It's just like in the NFL. My team has lost a home game on so many occasions because ooo0o0o0oooo gotta go to Wembley obviously!

Such a joke.

I hope they kill the sport the short sighted twats.

I imagine the Liga are trying ever more desperate measures to match the PL commercially, which will fail as the PL's success has literally one reason - we speak English here.

Speaking Spanish must have a reasonable worldwide appeal too.

Only in Latin America. Asia/Africa/North America are easy PL wins.

People always mocked the BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD stuff (do they still say that?), but I've always thought that Premiership football is clearly more attractive to the vast majority of overseas football fans who aren't absolute nerds. You don't want to be watching slow passing wank in your mud hut/rice paddy.

Their names are also too similar. 'Lee Cattermole' is a much better brand than 'Juanmi', 'Fran Rico' etc.

Most of it is down to the English being better capitalists than the Spanish and Italians, some of it is down to the language thing, none of it is down to what you guys just mentioned in those two posts.

And we don't have stupid twats with megaphones in the stands. The 'yyyyyyeaaah!' of a goal going in, and 'oooooh' of a miss, here are more linguistically cathartic than the 'goooooooool' and 'eeeeeee' equivalents in Spain.

Yeah, Asians get enough of organised adulation/chanting in their daily lives without watching it in the stands.

I don't get it. La Liga's not the brand. It's two clubs.

Such a stinking concept. I hope the fans who pay for season tickets don't get too shafted by this, but they probably will.

Oh, also - Eleven Sports (online only) have got the La Liga and Serie A rights here, which had passed me by until today. They're showing some games on Facebook for free.

Zenit/Dinamo Minsk probably the most obvious fix I've seen for a while.

The crux of it for me is the pace and understanding how to keep it competitive.
