Think I'm missing something quite obvious here but do I need to add all websites to the vault and then reset each sites password to one of the randomly generated ones?

If you want fresh passwords for your sites in the valult, then yes.

Well, isn't that kind of the point of the whole thing? Just clarifying because it's not obviously stated anywhere that you would need to do that.

I generally use the same password pattern everywhere. Its not a random generated password I use for everything. I

That's basically it yeah. Just install the browser extension and let it prompt you every time you log into something to add it to the database, then change them as required/desired. Mine are all randomly generated at this stage.

Yes, all that LastPass does is save the passwords you give it.

This is sort of how I did it. Rather than spending hours/days changing every single password in one go, I just did it every time I logged into a site. After about 3 months they were pretty much all updated with new random passwords.

That said, I'm going to transition all of them to Google one of these days when I've time and close it off. LastPass still doesn't work properly on mobile.

Right cool. I’ve added the majority of my existing log ins and passwords at the minute, but I’ll go through and generate new passwords as I go.

I use BitWarden rather than last pass, but the mobile app isn't perfect either.

If you like (and this offer is extended to everyone) I can keep track of all your passwords for you, so you can have peace of mind.

I prefer 1Password to LastPass, but it's not bad. Anyone not using one should check it out (and https://haveibeenpwned.com).

LastPass is free anyway, I think most of them are.
