I cant see us ever recruiting any fresh blood that isn't firmly in the loon category at this point. It would be hard for someone to start posting and get through the no nonsense eco system we have created.

The registration process was broken for about 8 months, which won't have helped with new blood.

Has that changed though? I recall coming over in the Merger being a bit brutal. Only the strong will survive.

You've got to a) write properly and well, and b) understand a complex and years-long internal reference book to get much out of this board. Not sure many new arrivals are going to bridge that gap. I guess the only way would be to get stuck into the football threads (with your club allegiance as an ice breaker) and branch out from there.

We used to jump on people who couldn't write/spell, which was probably well worth it as it maintained the quality long term.

The idea of a forum merger is bizarre, looking back.

We were using a random GMail account to send out the registration links, and at some point, Google decided it didn't want to allow that anymore.

I genuinely like you all. I think you all bring something to this board. Sure many of you may have aspergers, but that's what makes this place great.

I do feel if I was to turn up to a TTH meet, you would all move to another part of the pub, but that's fine. Kinda like what you'd do if an attractive lady stood next to you.
