...is a headline we could be seeing in the next few days.

What do you think the outcome will be?

I reckon they'll be charged with relegation (or 80pt deduction), appeal, it will take 6 months, and be changed to a $200m fine.

I think Michael Oliver will overturn it and give it to arsenal. Amrite Phonics °/

Of course there'll be a punitive fine and nothing more.

I don't think they can do that. Not with what Leicester, Forest and Everton have had in the last couple of years. A 115 point deficit at the start of next season, any remainder applies when they are promoted back to the Premier League.

I've flip flopped on this a million times as to what will happen to them at the minute I'm of the belief they will get away with it.

If they are found guilty their titles should be annulled(not given to anyone else there just shouldn't be a winner in those seasons), they should be relegated and realistically their owners should be made to sell. I highly doubt any of those happen though.

The universe needs trophy removals to give Mourinho that United title.

Whatever happens will be a political decision, not a sporting one. The UK can't afford to lose any INVESTMENT right now and they don't want to be pissing off that mob.

They're in a lose-lose situation whatever the outcome is. It'll also spawn many legal cases branching off from the decision too.

If City are chucked out and titles removed etc, they will bury it in legal action.

If they are not, I expect there will be several clubs insisting that they should be and more legal cases begin.

There is a kind of hollow victory for the premier league on offer though. If the decision is to come this season, they could dock City say, 40 points and issue a fine. City would still stay up. They would miss the Champions League for a season, but for them it would probably be worth it to keep their ill gotten gains. They've also had their worst year under Guardiola and wouldn't miss out on anything this year. I think the actual decision will be somewhere in this ballpark.

My guess is just enough points that will relegate them so they can win a few back via appeal and stay up. Premier League look like they've taken the hard decision when in reality they've bottled it.

I think they go down to the Championship and start their next Premier League season at a deficit. Qatar can sit a year out, surely. It's not like this is an overnight sting. They've had the best part of a year to prepare for the worst. If the Premier League let them weasel out of it, their whole process would be in tatters.

Any punishment will be financial and therefore pointless.

I'd like to see some creative punishments. Not allowed to wear the colour sky blue. Stadium must be renamed 'Shit Trafford' in all official comms for ten years. Only women and children allowed to attend games. Not allowed to mention Mike Summerbee or either of the Gallagher brothers ever again.

Rename the ground to Massive Road and refer to the club only as Man United's Naughty Neighbours.

Instead of playing Blue Moon they have to play Glory Glory Man Utd.

What if they just concede everything, take all the hits, probs get relegated one division, and then just get immediately promoted with a clean slate? Isn’t that what Juve did years back?

This is why they do things like 'regenerating east Manchester', by the way, so that they have you over a table when their criminality and corruption is revealed.
