The money you get from the new tv deal in the Premier League (from 16/17 onwards) is out of this world.
£97m in tv money and £33m prize money for finishing 3rd. :eyemouth:
Anyone playing as Liverpool? How's Benteke for you? He's 3rd choice striker for me and am aiming to ship him out in the summer for sure.

4 games in and I've lost all three league games, but shat Huddersfield out of the League Cup in a completely undeserved 1-0 smash and grab, which has earned me a home tie against Crystal Palace in round two.
It feels like a really decent game so far. Enjoying it and although the interface is a bit clunky (which seems to be the case everywhere these days as nobody can work out whether they're designing for mobile or PC) the mechanics seem good and the match engine, although I'm playing in 2D, is excellent.

So second season with Everton is done and we finished 3rd in the league, with Chelsea running away with it (lol).

The cups didn't go quite so well and it would have been nice to win the wafer, but I seem destined to never do that again on FM.

The financial situation finally seems sorted, with £64m in the bank and the loan re-payments down to £750k per month.
I'm getting a kick out of getting Everton to be financially viable, so it'll be kids and out of favour bargains signed over the summer I think.

It's a slightly fragile version of the full game, yeah. I've not had any issues with it on mine, apart from an oddity where I select a leftback and the pop-up player list doesn't disappear until I repeat it.
After fooling around with a few teams I decided to pluck for Villa and emulate full time geezer Tim Sherwood in keeping the Villa in the top flight. In came Glenn Hoddle as my DOF and Dwight Yorke as my assistant (lol). Out the door went Swiss liability Senderos and French wanker N'Zogbia. With those funds I signed some South American muscle in the form of old favourite Lucas Romero and new kid on the block Mammana.
The result is turgid football, but we have embarrassed two of the big boys in United & Liverpool.
http://i.imgur.com/I2P0SQ8.png
Randy Lerner refused to sell the club to a consortium, which I'm sure will be the first of many. He's also decreased the transfer revenue to 50% which has led to this expression permanently fixed on my face...

Turgid football is the way forward. I've set Mansfield up to be ultra defensive and after a bit of bedding in we're churning out the 1-0 wins for fun. Haven't had an over 2.5 since the opening day of the season
Playing something that the game deems a '4-3-3 wide' but with my crap personnel is more like a 4-5-1, with the three midfielders just hacking and the full backs staying firmly in Mourinho land.

Samadini

What worked successfully for me was to promise them they could leave in the next transfer window, set their asking price as something stupid. Keeps them happy for months and then no one bids on them and they back down - settled for the rest of the season, then it starts all over again the next season.
http://i.imgur.com/11lbOWK.png
Oh yes. The Martin O'Neill days are back and we did it all without Richard Dunne or a smidgen of financial backing. 40 points was the aim, 55 was the result and the Europa League is the punishment. Thankfully Randy has been generous and we have this war chest for the summer ahead.

For the moment I've solved it by dropping them into the reserves and replacing them with teenagers from said reserves, which at this level makes little difference and is how I want to play the game anyway.
One of said teenagers has scored 13 goals in 8 games despite being rubbish and playing in a team that is in the dullest 15th place imaginable. It's a confusing business.

The regen faces look much better on this, but the hair still makes them look like bedraggled sex offenders.
Some top signings there Yev. The two from Anderlecht, Chuks and Mammana all look very tidy.
I couldn't convince Tielemans or Lincoln to join. The Midlands is dire, but Villa is still a big club!
Yevrah

Lincoln should be great, but Tielemans is a bit of a punt, in that every time I buy him I seem to get broken Tielemans. So I guess in that regard I don't have much to lose with the loan deal.

Yeah, I was unseeded for the playoff draw and I think I'll be unseeded for the group stages if I make it through. I have no ranking in Europe as it stands, so I'm just curious what I need to do to get one.

National champions from the top 7 nations are top seeds, others use the coefficient as before.

