As another lockdown sets in Football Manager 2021 is set to release this Tuesday and give us all something to do...

https://youtu.be/_Ixe5hHPaCQ

With an apparent list of changes, and having loved FM20, I'm excited. Shall be going Liverpool on the Beta, then I'm off to Würzburg to manage the Kickers.

Will prob be out tomorrow as a beta. Cannot wait.

If you want some fun though at just how shit the game is:

All the updates seem predominately interactions based - which is the one part of the game that I don't even get involved with. Don't think I've seen one actually interesting feature update.
I'll still buy it. #SIFanBoy

Spent the evening updating all the graphics packs. Kits being the most time consuming. No sign of Italian kits, are they just in by default.

Also, what's the best way to fix Juventus and still have leader boards. Or isn't there one. I always thought it was delete the files instructed by name fix patches, but not copy their files over. Didn't seem to work on FM20.

It was bad enough last time I did (probably 5 or 6 years ago) that I won't bother until it's had atleast the first patch.

John Arne

They can be a bit dodgy. Couple of year's ago half your team would get injured every game. I've played about 10 games so far, haven't noticed anything that bad.

The worst thing is the UI, it's still heavily purple and ugly. And, for a game that is based on numbers - they keep trying to turn everything into shitty icons and bright colours.

I'm still on '19, but I'm considering taking the plunge. I normally wait for a price drop, but when I consider how many hours I end up putting into it, it seems pretty tight to be waiting six months to save a fiver.

The ME is superb. Already broken the game engine, its on FMBase as 2332sirjur if you wanna try it.

Central play is now very viable and AMCs are amazing. Press conferences look great but its the same inane fluff really. Best, most conplete FM in ages though, a lot of QoL improvements.

Nuno Mendes is fucking shit hot.

The removal of percentages is fantastic once you get used to it. No longer obsessing over 90% and above/below.

Makes it a bit more realistic in that you wouldn't be an irl manager, point at Rashford and go "he's 92% fit mate"

Though that's a fair point, you could make the same argument for players attributes - we shouldn't really see those :D.

I'm just hard for numbers. Hopefully some new skins will make it look a little nicer.

It doesn't play nice in 4K zoomed which is my res. Some panels don't display properly.

Hoardings flash a bit too much in 2D.

Some text issues - coaches etc now need work permits, and when they get when it says 'player' when they receive it.

There's too much white on the skin.

This is a fucking mess and useless:

See what seems OP and then exploit it. In this version its central play and AMCs, especially a shadow striker coupled with some DLFs. Its basically first 2/3 months of season pissing about and then see what clicks.

I quite would like this but I'm a little put off by the fact that they are adding even more faff around talking to players etc.

If they managed to make that into a way that it actually brought some value, fair enough. But in every game I've played so far, all those things - including "making contract negotiations more realistic" have always ended up turning into more of a chore, and the few times they make things better are when they simplify things (like thet kind of did with training, after a while).

Making "Matchday a proper event" is also bollocks. Whenever I play this I want to get as many matches in, in as little time as possible.

Yep happens quite often, if players refuse to sign then clubs will list them. A streamer got Sancho for 50mil as he flat out refused to sign an extension with an underperforming Dortmund.

Riddled with problems for me, this. It took 4 restarts just for the fucker to be usable as the game was bigger than my screen. Even now I have to click a centimetre above whatever I'm trying to select.

I have no goalscorers listed at the end of each game. Just a list of minutes that the goals were scored.

XG is completely fucked as DS said. Played a 3-3 game with Liverpool and our XG's were something like 0.14 vs 0.35. I've never failed to score or concede in a game.

The transfer window seems particularly hungry. Which I like, but it runs contrary to previous versions. I put some absolute shit on the transfer list and they were all gone within 2 weeks.

I think I'm going to put it to bed until it's patched. It was just winding me up last night.

Baz
14-11-2020, 08:53 AM
The only problem I have is the drag and drop when making a tactic. Kept missing the drop zone and had to do each player 3 or 4 times before it stuck. Not sure if it’s just on that screen or if the cursor is out on everything - will investigate later!

