any team that gives him some money, fantastic guy, passionate, but his glass ceiling is 4th from bottom.