The band's back together. It's proving to be a very costly £15m spent thus far, with Delph constantly suspended and Benteke missing the season doing his achilles in :moop:. On a brighter note Balanta & Pavon add to the Argentinian contingent, the former producing a decent paring with Mammana and the latter grabbing 5 goals. Michu has been woeful.
Out the door go overpaid wank in the form of Joe Cole, Kieran Richardson, Alan Hutton and a few minor names.
http://i.imgur.com/d5SgGAx.png
We were mauled in Europe (Valencia, Udinese) so to be sitting in the top half has calmed my nerves. Sitting 19th after 9 games was a sham, so despite the advice of Yorke I binned the 4-5-1 for a more expansive and continental 4-2-3-1. Since we've beaten Chelsea, United, Everton, Spurs and Saints, conceding just 3 goals in 12 matches. #beastbalanta. I'd imagine we'll falter at some point and finish 6th again.

Gone out of the FA Cup to Crawley after losing a 2-0 away lead in injury time and then losing 1-0 at home despite having 31 shots. Hateful game.
Out of all the cups with 29 league games left, currently 12th in the league and I reckon we'll finish between 10th and 18th. Should be wall to wall thrills and spills.
My Sociedad game was going well but running way too slowly, so I've started a new one with Sassuolo loading less leagues. I'll pick the former up sometime once if the full version is quicker than the beta.

55 points (again), weaker in attack, stronger in defence, shit the bed on both cups (Shrewsbury, Ipswich), but still managing a top half finish. Sherwood-esque. On the league, it all went a bit mental this season. Wenger retired, Everton finished rock bottom, WBA survived with 28 points and Diego Costa won players' player of the year award.
Liverpool - Tevez, Aboubaker, Douglas Costa
United - Gotze, Bernard
Arsenal - Barbosa, Icardi, Beradi
Chelsea - Morata, Barkley, Calhalnoglu
City - Vietto, Paco Alcacer
It's fucking depressing how brilliant the AI seem to be in the market this year, a criticism that seems to have been addressed by SI.

llori & Mbemba were brought in to replace the Balanta sized hole in my defence (minimum fee release clause :moop:). Bakkali to provide attacking spark, and Balic & Santamaria are very much unknowns. As you can see more shite departed the club this summer. Those sales now leave the books £77m in the black, a figure that inspired Randy to finally cut his losses and move on.

Also, annoying to see that once again the same programmers names are popping up in the game again... Duncan Greenwood, for example.
Busy day at the CD Keys HQ - received my steam code for FM16 earlier. And the documentary.
Top 10 in terms of value, if we remove regens, looks like this after 7 years. It's June so no values are boosted due to recent transfers:
Gabriel Barbosa
Sterling
Martial
Dybala
Pogba
Depay
Thiago Maia
Neymar
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Lincoln
Ones that are high up and don't seem to start out as top, top players include Hirving Lozano, Jesus Vallejo, Sebastian Driussi, Lucas Ocampos.
Thanks.
Ox is overated again I see. Depay still class even after his poor start......

Just downloading the new version now. What's the steam group, gents?
How do you do this?
I thought it happened automatically but I just loaded up my game and it's still listed as the beta version.

EDIT: The board suggested discussing a new contract, they still wanted possession football, told them I didn't and left the talks without a contract. Playing hard ball. Burnley have been relegated to League One so applied for that job. Should be easy to get back into the Championship.
Just received my key, installing now.
Think I'll take a look around tonight, hopefully it's a playable game. :nodd:

That league position graph is what I live for, and also represents my heart rate when watching any of our games unfold.
I've tried to liven things up by binning my first choice keeper and installing a 17 year old from the youth team. That didn't change the plodding mid-table shitness, so I've also binned my left winger and promoted an 18 year old left back from the youth team to play left wing. And still.
But the board want me to avoid a relegation battle, and by God am I living up exactly to their expectations and not exceeding them in any way because why would you do that.