I started with Spurs and it's all the front 3. The rest of the squad is utter shite. To top it off I had 7 first team players out on 1 month+ injuries by October. I only had 1 centreback left and that was Dier, who may actually be worse than not having one at all.

You can sign anyone - it has a bug where most players will be refused a work permit on initial transfer but on appeal 3 months later they get accepted. I had 18 year old Brazilian nobodies getting them.

I saw your earlier post about playing it through the middle being the thing. Is spaffing it through the middle for a pacey finisher to run onto a game-breaker again?

I'm not gonna play the game, the idea of that just brings back happy memories of Hernandez scoring me a billion goals in FM11 or 13, whichever it was.

In a nutshell, yes. They've made attacking interplay so good this year that defences struggle against anything highly attacking, primarily 3 striker formations. Get 3 front man with pace/acceleration above 14 and you're gonna score for fun.

I smashed WBA 6-0 and then lost 3-1 to some Serbian farmers with only one real player, with all of their goals coming from a counterattack. At least I’ve not gotta worry about the Europa League, I guess.

The Utd board will seemingly sign anyone for you who fits the high potential youngster profile.

They got Camavinga and Demiral in the summer for me. In November I clicked onto Haaland's transfer offer page to see what his release clause is and the 'ask board to negotiate transfer for you' thing was there so I tried my luck and they've arranged a deal for January.

For £500 you can get one of the newer Ryzen 5 CPUs (https://www.amazon.co.uk/HUAWEI-MateBook-2020-Multi-Screen-Collaboration/dp/B085YM9K63/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=laptop&qid=1605873010&refinements=p_36%3A428448031&rnid=428432031&s=computers&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFKOE5CWENITE1FUTkmZ W5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA0MDc2MDIyQkJTUlQxUkdCR0pTJmVuY3J 5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA5NDkyODQ2MEtETVNIVjQ3Tzkmd2lkZ2V0T mFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3R Mb2dDbGljaz10cnVl) or get that i3 turned into an i5 or maybe an i7 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-EliteBook-Ultrabook-i7-4600U-Professional/dp/B07VSZ9TSZ/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=laptop&qid=1605873036&refinements=p_36%3A428448031&rnid=428432031&s=computers&sr=1-6)

The game does run pretty smoothly compared to the older days now though, so the one you linked would be fine to play it on most likely. I'd just maybe opt to spend that bit more if you plan on playing for 50+ years again personally.

So, every FM for at least a decade then? Admittedly I've not played in the last few years but I can't remember the last version I did where it was easy to actively sell players for a reasonable price, even decent ones. The CPU will, of course, throw money at each other for any old tat.

It's going to take a collapse to not reach the playoffs at least. We made it to the 4th round of the FA Cup too but Crystal Palace knocked us out 2-0. We'd dumped Sunderland out in the 3rd round however in some emphatic style.

Wrexham - 2020/2021

League

The media predicted a 16th place finish but as is often the case, they were wrong as we topped the table at the turn of the year and never once relinquished our position. We were were seven points clear of 2nd place at one stage yet a combination of injuries and a few daft defeats saw us go into the final day of the season still needing a draw to guarantee the title.

We never got it as we succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at home to Torquay, our 3rd defeat in our final five matches but thankfully (and perhaps rather deservedly) Hartlepool were held to a 1-1 draw so we claimed the title regardless. Hartlepool themselves only got back in it by being one of those three defeats as they took all three points a few weeks earlier in a 5-4 loss.

We had a few high scoring games during the season but none more so than the 8-5 win against Bromley. Leading 5-3 at half time, we found ourselves level with 7" minutes to play...a late flurry handing us the win.

https://i.ibb.co/pP79pzZ/wrex.png

Domestic Cups

FA Cup

Always a fan of some cup magic, we knocked Bradford PA out in the qualifying rounds with a 1-0 win in extra time to set up a first round encounter with Aldershot Town. Another 1-0 win followed leading us to a second round tie against Scunthorpe. Although we took a 2-0 lead we were again level as we heading into extra time but up stepped Adi Yussuf our Tanzanian winger to steal the win and set up a potential money spinning 3rd round appearance.

