There seems to be rumours of a coup on Twitter and apparently the president has banned the anti-austerity crowd there from forming a government even though they have a majority in parliament. But no major news websites seem to be covering it.

Breitbart's got something on it - http://www.breitbart.com/london/2015/10/24/president-bans-anti-euro-government-power-portugal/

...because The Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11949701/AEP-Eurozone-crosses-Rubicon-as-Portugals-anti-euro-Left-banned-from-power.html) has the story.

I didn't check there because they have an annoying 12 views a month then you have to pay thing. I checked the Guardian, the BBC and Al Jazeera but couldn't see anything.

They're covering it up so people don't see the real European Union.

Fuck all is going on. Coelho's coalition lost its majority but his party remains the largest after the election a few weeks back so he has been invited to form a government. He has ten days to do so but will fail because he doesn't have the votes. The Socialists will then be asked to form a government and they do have the votes to put together a coalition, which they will do. There is no coup.

Yeah, am I reading this wrong, or is it all manufactured OUTRAGE? If the rules say that the outright winner gets first dibs to form a government, then the President giving it large doesn't really matter.

People are intensely stupid when it comes to constitutional matters. See also Gordon Brown CLINGING ON in 2010 when he did the normal constitutional procedure.

"People" in that case being the right-wing media.