I think I must be.
I'm not really interested in transfers at the moment, which is something I'll have to change to go up next year, but it's a very good match engine for this stage of the release cycle which is the main plus point. No doubt a patch will turn it into skittles as usual come December.
I spent 53 minutes making a tactic for Sheffield Wednesday.
I guess they had time to put all the Juve injuries in the game, we start with quite a small squad.
I always turn off first season budgets as well, so the first few weeks could be hard if more injuries happen. I brought in Mammana on loan, with a €6M future fee.
Played one game so far, the Supercup against Lazio and won 4-0. It could have been much closer though, when we were leading 1-0 they had plenty of chances to equalise as they were just killing us down the wing with their pace and my complete wing-backs closer to their goal than ours. They got a man sent off around minute 50 and from then it was easy.
Set up a 4312 and a 352, I guess I'll rotate between those. We can't really play any other system at the moment, as I don't want to put Morata wide on the left. This does mean that Cuadrado either stays on the bench or plays wing-back but whatever. When Asamoah gets back from injury, I'm thinking of trying out a flat 442 though, with Marchisio-Pogba in the middle and Cuadrado-Asamoah on the wings.

I've restarted with Peterborough on FM14 today.
I'm 'insecure' after six games, so not sure it'll last very long.
Turned it around and I'm sitting in 5th after 24 games - only conceded 20 goals so far, so my system seems to be working.
League One in 2013/14 is difficult - us, Swindon, Wolves, Brentford, Sheffield United, Leyton Orient, Coventry, MK Dons and Bristol City are all decent teams and performing well.

Is anyone else getting unmanageable amount of injuries? Pogba just got a 4 month injury, which means my strongest XI will not have played together until at least January.

I'm ok on the injuries. What I can't deal with is the squad unrest because anyone who spends three games out of the team demands a transfer, and those who are in the team are outraged when I don't fine them.
No unrest here so far, but after a brace Mandzukic has gone and sprained his ankle.
I have eight players from my best XI out injured. :cab:
I'm having to rely on Hernanes to be Pirlo and Padoin to be Pogba.
http://i.imgur.com/8AaQNIg.png
Strap on your gilets gents, were off to Europe. After teetering around mid table for most of the season, only two defeats post January saw us climb into 7th. It's very much best of the rest with only the Hammer and Saints within touching distance.
Transfers (http://i.imgur.com/xBKRfbO.png)
9 players both in and out is far more than I'm comfortable with, but needs must. Adding to the squad in the winter were Argentine duo Romero & Kannemann to boost our numbers at either end of the pitch. Bernard came in for a bargain £5.75m and hit the ground running with 5 goals. Last but not least Jack Butland. He's already saved us half a dozen points, a must buy.
Leaving the club Romero went for close to £30m (release clause) and with 2 goals in 30 games between them Michu and Benteke were shown the door. Gabby, Delph & Guzan all left in the recent summer and for the first time it feels very much my squad. #LVG
The aim for next season is once again Europe. With players like Bakkali, Grealish, Adama, Pavon all at 22 there's boatloads of potential.
Is anyone else getting unmanageable amount of injuries? Pogba just got a 4 month injury, which means my strongest XI will not have played together until at least January.
I did struggle with injuries for a period, but it was the same culprits time and time again. Injury prone players seem to only be fit 1/3 of the season.
I'm ok on the injuries. What I can't deal with is the squad unrest because anyone who spends three games out of the team demands a transfer, and those who are in the team are outraged when I don't fine them.
Avoiding rotation contracts seems to be the best solution. If there not in the first eleven then back up/hot prospect depending on their age.

You can get most of it automated by assistants.
The match engine is so much more versatile on this version. No more forcing you to play high pressing, retain possession etc.
I've switched things around with Sociedad and not sure of my best system, but currently playing 4-4-2 with a Regista and BWM in the DM slots.
I've not got the best out of Vela, far from it. Unsure of his best position and when I've played Inside Forwards they haven't seemed very effective. Anyone else noticed that?