No Premier League outfit but a former one at least as we drew League One side Sunderland and the magic of the FA Cup was about to spark into life. 0-0 at half time in a closely fought game at The Racecourse Ground, we were holding our own before The Mackem's took the lead through C.Maguire from the penalty spot. Not to be downhearted we responded almost immediately as our top scorer Jordan Ponticelli levelled the score line. 46 goals in 54 appearances for the forward, 38 of which arrived in the league as he showed his quality throughout the season and throughout this match itself as he grabbed a second not long after putting us 2-1 up. Sunderland hit back through L. O'Nien. The scoring wasn't done though as Sanderson put in his own net to give us a 3-2 lead with just five minutes to go....five very long minutes...followed by another five minutes stoppage time and it was in the final seconds of that, that Sunderland once again levelled the scores. Maguire's shot coming off the post hitting our goalkeepers Lainton's back and ensuring extra time would be needed. 3-3.

Power struck first for Sunderland 3-4, Ponticelli grabbed his third, 4-4 and then Thomas scored a worldy with four minutes to spare! 5-4! Giant killing?! Not quite as one minute to go saw Power again level for Sunderland to take it to a penalty shoot out.

But we won that, 4-2.

This set up a fourth round tie against Crystal Palace, again at The Racecourse Ground but that was where our involvement ended as we were dispatched 2-0 in relatively easy fashion.

FA Trophy

We dumped Stalybridge Celtic out with a whopping 8-0 win to set up a fourth round tie against Barnet, extra time was needed but a 4-3 win eventually proved enough. Bromley came up in the 5th round and again we made hard work for ourselves but proved victorious by 3 goals to 2 thus setting up a quarter final encounter with Yeovil Town. I expected a little more from them but our 3-1 success was a doddle and could have been a lot more. Silverware en route? Not quite. Stockport County knocked us out of the semi finals 2-1 thus rendering the entire experience pointless.

Next Season

We're going to have to delve into market for the first time but I want to do so by bringing in youngsters as YDWAWK isn't really up my street on this particular save and I want top flight football sooner rather than later so I anticipate an overhaul of the squad, bringing in quality where we were lacking and generally tidying up the club as a whole as I didn't really pay much attention to anything other than the next match during this first season. Not much point going too deep with these updates until we're a little more settled, really.

We had our youth intake which was as you'd expect at this level but I signed them all to contracts regardless. We made £1.6M profit throughout the season so we have a little bit of leeway moving into League Two however it's me and I'm rather prodigal when it comes to virtual funds so if I have to spend in order to succeed then so be it.

Side note. I quite like the end of season stuff on this. I just don't like the fact you get it all before the playoffs have even finished.

I started a game with England U19's last night and I don't get how I'm meant to do it. How do you get knowledge about the players in your national pool? I can't hire scouts. There are scouting responsibilities in place for my assistant manager and coaches but they don't seem to be returning a whole lot of info. I'm a year in and my national pool has star ratings for about 4 players. 2 of which have already been capped at higher levels.

For international management, the key in FM20 was to go to the player search and just filter players eligible for England, then highlight them all and add them all to your National Pool. You can then edit the National Pool view to include 'Ability', 'Potential', 'Squad' (current England squad (main/U21/U19 etc).

Wrexham - 2021/2022

League

We were expected to finish rock bottom if the media were to be believed but it's long been broken and I was pleasantly surprised at how easily we adjusted and we never dropped from top spot from the end of January. In fact the lowest we'd been all season was 4th on the opening day of the season.

https://i.imgur.com/H4Uu6v4.png

No doubt we were helped by two of our three strikers.

https://i.imgur.com/NpKEn9z.png

Jordan Ponticelli grabbing 28 league goals, 32 overall in 39(2) appearances which was the same as his new striker partner scored overall to too albeit he'd played more games.

https://i.imgur.com/Rf6jr5E.png

Aramide Oteh was released by QPR at the end of the season and some suggested it was a pointless signing given he'd spent that season on loan to Stevenage also of League Two and mustered a grand total of no goals but he returned with vengeance and gave the entire division a bit of a kicking.

