Makes me believe they lost the deal very suddenly or they didn't want to trigger UEFA with some similar competition. Transfers are correct to the end of last season. Bah. :(

I do like how you can actually win the ball in midfield with lone strikers now. Seems like you're given more control over their movement rather than rigidly sticking to a defender. Set pieces seem a little knackered. Like, I can't select a player when I send a corner in or cross a free kick in from wide. All the new teams do mean you're not getting fake teams chucked into European comeptitions to make the numbers up, though.

I hear budget adjusting still isn't in Master League. Given that's the only mode myself, Baz and The Reid play, its a bit rubbish. Ending up with hundreds of millions to spend but no wages to pay them just makes the game pointless sadly.

Been letting the AI play itself in the light of that stuff and there's definitely something not right. Not see anybody put the brakes on clean through but, out wide, they definitely seem to ponder. Long range shots are non-existent. They seem to favour cut-backs and low crosses in the box but I've definitely seen some clubs benefit from proper crosses. Lukaku scoring from a high cross and PSG were trying to score from that.

It makes them look indecisive around the box.

EDIT: Okay, I've seen Roma launch a long ranged effort against me and score from one as well. In the next match against Atletico Madrid, there was a one-on-one where the striker appeared to run wide from no pressure. Suspect.

I'm going to put the AI through some more tests tonight. Specifically, if I can defend against the cutbacks and low crosses, does it have a plan B?

Well, first match lampooned that. Fener beating my Monaco 2-1 due to a last minute winner where the AI was clinical 1 v 1. No cutbacks or anything, just route one and their first goal came from a corner fuck up. I'm thinking the low cross spam is because teams of a certain level favour that Barca bullshit. Having said that, Juve didn't try it much either. I dunno whether the complaints are coming from the PC version or something.

Well, that's all the leagues sorted for me. Bundlesliga, CSL, some K-League extras and Liga MX. I might just do some basic stuff with the international kits and finally get Master League under way. EDIT: Nah, China's knackered. 24 central defenders of the same name. :D

The Chinese league finally got installed. The infinite player thing seems to just be a UI glitch. All I'm left with now are 4 spare Asian sides.

Cabaye and Traore in as freebies. Going to try out tactics in Exhibition mode until something sticks.

Well, my first Master League win came courtesy of Karius chucking a Shelvey shot in. I can't stress enough how hard it is to gain and hold a lead in this.

He's there but Karius hasn't moved out on loan. I think that's because I just went to sort out unlicensed leagues so Buffon was a free agent, rather than at PSG.

Seems like my wins will have to come from a lucky attack and then holding possession. Just had a 1-0 win against Man Utd by holding 72% possession. Rondon's rancid in front of goal but he's semi-decent with his head. I'm letting the AI switch our tactics and we seem to be better in 5-3-2 mode.

I'm going to have a purge in January and probably look for a better striker. Making 10th in the league is going to be difficult.

Right, I've ruined it. I have no decent striking options in the transfer window and Rondon is rancid. Finished last season strongly but he cannot pick a fucking move. Ben Arfa's legs are gone, Shelvey never had any to begin with and we start the season with United, Arsenal, City and Chelsea. Fuck that.

Finishing 11th last season wasn't good enough for Mr. Chairman. On the one hand, the restraints I've got are very Newcastle but I really miss the days of just letting you get on and build a team for years on end.

EDIT: Chinese Superleague is coming as part of Data Pack 2.00 so that's another license Konami have grabbed.

We just finished our first season, where we came a whopping 15th in the league! We would have done even worse if it wasn’t for on-loan Dominic Solanke contributing 19 goals.

Given that my main problem was creating chances, we do pretty well with the three up top. Usually Rondon being supported by Kenedy and Ritchie. We concede a token goal but I've scored twice in each match so far. We should've beaten Liverpool but I conceded a needless corner late on. The two DM's should give our back four cover but the ground they cover does lead them to be knackered a bit.

We play this formation, only the 3 up front and RWF LWF CF. Until recently it was Firmino Sessegnon Huntelaar but Firmino's loans just ended so I think Deulofeu is going to be on the right.

Darren Fletcher is frickin' amazing. Best tackler in the game somehow. Gareth Barry is wicked slow and we've only just signed Lucas so hopefully he can oust Gaz Baz permanently.

January in the first season in the big league (third season overall) and we're sitting pretty in 4th. Rooney has been a revelation; unsurprisingly a much better option at AM than Charlie Adam was before him.
