With the new forum comes new functionality comes new BBCodes.

MEDIA

Images will remain the same, a simple tag is all that's needed. However, we're looking into adding support for HTML5 Gifs such as .gifv, gyfcat and such therefore this tag is subject to change.

Video has changed. With support for more sites than youtube, the tag is now [ video ]. This supports most websites including Facebook (for a list of supported websites click the insert video button in the advanced reply section). Simply paste the whole URL within the video tags.

Example:

SOCIAL FUNCTIONS

With the new board we've added some extra functionality.

Some of you may be noticing a bar down in your bottom left that looks like this;

There are 3 functions that have been added

1) User Tagging

Tagging a user works similar to any social media site like Facebook or Twitter. Simply type @InsertUsernameHere in your post which will notify the user of your comment and link it through their activity feed.

2) Quote Notifications

Ever want to take a quick peek back to see whether the conversation you were having earlier has extended? Speed up the process by being notified that you've been quoted. If you don't wish to be notified, simply go to your Settings > Notifications and disable them.

At the moment there are a couple of services that do this. One would be GYFCAT (you'll recognise them by their weird URLs made up of random words)

To embed a gyfcat link here simply take the random word generated like www.gyfcat.com/ (http://www.gyfcat.com/)HilariousCoarseDrongo and but tags around it to get:

Then there's ImgUr's gifv service. To do this take the random assortment of numbers and letters like http://i.imgur.com/inc7SbI.gifv (or webm) and put tags around it to get:

My dab at the WhatsApp was very much a joke. A forum is whatever you contribute to it. Those sniping about how shit it is (still haven't understood this, disappeared for about 2 years and theres only a 5 or so member difference in the regulars) don't make anything better.

I would love to be spending my time updating this place (I haven't been able to quote people for over a month due to a bug on Chrome) and making this place feel active but frankly my job has to come first and spending your time doing a version of your job at home sucks.

I'm looking at getting a week or two off next January to work on TTH.

How short is the inactive logout timeout if you don't sign in with 'remember me' checked? It seems for about five minutes. Even when you are active actually, and dont check the 'remember me' option. It log's you out with the quickness.
