Well, I was not expecting that.

Bit disappointed that he went with the slap and not a good 'ol punch.

He clearly lols at the joke and then must obviously look at Jada who is SEETHING before deciding to act.

At what point did Will Smith turn so weird?

John Arne
28-03-2022, 04:47 AM
Fair play to Chris Rock who just stood there and took it. Such a weird thing to choose to slap someone rather than punch them... in front of a gazillion people... after having just laughed at the joke.

At what point did Will Smith turn so weird?

When we were all invited to bang his wife.

He's been a member of some weird cult for decades hasn't he?

Edit: "Just" Scientology, apparently. Thought it was an even more mental one.

Ricky Gervais would have probably been kod from that so small mercies.

Is this real or some kind of skit? I had no idea Will Smith was this unstable.

He has been on a downwards spiral for a while. He doesn't look well.

Wasn't he banging Margot Robbie a while back anyway?

Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family. In this time in my life, in this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and be in this world. Making this film, I got to protect Aunjanue Ellis, who is one of the most strongest, most delicate people I've ever met. I got to protect Saniyya [Sidney] and Demi [Singleton], the two actresses who played Venus and Serena.

"I was just being method almost a year since the film was shot."

Just sad seeing an Actor I quite like turning into an absolute weirdo / going through some sort of breakdown.

Is someone able to splice together footage of this with Brian Moore's [now nearly 2 decades old!?!] "That's not a punch it's a gay slap" commentary?

As an aside I would strongly advise against putting 'Brian Moore Gay Slap' into google's video search.

There’s already versions wit Jim Ross commentary added in.

Does he look a bit like Don Cheadle without one? At least he looks a bit like what the image of Don Cheadle looks like in my head.

Now we're a couple of days past this and you look at this out of the initial furore of it being the most meme-able moment of all time and view it for what it actually was, it's absolutely mad that they didn't throw him out of the building isn't it?

The guy walked up on stage, hit somebody in the face for making a joke he (or least his wife) didn't like. On (inter)national television. And then just sat back down and continued his evening. Crazy.

Baz
30-03-2022, 07:25 PM
Absolutely.

Yevrah

Netflix has really fucked Hollywood over. The old model just doesn't work anymore. Nobody is interested in paying 15 quid to watch a film at the Cinema these days. Only Ryan Reynolds has really survived the transition.

Don't see the big deal, personally. Not like he ripped his spine out or something.

Nah he was an unhinged tit, if he really wanted to stand up for Jada he could have zinged Rock easily. Smith was just worried she was going to birch him then shag his lad's mate again so panicked and over reacted.

The most offensive thing Smith did all night was his speech. Absolute drivel.

There’s no nearly enough slaps doled out in life any more.

Will Smith has been banned from the Oscars gala and other Academy events for 10 years after the actor slapped comic Chris Rock at the Oscars.

At least he got his Oscar this year.