Finished 13th after a thoroughly mid-table season which was characterised by the club's financial situation going slowly down the plughole throughout (we simply have no income, and no players to sell either). I responded by basically sidelining the higher earners to be released at the end of the season, and blooding an ever increasing number of teenagers from the youth team in the XI. Some of them did pretty well, notably the league's top scorer Dwyer who scored 25 goals despite being shit.
Going into the summer I have no money, no budget and will probably have to supplement my young squad by finding a few equally young moneyball type released players. Fun challenge though.

Second season with Derby after disappointing the board a bit first time out and finishing 8th. Financially we were in the shit all season, culminating in me selling everyone outside the first team and filling the bench with kids, as well as the board stumping up a couple of emergency cash injections. Our projections looked fucked, so I organised a few free transfers and loans early, and just to spite me as soon as my business was done about 4 million quid in prize money appeared from nowhere.

We scored immediately, then they went 2-1 up with their first two shots, then we clicked for a few minutes and went 4-2 up. I chose to go 'counter' but that turned out to be a mistake, defensively it might have actually been better to stay on 'control' and try to keep the ball. They scored twice in two minutes for the 4-4. :/
They used a weird 442 which had AMR/L and two DMs, so there was no-one in the midfield. I ended up having 64% possession, the problem is the four times they got the ball from us, they just threw eleven men forward and it was impossible to contain, especially for my pensionist club in defence (Evra's iron lung struggled with Torino's high tempo).
What's interesting is that Torino have actually lucked their way to the top of the table (18 games in), so an away draw at the league leaders' is not even the worst result. I'm sure their luck will run out soon and they'll start tilting, so I just need to keep ahead of the others.

Half way through the season and things are not looking that great. Our results are wildly inconsistent, we just lost at home against Bologna. Our strikers are kind of the problem at the moment. Mandzukic doesn't score, Dybala is very up-and-down in form, Zaza is shit and Morata is good but I assume Madrid will buy him back. At least we've topped our CL group easily and we drew Atletico in the last 16.
I'm considering who my TOP PLAYER purchase should be in the summer, it kind of depends on what direction I want to go on tactically. I don't mind the 4312 but I kind of want to throw some serious money for Felipe Anderson and go 433. We'll see.
edit: now we've just drawn at home against Carpi. One goal in two games against Bologna and Carpi. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong, this is absolutely pathetic.
Got my hands on this now and made a start down in Vanarama South with Chelmsford. Trying to create a 0-0 tactic like Jimmy's but keep conceding from corners. 3 games, 3 narrow losses.

Decided against the Betis game and instead went with Norwich. To make it a bit more interesting I've decided I'll try to build a side predominantly from Scots and see if I can survive in the Premier League. Think that cup defeat to Hull is the only properly bad result so far. Sitting in a reasonably strong position in the league, at tenth with a game in hand on a couple teams above us, but I expect there will be a few defeats to come given the lack of goals.
I've had four or five players already crying about the lack of first team football, which seems ridiculous given we're not even into December yet. I've told most of them they can fuck off.

Things have turned around. We now have the best attack and worst defence in the league, but the league position is the same. We had a very good start but of late are going 3-0 down early on in most matches as my defenders just make individual errors by the dozen. Which is as they should, as they're all 19 and shit. The match engine really is excellent.
On the positive side, I've massively cut costs so hopefully the moneyball approach will see us right to make a couple of big signings to push us closer to the top in the following season.

Finished 3rd, got drawn against Crawley in the playoffs and Matt Doherty got sent off in the 4th minute. Lost the first leg 3-0, won the second leg 1-0 and didn't advance any further.
As it is, I have the best team in League One this year (Boro didn't sign Lee Tomlin permanantly, I've signed Michael Hector from Reading and a few younguns from Man United including Michael Keane) but I've had a slow start with a few draws and I'm mid-table.