Other Transfers.

Kallum Cesay - Released by Tottenham he was a regular and at 19 looks more than capable of doing the business in League One.

Max Robson - Released by Tottenham and although he was a regular starter, he only managed the one goal.

Ramarni Medford-Smith - Released by Reading but ultimately a bit part player.

Regan Booty - Released by Notts County and started off well enough but a decent option coming off the bench.

Mohammed Sangare - Released by Newcastle and generally useless considering he's an international player for Liberia.

Jake Cain (Liverpool), Jay Stansfield (Fulham) and in the January window Josh Thomas (Swansea) - All loaned although Jurgen Klopp wasn't too happy I wasn't playing Cain where he wanted him to play so texted me moaning, we agreed he'd go back to Anfield and because I'm bitter like that, I cancelled the clubs affiliation with Liverpool.

FA Cup

No magic this time round as we conceded in the final seconds to be dumped out by Coventry City.

https://i.imgur.com/E4jkpTK.png

Carabao Cup

Same as above really as Blackpool done us over on penalties although we were fortunate to have even got that far as it was a late flurry that gave us any hope at all.

https://i.imgur.com/DM0qhCJ.png

EFL Trophy

https://i.imgur.com/HVB3QNV.png

Well, it is what it is, isn't it.

Next Season

We're going to raid the Premier League clubs for more released players I'd imagine and tidy up the club which was something we failed to do as expected last year but with a few additions I think we'll be more than competitive in League One and succeed in getting to the Championship relatively quickly. We need to for the finances as although we have £2.4M in the bank, we made a loss of £1.3M in the final month of the season owed most in part to upgrading youth facilities which will be completed by the end of the upcoming season. We only made a £200,000 loss all season according to the summary though so that's not too bad given my form.

Bed time.

Got Donnaruma coming in on a free in the summer.

Challenge will be trying to foist Dave Gayer off one someone.

Juventus' centre back situation is ridiculous, Demiral and De Ligt are the two best young centre backs in the game. I've already had Demiral off them, will be going back for De Ligt this summer.

Changing the way to make a quick sub really is stupid. It's so weird to select an outfield player, without seeing your subs quickly. I now don't use it at all - and just end up going to the main tactic screen.

Wrexham 2022/2023

League

A third successive promotion and into the Championship we go although it was a little gutting to miss out on the title itself but given we never returned to the top after being knocked off it on 2nd February, we can't complain too much. Our last game of the season saw ourselves face Fleetwood and if we avoided defeat we'd go up automatically so the 3-0 win was welcome.

Some big wins throughout the campaign, 5-1 against Wigan, 5-3 against Ipswich, 5-4 again Charlton and an absolute joke of a match in beating Preston 7-5, all away from home but our 10-4 win at home to Doncaster really took the biscuit. A hattrick of hattricks though....

https://i.imgur.com/FrMhKp6.png

Our total of 115 league goals was a record but we also had the worst defensive record in the league....madness.

Such an outlay in goals meant it was no surprise that we had at least one of the leagues top scorers, as it is though, we had the top three.

https://i.imgur.com/2MzJBiV.png

Promotion is promotion though.

https://i.imgur.com/wEaU4s0.png

FA Cup

We knocked out Colchester 6-2 in the first round and followed that up with home wins against Hartlepool (4-1) and MK Dons (1-0) so to reach the fourth round I had hoped for a money spinning draw but instead it turned out to be a bit of a north v south encounter as we were knocked out by Cardiff of all teams.

https://i.imgur.com/5Drwxku.png

EFL Cup

Scraped through the first round against Accrington Stanley on penalties after a 2-2 draw, Port Vale were seen off in the second but Premier League side Wolves showed their quality in the third and sent us packing.

