You're out of luck boys, this isn't Nintendo. Sony don't hate their customers (as much) and aren't mental so they'll simply make enough to satisfy demand and actually ship them to shops so people can just go and buy one.

I missed the PS1 as I had a Dreamcast I think. PS2 was where I switched to Sony.

My brother recently pulled out the old Playstation and we played a solid afternoon of Crash Team Racing. I'm going to say that it's almost the equal of Mario Kart 64, and definitely better than any of the other racing games of its era. Quality title.

Of the stuff we got working last week the original Worms held up the best but only after we remembered the cheat for unlimited banana bombs. GTA was ok apart from the absolutely god-awful controls, I'm not sure how we put up with it.

Indeed. I bought a disk of the 1st not that long ago and played it on PS3, amazing.
I played the shit out of 1 when I was young. 2 was alright, was there a third?

I don't recall them making a 3rd. I know I had the demo for 2 and wanted to play the full version, but never did.
One was a masterpiece though.

Croc was surprisingly great. I saved all my pennies to get it as a kid, and I regret no aspect of that. I played that game inside out.

Syphon Filter! Those games were great. It's a shame they didn't seem to make it onto any future console generations.

I've seen a few negative responses online but it seems okay to me. I guess I'd have liked a Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider game on there, but even without them I'm still looking forward to playing on it.

Crash is the only one that seems an obvious miss, but with the remaster being out, I can kinda see why. Same for Spyro.

I'd rather go for a cheap SNES mini but they just don't exist at that price.
I posted in the general game thread that I’d hacked up my PS Classic to add better games, since then retroarch has come out on it. Only in beta though so I’ll wait a little before doing it I think.

I mean, a Pi starter kit costs me £50 and could theoretically emulate more. I am looking at my PSX case and wonder if I could stealth a Pi under the hood without gutting it. It's an impossible task but at least I've managed to fish out the loose screw I jammed in the drive when I was 15.
Plus a Pi has Bluetooth, which makes it infinitely better than the Classic in terms of controller availability.
