The pseudo-commentary going on in the chat is pretty good too.

The RUINED/SAVED-cycle is fun, but it's the unique moments that stand out.

Bob: "These types of branches are perfect for someone with a little twitch in their hand."

Chat: "HE KNOWS. :O TIMETRAVEL BOB."

and

Bob: "Everyone who paints is a nice person."

Chat: "HITLER?!?!"

This is so soothing and oddly addictive, I'm really going to miss it being on when it finally finishes.

I thought the Leigh Alexander piece on this was great.

I've already downloaded several series ages ago. Terrific sleeping material.

I instantly dismiss articles that have "Why <thing> is <thing>"

That's why you're called writers and not journalists.

Peep Show did it before it was a thing.

It definitely makes it.

They decided to make this a yearly thing, so it's on again.

I only started watching this a few months back and the responses in the chat are like clockwork.

First stroke on the canvas = RUINED
Van Dyke brown = triggered
White = hwite
Slaps brush to get paint thinner off = beat the devil / Bob 1-0 Devil
Large tree in foreground = ruined
Finishes and signs name = saved

They've had a years worth of practice, it's almost like a ritual now.

It's always disconcerting when you see a random new thread and look to see who made it... and it's you.