With Spurs and Liverpool wobbling, we really should be pushing 5th, but as it is 13th is our table high. I can only put this down to the Europa league were we've already played 11 games! From Xanthi to Prague, Bruges to Valencia, we now found ourselves in the last 64.

Also, I'm using Inside Forwards to quite some success with my 4-2-3-1. Full backs are set to FBSupport, and the IFs tuck inside at every opportunity.
Cheers DS I'll try some of that out. I checked and around 30% of the goals I've conceded in the league came from corners+free kicks. If I can prevent those, then it would be great.
I got knocked out of the CL by Bayern. We lost 1-0 at home, then won 1-0 at Allianz Arena only to lose on penalties.
However, we've hit some consistency in the league, though we still have some stupid results like 1-1 at home against Chievo and that loss against Palermo. The other title challengers are just as inconsistent though and Torino had a few bad games in a row which means that somehow we've managed to get ourselves in first with two games to go. Our last game was at San Siro against Inter and we managed to get a rare 1-0 win which was key.
https://i.gyazo.com/6b474f93e47140dc6696c5186f0820db.png
The next game ... Juve-Torino. The derby. I really did not think it would be a title derby. Unfortunately Milan beat us in the head-to-head so a win against Torino wouldn't win us the title, as Milan have an easy home game against Bologna. We play Bologna ourselves in the last fixture, away though. Torino have Sassuolo and Milan have Carpi then so I really need to win both games to win the title.
So is the actual game out? And whats that thing people do with the editor to mix up where all the good newgens come from?

Two players offside when the shot was hit, the ball deflects off No 20 wrong foots my keeper and the linesman is having none of it. What an epic cunt.

Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.
Summer window was crazy. PSG activated two release clauses, one on deadline day, which had me scrambling to get a CB in. For some reason, my board (cunts) had decided that transfer revenue really shouldn't go back into the transfer budget, so I sat there having sold 3 players for almost 130 million with only 8 million in the budget to work with. Desperately I went for Riedewald, and dumped a winger that doesn't fit into my team for 25% of his market value.

Herrera on loan feels like a great addition, and Tielemans is already doing stuff way beyond his current stats.
So is the actual game out? And whats that thing people do with the editor to mix up where all the good newgens come from?
Yep, has been since Friday I believe. For the regens you have to to change the youth rating to the maximum of 200 for each country.
We beat Torino and went into the last match, away at Bologna still three points ahead of Milan. We just needed a draw and Bologna also just needed a draw to be sure of avoiding relegation. I just put 'Counter' on, but since they needed a draw they didn't even try to score it ended 0-0 good result for both teams.

Champions with 74 points. :D It was a good comeback though, we really clicked in the last third of the season. I took a look at the ranking graph thing and we were never top of the table until week 33. I'd say every big team underperformed in terms of points, Torino probably deserved the title for their effort.
Player stats-wise, Dybala played by far the most minutes. I had no other deep-lying forward so he played 52 matches out of 53. He's also our top scorer with 20 (followed by Morata with 17) and got most assists again with 20.
The average rating doesn't really matter since it seems that this game favours full-backs heavily. Most of the highest average rating players in Serie A are full-backs, the highest being Lichtsteiner of course. The four top ratings in our team are the four fullbacks (Caceres, Licht, Sandro, Evra). Behind them is Sturaro, so I guess he has the best real rating. He was really great and has great attributes this year.
Player of the season is a hard decision, Sturaro as I said was really good, Dybala probably was even more important though. Shoutout to Rugani who was far, far better than Chiellini (who was a total disaster) and ended up playing 35 times. Chiellini played 23 times. Worst player of the season was Cuadrado of course, played 13 times and did absolutely nothing. Doesn't help that I play without wingers, but the few times I tried wingers (or put him at RWB) he just made me run back to narrow formations.

