Crazy stuff. Thought he'd at least see out the season.

Arsenal should be all over that. It would probably go terribly but it’s worth the seethe. Bring Harry Kane back while we’re at it.

Clearly saving United from having to pay compensation.

Well in small pockets.

Think that's a poor decision, who do they have lined up who is better?

Hopefully they return to the Jacques Santini/Christian Gross school of comical foreign appointment.

Arsene Wenger got 10 years off the back of getting to a Champions League final, Poch got 6 months. Madness. Do they realize that their current position in club rankings is largely due to him?

Wasn't that Southampton bloke the anointed successor for about three weeks?

Not sure who would make me happier, 'Arry or Sven. Get the handsome bloke in the shirt from AFCON, Herbert or whatever.

No problem with this.

I think the idea of a manager is an increasingly dying one anyway.

Had to happen. I haven’t seen someone so unhappy in my entire life. Sad that he had to be sacked, though, but it makes sense for him.

I'd imagine this news is making quite a few binmen feel a bit twitchy.

Bayern should appoint Pochettino forthwith, I'm sure his mate Philippe will put a word in.

The scenes if they (Spurs) appoint Mourinho.

Sacking suggests the replacement has given the green light on coming in soon.

I think it's bonkers from the Club but back to the pit of misery with them.

According to Sky, Mourinho is nailed on to be appointed. Suggests they had him lined up before sacking.

Lewis

Tottenham winning something would be worth it if it gave Mourinho the chance to give it the biggest biggun of all time.

mugbull

The Mourinho rumors have been floating around for awhile, mainly due to the fact that he came to see the team play a couple times this season for some nothing league games and why else would he be in the stands for Tottenham - Crystal Palace

It would be such a shit, shit appointment though. Win the league cup maybe but then leave 18 months in having turned every player against the club. Not to mention what his relationship with Levy would be.

Something had to change, but didn’t Eriksen and others just have their heads turned by wanting to leave for “bigger” clubs and not leaving? How does bringing in Mourinho (even the Porto/Chelsea cult leader version) fix that?

That appointment might just work.

Spurs are small and unsuccessful enough to house Mourinho’s victim complex.

You should be able to do a better job of faking this than Taz did with his pube sandwich.

Can't actually remember what the thing was in "if [x] I'll eat a pube sandwich", mind. But he was fucking adamant he was serious right up until the unlikely thing happened.

A pube sandwich really takes some effort. This one doesn’t, unfortunately

It's a real sliding doors moment, last season's CL final. If Spurs had won then essentially Klopp would be in a similar position had they experienced a hangover from the defeat and started slowly this season. Not quite that simple as there are other issues at Spurs I know, but reckon if Liverpool hadn't done it last season Salah etc might have started making noises about going on to bigger things.

I think he'll do well, unfortunately. Spurs have the kind of industrious squad he needs to work with.

He's gonna play a midfield of Wanyama, Ndombele and Dier every game and it'll be the shitkicking of the century, while somehow Kane will get them 3 points every game from a flukey 86th minute header. They'll somehow end up in the CL and Mourinho will claim it's a bigger achievement than Liverpools league trophy, as it were.
