The picture made me lol. I've had it for over three years now which must be a record for me. My favourite ever avatar was my TR one of James with a moustache, but that must have died with whatever was left of the place.

I used to open a thread in the build up to New Year running a poll for people to vote on which Ian should be my avatar for the year (from a selection I'd put up to avoid the obvious votes for Watkins, Huntley, etc.)

Only one of these happened on the new board it seems: https://www.thethirdhalf.co.uk/showthread.php?753-Pick-Ian-s-2016-Avatar-Superstar!

But according to this thread (https://www.thethirdhalf.co.uk/showthread.php?378-The-story-behind-your-Avatar&p=24515#post24515) a) I'd run it each of the three years before that and b) the previous winner had been Ian Hislop. If this has been my fourth I honestly can't remember who else I had. But out of a combination of laziness and thinking it'd be hard to improve upon the good doctor Malcolm I haven't changed it in ages.

That second thread also reminded me that's when Benny / Mr Chorizo revealed he'd been slowly updating his Ainsley Harriott avatar with more zoomed in ones to see if anybody noticed. :D

Justice for Ian Kognito.

As for mine, I just found it funny how weird Crouch's face is when he's howling in laughter.

We moved to this place just before a world cup, this pic was taken in the Scotland training camp publicly around that time, for some reason it struck a chord for 5 minutes.

The excellently named journeyman Baron Davis was leading the plucky underdog Golden State Warriors to an unexpected post-season victory over top-ranked Dallas at the time I believe, if I still have him. How things have changed.

I turned off avatars so it would be less obvious I'm fucking off at work but then one day realized I hadn't an avatar on the new website so I chose Sade because she's cool.

My old avatar of Pepe smoking a cigar in a sweater and polo was ruined by the alt-right racists.
