Those prices make the permanent versions seems fairly worth it:

If you calculate the cheapest 87 is 26k + an 82 squad is 13k = ~40k per card would be a fair price, and this is 110k for the pair (going off the FUTbin prices). Not to mention that one of these could go up to 89, which are about 48k. Whether you'll get 99 games (not including friendlies) of Bundesliga players, I'm not sure though

It's probably a decent way of also ensuring you don't waste cards on random SBCs as well. Half the time I end up chucking an 85 squad into some card who sits on my bench for a month then gets put into something else. Going for every other promo/monthly opening is probably a good tactic.

People who have played this year, what's the verdict now the dust has settled on the new chemistry system?

I check in now and then to see what's going on in the game and it seems like they've done a good job allowing people to get a good team if they want to grind for it. However your very top players still seem as out of reach as ever.

Pros:
- Doesn't need proximity of players to work
- No penalty for less chem (zero = base stats)

Cons:
- Icons are basically pointless now (for chemistry purposes)
- Lack of managers in the game from obscure nations means it's really difficult to link in players like Davies or Salah without committing to club links

Overall I think it's mostly better than before, as having to have little triangles or players for chem was far more limiting, but it'd be so much better if they fixed the issues above

I've never played on PC before though I have been watching Nick28T who does. I'm not fond of him personally but appreciate he doesn't put money in like I like to play.

I remember him being something like 11 win-14 win type of WL finish player when he was on console but he went 19-1 last week with not the best team. Obviously there's likely to be more hacking type BS, but I'm not into taking it seriously.

I've never actually played a FUT cycle from the very beginning, I always tend to come in at varying degrees of lateness. I just want to get a feel for how it all works now before trying to smash the next version.

My return plan may well be short lived.

I plugged in my PS5 controller to my PC to see how easy it would be to set up and it literally is as easy as plugging it in. First hurdle passed. The Mrs made me buy Hogwarts Legacy for her birthday and it works on that(as with the rest of Steam tbf). Second hurdle done.

Lastly I went to Gamepass to try an EA title as they're linked. I expected here to find some compatibility issues. For me, it's slightly worse than it's been previously due to the continuing decline of the pack odds, but the biggest problem is it's just the same thing again, with the same players getting special cards, for about the 4th year in a row.

I actually like this version a bit more (gameplay-wise) but it's definitely been a bit tougher pack-wise to get much back. EA definitely pushing everything to be untradeable and therefore it just becomes a grind to unlock players, which is a bit boring

I'm convinced the design flaw in the gameplay is that they base it on players standard stats. Hence why the game usually feels pretty good when it comes out. As cards get all of the juice through the year the game copes less and less well.

No TOTS Cup this week so I played my first WL in forever. Using a full Ligue Un team for that bonus objectives was not idea. I played literally one other person doing it too.

I ended up getting to 12-6 and gave away the last two. Which was all well and good until I remembered I needed to win 13 to complete the Ligue Un objectives :face: probably should have called it before 1:30 am.

Ended up with decent picks:

All untradeable besides Saliba. Lewandoski, I also seem to end up with him leading the line in every Fifa. Modric is my favorite card. His outside of the boot, shots are unreal. Davies is good, but sometimes he is a little bit weak. I play the 433(5) with Lewa as a CF on balanced and Modric and Bellingham on get forward as CMs. Ive got two million coins now. Im hoping Henry gets another card, I can hopefully afford if he comes out. They recently released his SBC, but that card isnt great at all. They always disrespect him on FIFA, yet Ginola and Cantona have god tier cards and they both were levels below Henry.

Best packs were my very first Ligue 1 upgrade, which took ages to get to but had Samba as the face card and Nuno Mendes in behind and the actual best was the 85x5 from that dogshit super loan objective in milestones, which had Marquinhos, Ronaldo and three other high rated cards. My 84x25 from seasons objectives was absolute bilge.

Overall the trend I've been on since FIFA22 continues, I can only pack defenders and defensive midfielders and none of the good attacking based players. Looking forward to trying Okocha though who appeared last and saved the Hero pick from being a disaster.

Had a few packs left but needed to stop as I was running out of places to put 83 to 85 cards and the dupes were piling up.

Oh and I'm yet to get a TOTS from the 81/75 x 11, from La Liga or this.
