I've never gotten the huge craze over Italian, it's decent but not close to my top 5.

Try Georgian for East Europe (could also go in Asia I guess like Turkey). Went to a Georgian place in Poland and it was the fucking tits. Class grilled meats, dumplings filled with soup and these awesome folded type pizzas.
