I thought we were playing Hibs today. Turns out it was last night. 3-1. Linton, Longstaff and Lascalles. St. Etienne visit on Saturday.

If you 'support' a player rather than a team, you should lose both eyes and let's say an arm for good measure.
That's pretty much all young people do these days. Most of the little fuckwits 'support' Messi and would no matter where he rocked up.

Aren't you just supporting eleven of them on a weekly basis anyway?
I see no issues in supporting a player and following his career, it's no different to following a club.

You're supporting the team in what is a team game. Who fills the shirt is ultimately not at all important. We only want players in/out of our teams to enhance its chances of winning.

It's not like supporting a big team these days doesn't involve some mental gymnastics.
Supporting a 'player' is obviously sillier but I imagine it's mostly young people, and surely if you replace the key word with "idolize" it's hardly a new thing.

And there’s not a thing wrong with that

It does if you end up in tears because he fails to come off the bench in an 11v11 pre season friendly. It suggests you don't know what you're watching and have the wrong expectations.
This is adults I'm talking about, although in South Korea most of the adults are just kids but hung over.

Being bitter about everything is such a shit way to live your life. It shouldnt be a surprise that i contradict basically everything you say, i couldn’t imagine a more polar opposite

You just wait and see what most people say about anything and then say the opposite. Trying to be more interesting by forcing yourself to be alternative is about as shit a way to live your life too but I suppose at least you might grow out of it when you reach adulthood.

'Supporting' a player in the sense that instead of following a single club you just follow their club at all times is indeed dumb. Liking a player and taking a sympathetic interest in wherever they go to play is pretty normal behavior.
I "supported" the heck out of Cuauhtemoc Blanco, because he was an absolute boss. I mean, my team has always been America, but when he went to play for Veracruz (or Necaxa, or Dorados, or Puebla or...) I started watching their matches, because he was good to watch. When America played Veracruz (or Necaxa, or...) though, I would definitely support America.

On the subject of supporting players, I just remembered this (https://twitter.com/mlacidarts/status/814588717134442498) exists.

I was curious what he's up to these days - he's a governor?

Indeed. If he ever runs for president, I will vote for him, no doubt.
