I see they've now got one of the fellas from the UK version of Storage Wars on it too.

Wasn't Andy Tate the first 'celebrity' to come from it? He was massive (not MASSIVE) for a few months. He was funny though.

Well, that's an absolutely shocking line up. Sherwood might as well have stayed for this and Southampton.

No Gestede is pretty dreamy, Spurs have looked shit at defending crosses for a while now.

Betfair has a Harry Kane hat trick at 25/1. I've stuck a quid on.

Funnily enough, Gestede and Bunn are the only bench warmers I wouldn't start.

Why does Carlos Gil place in he team seem to coincide with them doing well and the moment they lose a game, he's gone?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been given a one-match stadium ban and a £40,000 fine by the Football Association.

The news caps a miserable day for Mourinho, who earlier learned he has been made the subject of an individual legal claim by former Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro arising from an incident on the opening day of the season.

That's about the strongest Spurs lineup they have, Son for Kane aside maybe. If they can't beat a managerless Villa then they may as well pack it up.

Mike Dean celebrating the Spurs opener really was quality.

Seems they probably can though.

Villa look so fucked, and in their situation, well, something about the French.

I might have to resign my Chelsea fan status if this continues. I've got limited new clubs to choose from to avoid being labelled a fickle glory hunter too. Might have to be Villa.

It wasn't 'quality' (it was a bit daft) but it wasn't worth losing your job over. Slap on the wrist and move on.

You could extend your shit/dull match watching to supporting the shittest/dullest football team. Who are the dullest team in England, d'ya reckon? Morcambe don't seem thrilling.

Cesc Fabregas in being sanctimonious arsehole shocker.

Couldn't help but think 'what a load of shit' in every single paragraph of that. Title winning Chelsea players suddenly decide they don't like the way they play football after having an extra long time on their jollies over the summer? Not for me.

Reg

The recruitment has surely played a massive part. They had a really poor summer window. Their (relative) struggle since Christmas obviously highlighted some flaws and hinted that they might struggle more this season.

Mourinho's judgement of some players has to be questioned as well. They made a huge error on De Bruyne.

Jimmy Floyd
02-11-2015, 11:15 PM
He's suggesting it'll be the first ever case of an entire playing squad, rather than the manager, being made the scapegoat for failure and got rid of.

It would be tremendous fun seeing it tried, so I for one hope he's right.

Oh and I still find it very difficult to rationalise anything else that has gone on until somebody gives me a satisfactory explanation for these two little words: Papy Djilobodji. Once we get past that, we can delve deeper.

Never a Mourinho player. Add him shagging Courtois's missus (or vice versa) and it was never going to be a goer.

Reg

I hadn't heard that.

I hate the "Mourinho player" stuff. He's not got a bad CV, the guy, but I can understand Fabregas' position (if the article above is to be believed). I can't imagine Hazard likes being restricted, and I definitely can't imagine they enjoy seeing players like Mata and De Bruyne being rejected.

Its more that twitter is that policed so any comment in jest can be picked up on. Here's a prime example:

Ah, the perfect storm of 'proper football men' (read morons) meeting the real world of employment law.

Still, at least the best manager Chelsea could ever have is blameless in all this and has't remotely contributed to whipping up this shitfest....

There's a secret golfer (or 'Secret Tour Pro') on twitter now. He uses his anonymity to great effect in moaning about how many long haul flights he has to get on, and praising certain sponsors and equipment manufacturers which are no doubt his. I have a pretty solid knowledge of the top 200-300 players in the world and based on the tweets he's posted from different locations I reckon if it's a golfer at all, there are a minimum of three of them sharing the account. It'll be the same deal for the Secret Footballer.

Nah, somebody is taking the piss, if you follow the links to the two official club pages they both say it's four years.

Jimmy Floyd

Which end of a distant decade his contract will expire in does little to address the question of why the English champions decided to pay £2.7 million to have him in their squad. If Jorge Mendes is his agent then it makes sense a la Bebe, but I can't see that being the case.

John

When that transfer came up on Football Weekly the French journo they had on, Laurens I think, just lolled. Apparently he's worth 'a quarter of a million euros'.

I checked that when they signed him, and Transfermarkt informed me he's the most valuable player his agency represents.

Maybe they have him wear a wig and pretend to be Didier.

Well if he keeps scoring then I wouldn't but he hasn't been wonderful on the whole this season. Hopefully he keeps up the recent run.

Still need to find a spot for Son though, he had looked really good. Maybe in place of Eriksen.

Benny
03-11-2015, 07:21 PM
Won't be Eriksen who's dropped out of those three, it'll be Lamela or Dembele I'd imagine, he's due an injury anyway so I doubt it'll take too long for him to be dropped.

Giggles
03-11-2015, 07:23 PM
Lamela has looked a lot better lately too. I'd forgot about Dembele though, few good games of late but he's hard to trust.

We already discussed John Terry slagging off Robbie Savage?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34709899

While Robbie Savage is an idiot I do find the achievements as a player = knowledge / right to speak thing tedious whenever it crops up as if there aren't a zillion managers who disprove the notion that the two are necessarily related.

Lewis
03-11-2015, 07:30 PM
Yeah, but he's just donned Robbie Savage in front of everybody. He's almost salvaged his reputation.
