Presumably becomes champions get a trophy and then playoff winners do too. So as a player, otherwise you'd rather get promoted via the playoffs as then you get a medal for your efforts.

Watching random videos the other day and I came across one of all 100+ giroud goals for arsenal. I watched it half way through, then played it from the beginning again and started counting. He scored about 70 one-touch goals in and around the six yard box. Tap-ins, headers, etc. It knew he was good at that style, but watching the goals back-to-back was interesting.
