View Full Version : What are you shit?

Pepe

So now that we all know that we are dons one thing or another, time for the good stuff: What are you really shit at?

I'll start: I am complete dogshit at videogames, as some people in here can confirm. I used to like them and play a lot but still, I am shit. Can't remember the last time I ever finished a game. I actually used to be good at Street Fighter 2 as a kid but apart from that, complete shit. I don't think I even managed to finish Ocarina of Time. :D

So, tell us your incompetencies.

Can't lie in, no matter how tired I am the day before.

This is going to be a wealth of info. Now we'll see how fucking hopeless we are as a community.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Pepe, you're a beast on Haxball.

My memory is awful. I can put my keys or wallet down and two minutes later be looking all over the house for them.

Pepe

I forgot about haxball. Can't run on a straight line while dribbling the ball on that one.

I'm shit at trying. If something beats me first time then I won't bother again.

I have no attention span, so I struggle to hold conversations anywhere with something else happening near me, drives my girlfriend nuts when we're out for dinner or drinks and I'm looking everywhere when she's talking. My friend who's a teacher says she notices a lot of similarities between me and the pupils she's got who have ADHD, so I should probably be claiming some money or something for it.

Like Benny I'm hopeless with staying focused with shit I don't care about.

Hence, why I'm on TTH and not doing actual job-work.

I can confirm that Pepe is shit at computer games. Got your back, bro.

I'm shit at all sorts of things but let's start with doing practical things. Appliances, cars, shit like that, absolutely no idea how to fix anything along those lines. If I didn't have a landlord who was obliged to fix my stuff when it breaks I'd be fucked when anything went down and have to spend a shitload getting people in.

The thread title. :D

I'm shit at smiling for a start. I don't do it naturally at all, other than to laugh/grin at individual moments so I make an effort when I feel it necessary and end up looking stern half the time and like a retarded hillbilly the rest of it.

Also, guttingly, sports. I played on plenty of teams but I'm shite. Tactically sound in rugby and football and tennis, enough to play decent standard at a young age, particularly when those around you lack the cerebral side to the sport but with little talent or athleticism to back it up.

Oh and music. I'm a massive consumer and sung in a band for a very short while, but I can't really sing, cannot take to any instrument and and am devoid of rythm.

Getting things done. It's always been my problem and it's kind of a serious problem, I cannot bring myself to for example clean my flat on a regular basis, go running on a regular basis, do homework before the last minute.

I can't think of anything I'm shit at. Specialist tasks are specialist tasks, so you can't include them (and I've never tried any), so as far as everyday occurrences go I can generally turn my hand/head to most things.

Like Pepe, I am really bad at computer games (I hate 'video games' as a phrase for some reason). I played FIFA at my mate's recently and I was losing 7 or 8 nil every time I played. I put it down to them being saddos but then they don't know I have probably close to 100,000 posts on a Football Manager forum.

I was also pretty bad at FM, though at least had my moments because it's more strategy. If the game involves real time reaction I don't stand a chance.

Lewis

You're crap at video games because you don't play them. I'm crap at playing the piano.

I'm crap at the particular type of small talk that one is expected to engage in with strangers. I could go on for hours about utter rubbish like matching footballers up with breakfast foods or the uneven distribution of jam to fruit. But The Weather? Or The Family? Maybe 10 seconds tops.

I don't think I'm shit at anything. I can do most things quite well without being brilliant at them. I guess I'm shit at being organised but that's because I find being organised boring so just do things in a haphazard way.

I'm really bad at selling myself. To an employer, to a group of people discussing an idea. Decent enough with girls and shit but at a professional level thats just not my grind. Trying to improve though.

Keeping myself on the straight and narrow. I have a good career and own good money but I have so many demons I feel like I'm constantly battling. Unfortunately, I press the "self destruct" button way to often although a lot less than previously. Ultimately, I have everything lined up on a silver platter going forward from growing up with a brass spoon - my only problem is keeping myself focused and staying sober. But that's what I'm shit at...

I have that self destructive nature too. Do you find when things are going well you end up sabotaging it from within but only realise what you've done when it's too late?

I'm often fully aware of the damage I'm causing but still don't really care. It's getting a lot better but still far from perfect.

I'm crap at listening. Also my attention span is really poor, even with stuff I'm really interested in.

My memory's crap.

Wrapping presents. Not that that affects my life much... Also remembering whether to use 'affects' or 'effects'.

Oh and golf. I've never actually played proper golf, but mini golf and adventure golf.

Valid. I make no effort to keep in contact with the vast majority of people. It's pretty sad really, all these good friends of yours that are only really friends because they're nearby.

I'm similar in keeping touch. I've moved about a lot and make a good few friends, mainly in jobs, but once I move on I'll make no effort whatsoever in keeping in touch with any of them. Seen photos from a wedding back home at the weekend and can't believe how much people have kept in touch.

Anything to do with music or dancing. I have no rhythm.

Yep, +1 for dancing.

Other than that, my sense of direction is piss poor and I'm pretty useless at making things/DIY. I'd be fucked if the apocalypse comes.

Can't do languages or instruments.

I'm pretty strong in academic stuff otherwise, so it's an annoying little blind spot.

I used to know someone who was not only the brightest in our school - a selective school - and went on to do a PhD at Cambridge in something like English, but also played three instruments to grade 8 or better, played rugby for the county, and has two first class hundreds at cricket. Add the fact that he was really nice and used to troll shithouse teachers, and you have all the makings of a right cunt. I bet he can't make toast or something.

I'm pretty hopeless at everything.

I'm shit at going to bed early. I also can barely whistle.

Historically I'm pretty bad at talking to girls in a romantic sense, but I'm very good at becoming good friends with them. Like the anti-Mert.

Yea, I was going to say sense of direction for me, but those other 2 as well...