https://i.imgur.com/Mf0kaB6.png

EFL Trophy

We actually faced the Wolves U23's in the group stage but were undone 3-2 but we did enough to qualify from it after wins against Bradford City and Grimsby Town. Leeds United U23's came in the second round and we dispatched them 3-0, Fleetwood were dumped out 4-0 in the third round and then I anticipated being knocked out by Arsenal U23's in the quarter finals, as it was we won 4-2 to set up a semi final against Man United U23's. I was a little gutted in the end. :moop:

https://i.imgur.com/R7RnPd7.png

Next Season

We've got a whole host of players who are due to leave as we won't renew their contracts and a decent sized transfer budget of £4,000,000 to play with. We've finally opted for one of the scouting packages so I hope we find one or two gems as we relied heavily on loan deals from our new feeder club Man City this season. Now it's going to get a bit fun though I'd imagine.

I want to finish as close to the play offs as possible so we just rapidly jump from Vanarama Conference to the Premier League but I sense this is where it gets a little trickier. I've been surprised at how little I've actually had to do overall. I'll do a squad update before we kick off the upcoming campaign but so far so good.

Using my tactic Smiff?

You bet your ass I am .

I tried tinkering with the two AM's as the amount of goals I concede is a joke but the DLP/AP experiment failed, so I put them back, then I tried dropping the poacher in place of a second DM but again it didn't really have the desired result. I think those five attacking players are absolutely vital so when I upgrade I imagine I'm going to absolute crucify teams.

Scouts are relatively useless and they say most my players are League Two standard and looking at their attributes, it's hard to disagree.

Rees Plant, a freebie from TNS for example bundled in 30 in 45 games in his debut season and right now he's got major interest from Premier League clubs.

https://i.imgur.com/9YiUeSp.png

Zanzala and Oteh aren't exactly anything special but all three just plunder in the goals.

Wrexham - Season 2023/2024

League

A mid season slump probably cost us a chance of sneaking into the playoffs but losing 17 games over the course of the season suggests we'd have got rinsed in the Premier League anyway. I put this down to the number of new arrivals and I can't see the upcoming season being any different. It was nice not to lose to Arsenal as we beat them 1-0 at home and drew 0-0 at the Emirates but I'm still bewildered how they managed to find themselves in this division. Sign of things to come? Beware if Patrick Vieira replaces Arteta, I say. Other managerial change I clocked was Steven Gerrard is now WBA manager but he did win the SPL....

https://i.imgur.com/8AyKqvc.png

FA Cup

We drew at The Racecourse which was nice but Tottenham put an end to our run in the replay. Nothing more than we expected tbh.

https://i.imgur.com/pvarVrL.png

EFL Cup

Not much different here either tbh but losing to Wigan was a little bit gutting given they are quite crap.

https://i.imgur.com/iuNRfzn.png

Transfers In

We made whole sale changes but scouting was an issue and quite a few I'd suggest were quite crap and if not for the loaned players, we'd have been in a whole world of trouble. I want to try move away from that for next season and since we have nearly £10M we can spend (mostly due to the sale of Rhys Plant), I reckon we've got more scope for some higher quality arrivals.

https://i.imgur.com/rPVgeKY.png

We probably wouldn't have finished in the clubs highest ever position since the 1970's too had it not been for Josh Thomas. Now a Welsh international. 34 goals in 50 appearances but he was out on his own in that regard.

End of the season and I get a message that his wages have increased to $5,300 due to 'match highest earner' (whatevs, he's leaving soon), I then click on his contract to see which day exactly he is leaving... I signed a 37yr old Yaya Toure to a 3 year contract by mistake :face:

Yup. I just grabbed the image off Google. I immediately download a dark, less retina destroying skin.

Brilliant. I've found it. Thanks.

EDIT: It would appear that that's the pregame editor one, I bought the in-game one. Or am I completely missing something here?

