I was gonna take a week off work for this on the original release date but will now ask if I can take next week off instead. I've been waiting so long for this game, can't even remember when the rumours of this game being made began. The original game from 97 one the PES is my all time favourite game by a long distance. The demo looked amazing, just a bit too much button mashing but I'm sure it'll be fine.

I assume it's just the pinned tweet on their account he's linking to.

And yet it's a job of, I'm going to say, two seconds to copy/paste the bit of the link that has the full account URL in it and paste into another tab.

I know you're a doctor and not an IT specialist but I reckon can you can manage that.

I'm bored, I'll write you a wikihow if you like.

Maybe we'd just better hire an IT person to come to your house. I'll try and find one who doesn't have a cough.

I've never played any of the Final Fantasy games. Any fancy chucking in a summary of what they involve? Story, characters, XP, levelling etc?

My brother is in IT, perhaps he'd know.

Aren't you into open world and choosing your own skills? This is the exact opposite.

It's an RPG. It used to be a different kind of RPG but now Square's output is decidedly not that.

You get to build your own party from a selection of characters collected as you progress, combat is turn based and you can get very tactical depending on how deep you're willing to go into the magic systems, etc. The story is as linear as you'll find.

I haven't played a Final Fantasy since 10, but I'll be buying this.

Also all of them incentivize a lot of XP grinding (by have ridiculously hard post-main-story bosses to kill).

It's really good. Some bits are really different from the original game though. Now we wait for the next installment. It's probably gonna be a trilogy this remake.

If they remake IX it'll make me complete.

Is this just on the PS4? I'm woefully out of touch with all sorts of things, but saw a story about this yesterday and I yearned for it to be available on Steam. Such a great game. They'd better not have fucked about with the golden saucer!

I believe it's PS4 exclusive for now and then comes to the PC later.

I doubt this will include the Golden Saucer. It's the first part of a trilogy.

12 month PS4 exclusive.

I'll answer in spoiler tag how long the game is

It's just Midgar

Wait what? They're remaking FF7 in three parts? That's pretty lol.

I shan't be eagerly anticipating the PC release then. Revisit in ten years when all three have been released.

The first part is a lot longer though, I played the original PS4 port before this came out and would say I fell through the church roof about 2 hours in. That's just happened on the remake at 8 hours in. A glance at chapter numbers suggest I'm not even halfway yet. I paid full price for it and am happy with it so far, looks amazing on a pro plugged into an OLED.

Apparently I'm on chapter 14 of 18, 20 hours in. Honestly despite it being 'just Midgar', remember Midgar in the original wasn't a big section of the game really. This remake is proper AAA world building stuff. They have managed to draw the story out without stretching it too far for the most part. Also having more interactions and time spent in different slums and with different characters definitely makes big events more meaningful, for me at least.

Holy shit what a game. 10/10 and it's possibly my new favourite game ever along with the original FF7.
