Does anyone listen to them? I'm looking to get invovled, but have no knowledge of platforms and pricing.

Google Play Books and Audible (Amazon) are the only ones I've ever used. I'd imagine it's not hard download them for free somewhere though.

I've downloaded audible for the sole purpose of listening to THE DEATH OF WCW as narrated by co-author Bryan Alvarez. Based on this very small sample I'm a fan. Ideal falling asleep material, tho I wish my phone could sense when I've dozed off and pause it. End up spending a good 10 minutes figuring out where i got to previously each time.

Audible is good. I've poured everything Stephen King has ever written in to my ears.

Yep, big fan although they are expensive to make so the selection tends to be a lot more mass market than when you're just choosing a book to read.

There is also a risk of your chosen book having been narrated by a dogshit narrator, or a completely stupidly chosen one (Americans trying to do English accents and vice versa need avoiding like the plague).

I just have a subscription to Audible (for whatever it is a month, no idea, 12 quid?) and that gets you a book of your choosing a month, which in my case is more than enough to tide you over.

£8 I think. Did you just fail the 'price of milk test', Jim?

Does it come with Amazon Prime?

Obviously. All I know is that Audible, Spotify and my butler, Daniels, are all about a tenner a month.

I just yarr 'em. The Partridge audiobooks are superb.

Just reminded me that I need to cancel Spotify (and Netflix). Lose track of all the bloody subs.

I've amassed five Audible credits. Hit me.

I plucked for Audible in the end and I can't recommend it enough. Eight books in.

If I am able to obtain audiobooks via an illegitimate way, what’s the best app to use on iPhone so that it saves my place when I get in and out of the car?
