Sunday 15th July 16:00, where will you be watching the World Cup final?

My wife’s all but told me to go the pub to watch it should england get there because “it might not happen again” but so far my mates don’t really seem keen.

I'm obligated to watch it in a field with a big screen with the family seeing as they've put it on at such an antisocial hour.

Field of a hotel/pub, mind.

Think there's a pool there too which may or may not be disastrous.

At home in the living room, with my dad. I don't mind watching some games in public, but for the big ones I like to watch it on my own TV without tossers screaming their heads off, and with my old man and/or TTH for company. Allows me to get more immersed. Thinking back, 1998 I watched in a French bar (which at age 10 was pretty fun), 2002 I think I was playing cricket at the silly kick off time of 12, and the others at home although I have almost no memory of the 2014 final.

The Sunday cricket match I was meant to be umpiring I have managed to postpone, but only with a massive amount of effort, as the other team are run by someone who declares himself to be 'not a football fan'. I mean, honestly.

I won't be regardless of the result tomorrow.

I really hope I can just watch it in peace at home, rather than having to be in a pub full of shitfaced LADS.

Home. I've not real reason to go out and witness it with a crowd of strangers.

Definitely pub. It's a huge occasion, I don't want to watch it in silence at home.

Edit- If we're in it, of course.

Don't know, I'll see how we get on tomorrow before deciding.

Yes, well, obviously. I doubt the Croydon fan park is going to be sold out if it's France v Croatia, which, thinking about it, will be the worst world cup final ever if it comes to pass.

Probably just at home. If I was back in England I would probably watch it with my dad.

With my dad and possibly other family if we're in it. Either with my dad or at home supporting Croatia if we're not.

Depends if England are there. At home if not, down the pub if so.

Although I’ve got to travel to Ipswich at 6am Monday morning to train some Farmers for 2 days :face:

God help you.

Let this be a warning to all: don’t let apathy allow you to agree to things whilst you’re shutting down your computer at 16:25 on a Friday.

Actually back in England this weekend visiting family, so in the pub with an English crowd for the first time this tournament.

It's been strange watching the games out and about in Swansea, not as much animosity as I'd first anticipated, although you do still get the odd moron looking to get a rise out of you.

My old officemate from Oxford is going to be in Melbourne for the week. We used to go to West Ham matches together when we were PhD students.

BUT I have a seminar to give in Sydney at 1pm. So I'm heading to Melbourne for the weekend, culminating in watching the final at 1am. Then I head to the airport for a 7:30am flight to Sydney, and get into work by 10. No problems.

I've agreed to go camping near the Lake District at the weekend, so a few of us will try and find a pub somewhere. Think it sounds like a memorable way to watch a world cup final.

I'll be at home. Would've liked to have watched it with friends, but it's not going to happen.

Tough one to decide, really. Group games were watched at a pub with a BIG SCREEN, and I enjoyed the atmosphere and didn't particularly mind the LADZ and BANTZ, but the view got progressively worse for each game, ended up stuck behind tall people and having to stand on tiptoes to see anything. They had smaller screens either side of the big screen which were about 3 seconds behind the big screen which really did my head in as well.

All knockout games have been watched at my mate's house who has a huge tv and it's been good fun, usually about 10 of us there, but if we win tonight I think I'd rather go somewhere that was more of an event. No fan parks in Rugby or Cov tho so we'll see.

I don't think you could pay me to watch it at a pub.

Watching em at pubs is definitely the best option, i’m lucky though that i’m fairly tall and can generally peep over people

We have a club match on Saturday so everyone is converging on Orlando and then figuring out where we're going to go Sunday I guess.

Match is at 11am (if i recall) here so gonna be interesting considering we have a night match the night before. Everyone's going to be hungover as fuck I'd imagine.

They're doing some sort of "block party" bollocks downtown where they're gonna have a big ass screen set up in the middle of the street but like fuck am I standing out in the summer Florida heat at midday like a dipshit.

Going to find a pub to watch it or a mates house. Still anticipating the fuck up today.

In the pub, or maybe a big outdoor thing - sure there'll be one somewhere around here

After yesterday telling me to go out and enjoy the once in a lifetime occasion she’s now told me the in-laws have invited themselves round on Sunday. If England win tonight I will not be in. Where we going Mike?

Come on England, do it for me!
