I know there's Ant & Dec and loads of shit pre '90 stuff but anyone voting outside of these is likely a wrongun, and I couldn't be arsed looking them up.

Ally's Tartan Army.
The real answer is (original) Three Lions: more timeless lyrics than '98, some underrated melodies in there and so much emotion, expressed in the understated English way rather than as wailing shite.
Vindaloo is stupid, and World In Motion is a dirge.

Three Lions by far.

I've had they've seeeeeen it all before and also I know that was then, but it could be again stuck in my head for about four weeks. World in Motion is great, and Vindaloo is good fun, but neither are remotely as culturally important as Three Lions.

98 has the more timeless chorus I guess, but the original is still better. 98 loses points for referencing Paul Ince.

Everyone seemed to hate the whites
They simply weren't alright
Ian Smith caused a fright
Then Bob Mugabe brought us to arms
Commandeered all the farms
Put Ndebele to harm
And now I'm singing
Three lions ate my goat
The 98 version might have the more timeless chorus, but the verses have aged badly.
98 for me.
AND PSYCHO SCREAMING
98 for me.
AND PSYCHO SCREAMING
Original is better but the Psycho line is ace.
Original chorus would be spot on if it wasn't for the 'thirty.'

World In Motion for me because you don't forget your first, plus I still have hope they'll release the version where Peter Beardsley tried the rap.
Three Lions 98 starting with the commentary line about the nation being behind Southgate is a bit jammy.

World in Motion. I think it's a better song and Three Lions is kinda bittersweet and defeatist.
