Just received this email (addressed to me and 152 other visible addresses), probably my favourite scam I've ever received. I love the idea that Charles would be sitting around administering this from a gmail account.

Congratulations you're among the list of people Queen Elizabeth || of England choose to award $5,000000 dollars as charity work ,
Due to brief illness before she passed away, we automatically stop work by send information to the list she gave us and started mourning our Queen with tears on 8/Sept/2022,
Unfortunately the son of Queen Elizabeth || of England Prince Charles have ordered us today to begin to send information to the list of people the Queen gave us before she passed away,
That he promised her mother he will finish the charity work she started before she passed away by giving out the money to the people in the list to help and support them financially, the fund's will be giving to those who contacted him before the burial of the Queen, kindly contact Prince Charles for more information about the funds

What did Trevor Sinclair do? He seems to be getting the sack from TalkSport for it.

Something about black and brown people not mourning her.

1568585897347530752

Don't worry, Trevor has since realised his comments were simply a by-product of poor mental health, which obviously absolves him of any actual culpability. He has since gone for a run to exercise his demons.

Or, an alternate take, has sobered up and is desperately playing damage control to avoid the P45 from Talk Sport, which is probably already in the post.

It's too much. They need to go.

They were doing so well keeping to themselves amidst all the shame of racism and paedophilia, that it was easy to just let them be, but this whole period has been a shambles. The BBC in particular.

Fuck me it's carnage round here. They have had to close off a load of roads round Sandringham as it has been too busy. Facebook and Instagram yesterday was just full of people posting about how they had been there. Fine if you want to go and pay your respects do it but why do you have to fucking post about it on social media.

Another thing as well why are companies so fucking desperate to get in on the act all changing their logo's to black just to make sure they aren't missing out. If they actually gave a shit I'd understand but they don't it's just want their marketing department have told them to do.

It's just people whipping up a story that doesn't exist. For the most part people have behaved perfectly normally on this one - Queen dies, people are slightly moved and some want to celebrate her life and pay respects - but that isn't particularly newsworthy so a NARRATIVE is needed.

Another awful aspect of modern life.

niko_cee
12-09-2022, 12:12 PM
The problem with those sort of thinkpieces is that they go on for too long to fill the space, so it just ends up being absolute wank even if the initial seed of an idea was decent or there was some humourous take to be had.

Also seems a bit off to be getting lectured on wokeness/being backward by the people of fucking Papua New Guinea. Don't they still <insert culturally insensitive comment here>?

Homebase, WH Smith, B&Q, Primark, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Argos, Ikea and Blue Diamond Garden Centres have all also said that they will close stores on the day.

I'm surprised at the supermarkets I thought they would be gagging to get open as soon as they thought they could. It's the right thing to do by the way pretty much everything should be shut on Monday even if I'm not massively into the Royals there is no reason to need everything to be open.

I used to live opposite a Tesco Extra many moons ago and the massive queue before store opening on Boxing Day was always good for a laugh. Some of them obviously just wanted those sweet sweet reduced selection boxes, but it also laid bare that there is a small section of society that actually can't deal with supermarkets being closed. Gammons that need their daily paper to shout at being the main representative.

We're hearing more from people queuing at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh to see the Queen's coffin before it is taken to Buckingham Palace later today.

Elizabeth, undeterred by the long wait time, has queued to see the Queen's coffin seven times now.

"It's beautiful when you enter into the cathedral. The atmosphere, the presence. There's something definitely divine there - it's beyond words. I feel deeply moved every time I go through," she tells BBC Breakfast.

"Every time I've gone back again and again because Queen Elizabeth II was irreplaceable and I wanted to pay my respects. But it was more than that, it's an experience I didn't want to miss."

Seven times! Go about your day, madam.

They could have both worn uniform at the lower rank that they actually qualified for during their active service careers, so I don't know why they didn't just do that (unless there is some reason why they couldn't). The Nonce in particular had a pretty impressive career and saw action in the Falklands War.

They could have both worn uniform at the lower rank that they actually qualified for during their active service careers, so I don't know why they didn't just do that (unless there is some reason why they couldn't). The Nonce in particular had a pretty impressive career and saw action in the Falklands War.

Aye, I spent maybe more time that I would care to admit reading about it after I made that post. :D

It is fascinating. It sounds like they just keep him in very controlled conditions and re-embalm him every 18 months. Apparently when they originally, temporality embalmed him and then laid him out it was -7 degrees in Russia, so he was still in good shape a month and half later and they just decided to try and permanently preserve him. 98 years later he's still (sort of) there!

Yeah, they've fast-tracked this, there'll be plebs that died before her still waiting a few weeks yet.

Can confirm this to be the case.

Think all funerals on Monday being cancelled didn't help much.