Sorry should've been obvious you meant the in game one when you said you'd bought it.

Booooooooooo!!!!!!

Never fear. It's not what I was hoping for. I wanted to stick those two celebs as the new owners and see if I could switch off the Brexit thing but alas, you can't do either.

Previous season (taken from the FM 2020 thread)

Parma - Season 2065/66

A very good season.

Serie A

https://i.imgur.com/c77zGh3.png

We were always in the hunt hovering around 3rd or 2nd, but after Christmas we got our noses in front and never looked back. Won the league with 2 games to spare. First time Parma have won the Serie A in their long history.

Special mention for my final league game against 2nd place Inter Milan. Every shot I had went in!

Italian Cup

Final against 2nd place Inter Milan.

Fairly even match but it meant Parma's first domestic double in their history.

Champions League

Group stages went down to the final game against Valeranga, but we beat them easily at home. Special mention for my old club Cork City.

Barca were always in the control. Lost it in the first leg.

End of season first team squad.

Key players:

https://i.imgur.com/fTSGklq.png

My star striker. Broke the Serie A record for most goals in a season.

https://i.imgur.com/rNB9MlG.png

My big signing last summer and easily our best player of the season. Missed the last month of the season due to injury.

https://i.imgur.com/lcXZyuq.png

He may be young, but he was a consistent starter in the centre of my defence. At 18 yrs old, he should become a star player providing he's not poached.

Next Season: Probably going to stay at Parma and push for success in the Champions League. Bit of an issue with our stadium only having 27,000 capacity, so the income isn't great in this regard.

Shout if you do not want my vintage game in your FM 2021 thread. Otherwise...

Parma - Season 2066/67

The aim was to improve on the previous season, wining Serie A again and go far in the Champions League.

Turns out we had a very good domestic season again, topping the 100 points total and my superstar striker topping the goal scorer charts.

https://i.imgur.com/tWMz6np.png

Won the Italian Cup, beating AC Milan 1-0 in the Final

https://i.imgur.com/Ftf1Y55.png

You'll see from above PSV stopped our crusade in Europe at the semi final stage.

Overall a decent season and my players dominated the awards. Bit weird that i had the top 2 GKs.

First season as Arsenal FM21 Touch: I only signed one player, Arezo, amd sold Mustafi in January having not signed or sold anyone in the summer. Finished 6th and potless, got to the Europa League final against Lille and conspired to cough up a 94th minute equaliser then Xhaka missed the decisive penalty forcing it to sudden death.

I've been given a hundred million quid and a stern reprimand to improve things, had a couple of 'bad result could be a sacking' news items at the end of the season. Looking to sell Lacazette, Kolasinac, Xhaka and let Özil and Luiz leave on a free to hopefully bring in two or three top quality players and bring the rest of the young guns through around them.

Oxford City - 2020/21

It was a busy summer for The Hoops as wholesale changes were made right off the bat and twenty-one new arrivals moved to the club. In part this was due to a wafer thin squad but the goal was to go up at the first time of asking and for much of the season that looked as though it would be via the playoffs given Havant & Waterlooville's storming start to the season but a spectacular bottle job in May put ourselves and Maidstone United right in it with Havant taking just two points from their final six league games, defeated by ourselves and then Maidstone on the final day causing them to finish 3rd. Maidstone went into that game knowing that if they were to claim top spot then they would need to beat the former long time leaders and hope that 4th placed Welling United caused an upset at Court Place Farm, our ground. That didn't occur and up we went, surprisingly so did Ebbsfleet United who were perhaps the worst of all the promotion contenders.https://i.imgur.com/ncO67q7.png

Goals were easy to come by and we rattled in more than our fair share. James Roberts and Harvey Bradbury being the main two but a decent spread throughout the squad meant we weren't lacking in that department.

https://i.imgur.com/7P1JXxH.png

https://i.imgur.com/9TNZl70.png

Our fortune in the domestic cups was what it was. Torquay United knocking us out of the FA Cup in the fourth qualifying round meant any chance of some money spinning ties was put on hold and though we reached the quarter finals of the FA Trophy, our 3-2 defeat to Brackley was disappointing given we were in full flow back in February.

