Which is a shame. A Trump triggered global stock market crash would be very funny.

The FTSE 100 is down 11% in what, 2 full days of trading?

NASDAQ 100 on course for its worst period since 2000, worse than the 08 crash and Covid. But it'll bounce, mate.

The interesting thing though, is that if there is one issue he has been consistent on since even back in the 90s, it's his love for tariffs.

Hong Kong closed at a 28 year low. Taiwan all-time low.

I stopped buying the dip aggressively, and instead have done some sensible things. I used the new tax year to take money out of my company shares and some fund shares and bought them in the isa at the same price. Hopefully the recovery* comes in the isa and it’s been a bit of an extra Isa allowance.

Will return to dip buying on Wednesday once the real bloodbath begins.

My “paper losses” are comical though. Think the tariff plan wiped about £30-40k off my portfolio in the space of about 5 days.

The best bit of being a rivian shareholder though is it’s so shit and low its tariff proof.

WTI crude oil plummeted to $55.60 a barrel, meaning it was down 6.68%. Brent crude oil, which is usually used as a global benchmark of oil prices, fell to $58.84 at one point, a 6.34% drop.

It's significant to see the price of oil drop below $60 because we haven't seen such prices since February 2021 - when the world was facing the Covid pandemic.

Then why have I just paid more for petrol than I did last week?

Winding back tariffs on chips, laptops, iPhones etc. so should (hopefully) see a surge in tech stocks on Monday.

Hopefully that includes super micro computer. I’d quite like to unload my (inexplicably) large stake in that.

Dell also.

A rare green day.

Feels like once a week there’s a huge rocket day, and once a week it reverses. And it’s often in random order.

Fuck being a short seller in this market. Must be some amount of people getting liquidated. If you catch the right side of it though, laughing.

Sold out of a bunch of tech today, and bought into more dividend paying us companies ie chevron and Pepsi. The dollar is so weak at the moment to the pound that it feels like even if the company does shit, the dollar could strength significantly.

That’s my strategy today and I’m sticking with it (this week). Maybe even until tomorrow if the reversal happens I’ll just buy a load of them back.