Fuck me that was a disaster. Going to have to start again I think, playing the ball out from the back seems to be a no go that much I have learned.
PSG asked me for Pereyra and I told them to piss off by setting his price at €50M ... they offered €46M. Pereyra is now in PSG.
With that money, I'm going to bring Oliver Torres in.
I've also sold Mandzukic and Hernanes, their fees were not as high because I was basically begging anyone to take them. €23M for the two of them. Out goes Barzagli as well, I love the guy irl but in the game his physical condition just isn't good enough to play regularly and I have to give Rugani games.
So far I've only brought in one major signing, Franco Vazquez from Palermo. He's great, he will play behind the strikers but can cover for Dybala upfront as well.
I tried to bring Michael Bradley in to rotate in the midfield but he wanted €195K per week, which would make him my highest paid player so no thanks. I'm bringing in Fellaini on loan instead.

Mandzukic, really? He seems like a beast to me.
I didn't like him. He didn't have a bad scoring average (11 in 25) but he did not have the influence on the team that Morata has. He doesn't really fit my playing style and to be honest he doesn't fit in real life either. In the end either I keep him or I keep Zaza, I'll always end up keeping the option that's younger and Italian.

Mediocrity at it's finest. After a conspiracy from the very core of UEFA knocked us out of the Europa league, we proceeded to bottle in the FA cup (to league 1 Hull no less) and win only 2 of our 10 remaining league games. The board now expect 7th as a given, the media 8th.
Both Butland & Veretout left for North London for a combined £25m. Incoming were Paul Clement as my new assistant, Mattia Perin as the new No1 and a newgen tipped as the next Gilberto Silva.

I absolutely love this kid. I got Tevez at the start of my third season, he's still a beast but his physical stats dropped a lot during the season so I sold him off to Milan for 3mil at the start of my current 4th season. Had a scout about for a striker but decided to give the starting berth to this lad who I got from Universidad Catolica for 3.5mil start of my second season:

He's just banged in a hat trick at home in the CL quarter final against Bayern. Gonna be phenomenal.
Twenty five games gone in the first season and I think I've already comfortably exceeded the expectation to survive relegation, with them sitting in the top ten. Have also made it to fifth round of the FA Cup, which was the target at start of season, but have a decent draw to go further.
The fan's expectations seem completely borked though. Beating league leaders Arsenal got an "oh well we guess that's pretty good" because it was only a 1-0. I've noticed a few press things that seem really stupid as well, like one reporter asking me why I wasn't starting the highly rated but hadn't scored in fifteen games striker I'd stuck on the bench for the fifth game in a row.
On a more frustrating issue that affects the actual gameplay, I can't seem to get players to actually move ahead of the ball, no matter how 'fluid' or attacking I make them and no matter how comfortable they supposedly are with that setup. The thought of (Norwich) fullbacks making overlapping runs is apparently beyond the comprehension of the match engine.

I've settled on a 4-4-2 with Alavés, seems to be working okay. One thing though. More than half of the goals I concede come from a winger running to the byline and crossing into the six yard box, where a striker can just tap/head it in. My full-backs are relatively good, so is there anything that I can do about it tactically?
What do you want to do? If you want your full-backs doing that instead, you can either tell your wingers to hold up the ball and look for overlap or change them to IFs to pull them into the middle, leaving your full-backs a lot of space to run into.
I don't think you've read that question right, P_3. He's asking about defending against wingers who run to the byline.
Having a centre back set to "cover" might help against it? Ideally you'd look to stop the cross coming in in the first place, but other than maybe ensuring wide players are closed down I'm not sure what you do about that.
Yeah I've tried that (Cover duty) as well, didn't really change anything. Neither does the fact that my keeper's "Command of Area" stat is at 8, I guess. I've set my fullbacks to tackle harder now.

