Biggest shock here is man city clearing the pitch invasion.
Lewis

It would have been interesting to see whether Liverpool would have done a pitch invasion. I think there might have been a bit of a generational split. Oh well hopefully we never find out, since I certainly wouldn't attempt one with the French police.

Cheers [The] Villa. Nice one Mellin.

Irrelevant oil state team winning the league is preferable to Liverpool. Sorry Jürgen
Utd boys haven't cheered this hard since streaming their U14 cup win. Great to see.
I'm cheering harder with those tears.

All we had to do was beat Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton or Newcastle once…
Ah well. Thoroughly enjoyed the season, which is more than I can say for half a decade.

Richarlison has all the Liverpool fans on strings. He’ll have a local or two rock up to his house in no time. Not sure a Favela boy would be too worried about that mind

The main disappointment is that the fall out from City not winning would have been beyond comprehension.
City really ought to forward whatever the Grealish win the title clause is directly to MellCorp.

I was interested to hear yesterday that no team has ever gone into the final day of a Premier League season on top and not ended up winning. How dull.
Pretty sure I know which team will eventually set that straight.
I guess the Michael Thomas Arsenal game is probably the last time it happened, back in the beforetimes.

Twice since the war. 88/89 (it's up for grabs now), 71/72 (Brian Clough's Derby mugging Shankly's Liverpool).
In 75/76, QPR were champions at half time in the final game. Bless 'em.

1995/6 went down to the final day as well.
The treble year it went to the final day. Luckily it was Spurs we had to beat so they took the lead but then Spursed it when we started attacking.

That game they binned from 2-0 up at halftime in the Benitez fachts season still haunts me. What did that end up 5-2 or something?
Villa were at it too then as well with the Macheda shit.

The one thing I remember from rewatching 1995 is how rotten our luck wound out. Late goals against Liverpool, Blackburn. Hitting the woodwork against Forest and Spurs. It was either the Forest game or Blackburn where the ball skips under Batty's foot and sets up Woan / Fenton.

Burnley won more games against the top 4 than Liverpool did. Draw merchants
niko_cee
23-05-2022, 12:05 PM
Yeah. The top 4 table was a bit odd this year. What happened in the Spurs v Chelsea games? 8 points for City (2 wins, 2 draws 2 defeats), 6 draws for Liverpool. If spurs avoided defeat at all against Chelsea then I guess they come out on top.
Gray Fox
23-05-2022, 12:05 PM

Spurs lost every single game against Chelsea this season (as per). 3 times in about 3 weeks in January.
Chelsea were also the first team ever to not be losing at half time for a full season. Tommy T obviously can’t do a good motivational speech at half time. Or win a home game

The BBC has apologised after a message appeared on screen reading “Manchester United are rubbish”.
The line popped up on the BBC News ticker at the bottom of the screen during a tennis update on the 9am to 10am broadcast. Later in the morning, the presenter Annita McVeigh apologised to any Manchester United fans who may have been offended, saying the mistake had occurred as someone was learning how to operate the ticker and was “writing random things not in earnest”.

I've cancelled my TV license. I don't want the BBC to be factual.
