I watched a few of the womens games over the years and I find it decent. The only thing I dont understand is how shocking the goalkeeping is. It was really bad. Jamaican qualifed for their first ever tournument. No idea who any of the players are or who is the best team.
Im guessing womens football is going through the transation of what the mens game went through 50 years ago. The only coverage I see of the womens game is internationally. This is why the players of old, are regarded so highly becuase you only got to see coverage of the World Cup, and not any type of league game.

I'll give it another go.
I've tried a couple of other times but I was always put off by the goalkeeping.

Why is it so bad, I can't understand why? I thought the women's game would have problems with long cross-field balls but that isnt an issue at all. It's just the comedy goalkeeping.

Apparently (I haven't watched any women's football in at least 5 years) it has gotten a lot better. Hopefully that's the case.
Japan apparently whooped us in the last edition so that's Group D instantly the group of death.

I think women goalkeepers have a better sense of self-preservation. You're not going to see a woman between the sticks charge out for a 1 v 1 Schumacher style or fly through five people to punch a corner away.
The level in all positions is lower. It is just way more noticeable when a keeper fails to deflect a shot than when an outfield player makes a poorly timed run, for example.
Have they given them smaller goalposts yet?

I’ve watched us a few times. We’re fun to watch, and Sam Kerr is arguably Australia’s best footballer right now.
I do hope we go deep, and I'll definitely find a way to be watching the Brazil game.
Alex Scott >>>>>>> literally all other thingsShe’d go to the opening of an envelope, but she is indeed pretty amazing.
Also there’s a female footballer called Niamh Cashin who is pretty much VVD tier when it comes to women’s football, and she’s only 17. Next few World Cups she will be the standout.
Have they given them smaller goalposts yet?
I heard a thing about this the other day and a few current players were vocally against it.
I'm not really sure why it was mostly just footballspeak but there we go.

They play on normal sized pitches so the goals should stay the same.
I don't really have much of an opinion either way but if the players don't want it to change then I don't see why it should.

Doesn't the argument run that modern 'lady goalies' are actually the right size for the game/goal (as it was invented) and it's the men who are freakishly too big in the modern age?

Simple solution. Charge man ticket prices for the games

It's like here when our ladies final in football gets 50,000 people and there's loads of patting themselves on the back, until you realise 40,000 is free ticket kids.
If they pull crowds, then the wages will go up. Something markets something.

Is there any popular sport where the women pull numbers better than men. tennis?

Foxy boxing.
Volleyball maybe? Not that there are big crowds for that.
Jimmy Floyd

Where there is a bigger crowd for women's versions, it's because of perving.
I'm coming round to the idea that golf should just mash the sexes up, see what happens.
Is there a big difference? I am guessing that men can whack the ball much farther.

They can, but women start from tees that are closer to the hole so you can make an even playing field.

They'll probably get that changed for being sexist in due course.

We should have mixed football leagues by now. But then again, i was told recently that in the WWF, they no longer have the men putting the women in the crippler crossface or tombstone piledrivers.
I think that women's cycling has the potential to be as popular as the male counterpart. Both look the same (it's not like you can notice a 1 mph difference on the TV) and since the races are shorter, there is usually less timewasting. On the other hand, why bother?

The thing about intergender wrestling is that WWF/E only really used it in two ways:
- Chyna beating someone in the midcard.
- Mae Young taking bumps because she seemingly wanted to die in public.

Someone has just been on the radio explaining that the reason for low ticket sales is due to locals thinking the games were going to be sold out. I would also like to take this opportunity to confirm that the reason that Sarah Jones in year 7 never asked me out because she though I was already dating another girl.
Get over it, man.