Following the shambles that was Chelmsford, I moved to the Vanarama National with Wrexham. Expected to finish top half, we exceeded expectations by winning the league in some style breaking the goals record and equaling the points record. I threw the 451 in the bin and incorporated a 424 which abused crossing with 39% of the league goals coming from crosses. Our post Christmas form was outstanding, the only game we lost was the FA Trophy Final on penalties. I think I'm beginning to love this shit.

Managing the Bahrain international sides from the beginning of 2015 because why the fuck not. I need a bit of a challenge or in this case a massive plebroll. Tempted to manage a bunch of kids in the U23 competitive matches come to think of it.
Got only four friendlies lined up because I'm waiting for FIFA to get their arses in gear and give me some qualifying matches for this World Cup somewhere in Russia coming soon. Lebanon (H), Kuwait (H), England (A) America (H). The England game is probably going to be a good excuse for a pissup and an automatic loss because why not.
Arsenal - ManUtd online career:
Both me and my cousin failed to may CL spots :D Couldn't get a settle tactic at the start which cost us with myself finishing 5th and my cousin 6th.
Jack Wilshere injured at the start of course then got injured for 3months again! Played 0 mins all season and got in the Eng team and sold more shirts than anyone else...
Got to be a bug regards to selling players as when offered to clubs they tend to come in with half the player's value that I set, even if it is their set value.
Benteke seems to out of favour with Pool, been on TL all season with no-one touching him. Depay is still fecking the best player on this game :nono:

Mathematically safe from relegation with eight games to go, which is nice. If we could somehow hang on the current seventh place it'd be even nicer, but I suspect we'll slip in to the bottom half. I'm more concerned with the upcoming FA Cup semi-final anyway.
I've no idea how some of you power through seasons so quickly. Perhaps my media reputation as a tinkerer is more warranted than I imagined.
DMC - Marcelo Meli
How on earth? I had countless work permits rejected for this lad.
Right on cue, Andre Wisdom does his ACL and is out for the rest of the season (and therefore the rest of his loan period). Mulgrew and Olsson are already out with similarly long term injuries, so I'm a bit short defensively just a couple days after free transfer window closed.
Anybody know how I recall a loan player? I have a half decent kid out on loan and the contract page says "can be recalled", but I don't see the option anywhere.

The season starts with three straight defeats (4-2, 4-2, 2-1) and only beating Rotherham on penalties in the League Cup. I may have stretched a little too far with the two promotions.
It's either under the Transfer or Contract drop down menu on the player's profile
Turns out you can only do it while the window is open. I thought because he was young enough not to need registration it would be fine, but it seems not as the option isn't there.

Started the second season by losing the Supercup on penalties to Roma. Their goal in regulation came from a set piece, I hope it's just an isolated incident as after making a few changes (thanks DS) I stopped conceding many of those.

How mental does the Premier League money go after the new TV deal kicks in? I should have this tomorrow and that might be the thing stopping me going Portuguese and being someone like Villa instead.
All things told (TV and prize money) I think the bottom club gets £99m. So fairly mental.

Sacked! Leading at Chelsea & Arsenal only to bottle the 6 points was the final straw. I'd lost the dressing room and any sense of the team I was trying to build.

1 month on and with The Hammers in 17th, Bilic was shown the door. Scott Parker comes in as my assistant, Karen Brady got the slip and with 7 points from my first four games it's a solid start. Noble , Tomkins, Cresswell, Valencia & Winston Reid still occupy the dressing room, but there's some new flavours in the likes of Andre Ayew, Shaqiri, Destro & Nouri. With the super sale of Moi Gomez to PSG for £22.5m, Lucas Romero (£15m) and Bellarabi (£5m) were added to the ranks.

Despite dominating most of the game, we lost 3-1 to Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final.
On the plus side, draws against both Chelsea and Man City have kept us comfortably in the top half. Nine points and 16 goals clear of eleventh, which with three games to go will be enough barring all but the most monumental of collapses.
Then after approaching twenty hours of game timeI'll finally have finished my first season...
