Too good not to share outside the type of nerd who inhabits the golf thread.

That’s not the first time that’s been done in Masters week is it?

The tweet hasn't loaded, but I feel safe in saying that no it didn't.
Unless that was the second time he's done that, I don't want to know.

It's a cool trickshot but the shine is taken off by a) the fact that every player attempts it every year in practice rounds at 16 and b) the camera panning back to see him high fiving a delighted Slick Rick growler. It's comparable to a video of Higuita doing the scorpion save in training and then fist bumping Robbie Savage.

'Ralph Lauren dump Thomas after homophobic slur'

Seems a bit of an overreaction. It's not like he single out someone in the crowd and called them a faggot. He was talking to a golf ball.

Not really. You wouldn't call your keyboard a Nigger and expect your employer to say 'Oh, sit down Dwayne, he wasn't talking to you'.

If Ralph Lauren don't want to sponsor people for whom that is on the tip of their tongue then it's up to them.

I accept it was wrong of him to say it, but I think the reaction outweighs the error. Seems reflective of the ever increasing judgmental world that we live it where you have to suffer a consequence for every mistake you make.

It's a Marketing Decision. I imagine a fairly large sample of the Ralph Lauren customer base is gay or LGBT friendly at the very least. Had he been sponsored by Stone Island they'd have given him his own range off the back of it.