https://i.imgur.com/ewfmEMt.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/nDda0pT.png

Our squad did all it needed to do as the sole goal was to move up a division but we have plenty of work to do in the summer once again given most the new arrivals were on twelve month contracts. I'm hoping to snap up the released Premier League/Championship players as is the norm.

https://i.imgur.com/zj2l12H.png

*I tried on the last version to make Oxford City the most dominant side in the world beating all records like the total Premier League wins, Champions League wins and if any remember my efforts there, we didn't do too badly.

Unfortunately it is going to be on touch because quite frankly I don't have the time to rattle out seasons on the full version and found most of my time was spent just faffing around with things I have no interest in.

Similar to Bruh, does anyone play the Touch version on the Switch? I'm tempted to buy it but I've read the controls are a bit annoying.

I hate FM Touch. It feels every bit like the mobile phone app it is (unless it has improved hugely since FM19's version).

Cheers. Might get it then.

Have you played FM Mobile? There's definitely more depth to Touch than it.

I've played all 3 and Touch felt a lot closer to Mobile than to the proper version to me.

Bought FM, first one since 14 and I completely forgot how fucking hard this game is. Took over Palermo in Serie C and got 2 wins to start off, before going 9 games without a win and running (scoring about 5 goals in the process). Somehow the board are “pleased” with my performance so it’ll be a while before I’m put out of my misery

Season 2067/68

After my successful exploits at Parma, the Ayr Utd job became available again in the summer of 2067. They finished mid season and seemed to had sold all of the decent youngsters i have previously acquired. I had unfinished business in Scotland with Ayr from my previous stint so i resigned at Parma and took the job at Ayr.

Transfers:

I bought and sold a few in preseason. The top 3 free transfers are youngsters who weren't going to make it at my previous Parma team; i made them redundant on my last day. I would show you screenshots of the transfers, but I'm a few season past here currently.

League:

Having managed to off load a few of the shit that the previous fella bought in, we had a decent season, but again Hearts were the dominant force as per usual. My 9,000 stadium being no match for their 50,000+ stadium income.

https://i.imgur.com/o3H3Hde.png

https://i.imgur.com/XKm65en.png

Cups:

I did manage to get one over Hearts in the League Cup final. Didn't deserve it, but we'll take it.

https://i.imgur.com/DnPPu0r.png

Awards:

The only award my players received was the Young Player of The Year award.

https://i.imgur.com/s4NbRYH.png

Aim for next season is to improve the squad, try and finally get a stadium expansion to improve finances and finish higher in the league.

Mobile is a paddling pool (and pretty easy), Touch is a swimming pool and PC is the ocean.

The minor update for touch has apparently binned all my facepack and logos :moop:

Got sacked by Palermo after a dozen or so games, so I started a new save with Feyenoord, whom I like because their badge is just a big “F”.

First season went okay, finished 4th. Made a lot of cheap investments over the following summer so I ended up with a bloated squad and managed to draw the first four league games of the season. Tried to get rid of some squad players so I offered a few out. For some reason the entire squad took grievous offense to my attempt at offloading some bit-part attacking midfielder who apparently wasn’t part of any social group to begin with. I go into the team meeting, and am immediately faced with twenty “Disenchanted” players asking me to explain myself. I tell them he’s not really very good, they (or rather their ombudsman) retort by telling me he is actually quite good. I’m then forced to select between essentially telling them all to fuck off, or “I’m really pleased with how this meeting has gone, thanks for the productive conversation”. Not wanting to start a completely unnecessary row with my whole team, I choose the nonsense option. Predictably, they all become furious and my assistant informs me on the next screen that he has just observed a catastrophic drop in morale. Thanks mate.

I found I struggled with keeping players happy on the full version too and the 'gestures' are largely just a waste of time. At least on Touch that doesn't seem to be as big a problem.
