Just been looking through my old emails for something, and noticed this one from some no-mark called "Mark".
18 years on various versions of this board, and managed to contribute sweet FA
Surely someone has hit the 20 year mark? Jimmy Floyd, Dark Soldier, Lewis

And now the bullee has become bullier.
I joined in May 2001, bored in 6th form.

I joined during the 2002 World Cup, wasn't really a TTH regular until about 2004, the bigger boys bullied me a bit.
I think I joined in the mid-2000s initially, posted a little bit and then drifted away, occasionally coming back briefly as a lurker and I reckon it would have been around the 2010 World Cup I started posting more regularly.
January 2003 so still a little way to go before the twenty year celebration. Amazing how long most of us have been here.
I think i was 15 or 16 so coming up to 20 years ago.
I remember the website address used to be included in the Championship manager notes and I came here from there. Not sure when I first ventured in to TTH.

We've reached a level of familiarity so that we can call someone a cunt in one thread and have a normal conversation in another.
I joined just before the old old board became the new old board, if that makes sense.

Yeah I never remember the old old board. Thedugout.tv was my first. Stayed in the game sections at the started as you got destroyed if you ventured to the TTH section.
I joined the old, old board in 2001 when I was super into CM01/02. I didn't really venture into TTH, and mostly stuck to the CM forums. I re-joined in 2005 on the new, old board. Hard to believe it's been 15 years since then.
Over 5 years since this board was started, too.

Fairly certain I was in the Class of 2005. So many fond memories of being banned by IJ.
I joined in 2008 I think. Ventured into TTH gradually. I think my first post was a list of footballers categorised but my formatting messed up and I ended up with a load of smilies peppered throughout my list.
I do remember viewing the old old board for CM tips and stories.

I don't think I've ever deleted an old email (had the same email address since my dad made it for me in the 90s), but the oldest emails I have are from 2009.
Still found a few emails from dead people when I looked back that far, always a jolter.
Yeah this is still my first email address too but at some point I got annoyed with all the shit and just deleted everything. I reckon there have probably been a grand total of three occasions when I wished I hadn't and none of the reasons were important.

I've never been a better poster, I don't think, than I was in the 2007-08 Exeter meltdown (a period I have totally wiped from my general memory and with good reason). TTH probably bottomed me out and got me going again, in hindsight.

I remember being 14 and getting absolutely buried, my posts then would get more reaction but they would all be some variant of telling me to delete myself from the internet/life. I thought everyone was harsh (in hindsight the bullying did sharpen the overall quality of posting across the forum)
However, when someone did this version of the thread on the old board I finally went back and looked at them a decade or so later and they all read like Diljeet was my ghostwriter just with worse spelling.

Came over with the FmGamer lot in 2004 (I think). Went back over there though when the Marks decided it wasn't working, but that place kinda died a death in around 2009. Shame really, as it'd been going for quite a few years and was quite similar to this place as it had a solid core of posters. Don't really know what happened. I stopped posting in around 2008 when my girlfriend at the time read all my posts from the previous 5 years and took me town on all the shit I'd written about at different times. Didn't really want to go on there again after that - not until we broke up anyway. It wasn't a healthy relationship.
Once Fmgamer closed I wandered the wastelands for a few years before poking my head out on here again from 2012 onwards when I had a job that enabled me to sit on my arse browsing the internet all day. Great stuff.
Then I got banned in 2018 when some people couldn't handle my radical ideas, before Igor brought me back from the dead a few months ago. Not really posted much since then as I've got a job where I actually have to work nowadays, but you never know - with this lockdown shite I might be on a bit more.

I was on FM or CM gamer forums first. One of my early friends once I arrived in England got me involved with the forums. I think I came over to the dugout forum and several usernames later. Im still here. In guessing it was about 2004-2005. At the point, I was playing CM 01/02 for a few years until CM4 and Freddy Adu arrived.
I joined around the same time as DS, perhaps just after. I thought RATM was the biggest wanker going, then. And I was right.
Also this makes me think of a website, it was CM based, I want to say the background was all orange-y as it was made by a Wolves fan. Think he did data updates and had tips on the game. Think that was CM99-00/00-01. Does anyone know the website I'm talking about? Think it was made on geocities.

Started posting in 2009, when I was 12. I probably started posting more in TTH a year after that or so.
Always felt a bit annoyed to be so out of step with everyone age wise - those 'peak university years' went over my barely pubescent head, while during my own peak university years all the action (apart from football) was in the Jobs, Relationship, House, and food threads. I think the recent vacuum exchange has been the culmination of that.

I think some of those download sites have forum sections but they'd be more game based. Some lad that used to post here started one too, someone mentioned it the other day here, but I think it's basically dead.
I think it was 2005. I'd been on another Championship Manager forum before that (off the bench, off the park? Something like that), and when that either closed down or became mostly inactive I looked for other options. Stopped looking at the actual CM/FM-related subforums soon after and been lurking on TTH ever since.

In the timeline where you become moderator instead of lastmentalintown we have a thriving mainsite and we're MASSIVE. Paul Ince can't leave his house.

Probably, yeah.
Remember Mark asked me to design the new website for him (I was shit at design at the time and had no clue what I was doing). Man did he take it seriously :D
And when IJ and him got to assigning mods I think they fancied themselves some sort of godfathers appointing their capos. Nutcases.

I had forgotten for a while that I actually met Tudor in Bucharest maybe in 2008. What a night that was.
