I don't have much left to watch. A bit of a dearth at the moment, I fear.

Foxcatcher's rubbish.

I'll be the judge of that!

Waiting for a decent Everest copy but I suspect it won't be as good as the documentary, anyway.

Once I've watched a film, I'll delete it. So not much to show.

Sir Andy Mahowry

Because I use private trackers I keep seeding them until they are removed from the sites.

960 torrents in my list right now.

I don't torrent.

I just stream stuff these days. Streaming sites do things in HD and internet connections are fast enough now that torrenting isn't really needed.

QE Harold Flair
20-10-2015, 12:15 AM
Streaming sites with films cost money, though. I already pay for the internet.

Popcorn Time (which, admittedly, runs on a torrent backend) and MoviePanda have largely replaced the process of torrenting movies for me.

No they don't. I don't mean Netflix.

Have a look in the Kodi thread. You don't need to bother with torrents any more.

Kodi sounds foreign, though. No chance he'll use it.

QE Harold Flair

Ha that's a good one,

As for bothering, I don't see it as any bother at all. Download usually done within a few minutes, watch and that's it. I thought that Kodi thing was more for tablets and phones, anyway?

You can use it on tablets, phones and computers. It's good for football streaming too. And it has a nice interface to browse through.

Jokes aside, Harry, Kodi is great.

Luca

People who don't like watching films on their computers.

You can really easily download a film and stream it from your computer to your TV with something like Chromecast, or use one of those hacked Apple/Android boxes connected to your TV.

Or just HDMI the shit.

I would torrent, but university law prohibits me from doing so. I already got 2 (out of 3) strikes last year for bringing a laptop back to school that was seeding torrents I had downloaded elsewhere. One more strike and they suspend my internet connection, which would probably not be conducive to my academic pursuits, so i don't fux with it

Formatted my computer and only kept a few things so just spent about half an hour getting them back seeding:

Its a scam site pretty much now, it'll go to a pay model eventually and it'll all crumble down, gave my account to a mate as its turned to shite for anything but new releases.

Kodi is looking promising. How do I find movies to watch? Are there particular addons to install or is there something else I need to do?

Boydy

Genesis is great for films and tv shows.

This guy - https://seo-michael.co.uk/ - has loads of guides on how to install stuff. Probably easiest to just get the Beast as it'll install loads for you in one go. Here's a guide - https://seo-michael.co.uk/the-beast-build-for-kodi/

I've only seen The Revenant. It was good in the cinema but not how sure it'd hold up on a small screen.

QE Harold Flair

Hmmm one of those, is it? A proper good film should be good anywhere. It has great reviews, though.

Toby
03-02-2016, 10:54 PM
It's alright, it's just that by far the most impressive thing about it is the cinematography. At the very least I'd wait for a proper HD download.

No I'm not Hammer. There's a utorrent exploit:

"This security flaw can allow a remote attack to download things to the affected computer using nothing more than code running in the background of a web page that is visited. This includes the ability to remotely download an executable to the machine's startup folder.

Other risks involved may be the ability to pull peer data and passkeys from the client, which is why we are taking a fairly aggressive approach of axing the entire 3.x line-up until we definitely know the flaw no longer exists in a new version. We are not ready to move forward with any faith nor optimism for the company to have actually secured their product in their latest "fixed" release.

We strongly suggest you take this severe and dangerous flaw seriously and immediately discontinue use of the client on any tracker. Just having the client running in the background is all that is required to use this exploit against you."

Dump it, get qbitorrent.

Apparently all versions, only ptp is allowing the older versions for now while its still waiting to be confirmed on those. Most my other sites have blacklisted it altogether. Easier just to switch now rather than down the line, its on their front page.

Who's still using uTorrent? They've been selling your info and installing trackers for yonks.

QbitTorrent is where it's at.

Haven't downloaded a torrent in well over a year I'd say. Billions will be my only reason to start again too as it's not on anywhere on TV or online that I can get.

Boydy

Aye, I haven't bothered with torrents in ages either. Showbox has most things so I just use it on my old phone and stream to the TV.

I use them for the occasional wrestling show and for motogp as that's the only sensible way of getting them.

Yeah, just the MotoGP for me, although last season had me wishing I was more up-to-date than a week behind on the races. If I had the time to watch the 20 year's worth of archives on the app, I'd be in the pocket of Dorna. And £177 a year. And by year, they mean March - November.

Sir Andy Mahowry
27-02-2018, 12:31 AM
I'm getting better download speeds (17 MiB/s compared to around 10ish), connected to clients quicker and I'm getting less lag when downloading.

Qbit ftw.

Two things are pissing me off though.

It seems that every time I close and then open it again it rechecks some of my downloaded torrents and it's auto-downloading old shit from my RSS feed.
