I thought it might be fun to do a werewolf before Browning does another BooC.

The curse of Harold Bishop

Harold has managed to hack several accounts and is trying to take over and destroy the forum. The posters need to figure out which accounts he has taken over and shut them down. Roles are:

Harolds - you can communicate among yourselves and choose which account to hack and delete each night.

Admins - you can communicate among yourselves and choose one poster to protect each night. If Harold attacks them, he will fail. It will not be revealed to the forum who you chose to protect unless it is successful.

RandomLegends - you can communicate among yourselves and utilise your sources to investigate one poster each night. You will be told what their role is.

Hacker - when hacked (either by Harold or the posters) they get to choose one poster to take down with them.

There's not much else happening anyway. Ideally, we need more people starting new threads, but nobody seems that interested.

On the other hand, it may actually make the board more active by giving quieter posters a reason to visit regularly.

That’s exactly what it turns out like. Logged on yesterday a few times and there was nothing except loads of posts in the other werewolf type thread.

Although I do like some of the elements of the other game where the dead still had some input, can that be carried over? I guess death role reveals cover off most of the mystery, but the ghost vote is a cool idea.

Can a rule be put in place that they can't protect themselves or they can't protect the same person twice in a row?

If not it just means someone can make themselves effectively unkillable.

It does, but restricting it to one also creates an easy target on the second night. Maybe the longest should be three nights? That way, there's still some form of deception required.

How about giving the dead one single vote between them all? So there'd be like a dead sub-vote to decide which nominee gets +1 added to their tally. Call it a seance.

Maybe only works for townsfolk though. Can't really have dead wolves voting in it.

We hadn't played in ages and it was during the first lockdown so people had nothing else to do.
