I know no-one cares about the Europa League but Reg kicking the next thread off before Arsenal have is a bit :(

I didn't forget about that, it's just I won't have much time tomorrow.

The FA Cup

Could yet salvage our season but more likely to get bodybagged by Iheanacho.

Really looking forward to Sunday.

Still awaiting revenge for ‘97 and Erland Johnsen’s dive.

Jimmy Floyd

When Swansea and Brighton nick 1-0 wins it will be properly GAME ON.

Lewis
15-03-2018, 08:41 PM
I think this is the difference between a pretty crap and an alright season for United now, and it would also give Mourinho the chance to shithouse the Charity Shield up next season, so hopefully it works out.

Pleb
15-03-2018, 10:55 PM
Brighton dumping us out would be fucking incredible.

Kikó
15-03-2018, 11:05 PM

Baz

Hopefully Brighton, Swansea, Wigan and Leicester in the semis.

Shindig

Prem:
Bournemouth v West Brom
Huddersfield v Crystal Palace
Stoke v Everton
Liverpool v Watford 17:30 BT

So Bournemouth will pull further ahead of us but hopefully Huddersfield and Palace share the spoils ahead of our next match. Everton look capable enough to grind out narrow wins until the fans get sick of it.

Here’s the second part of Mourinho’s press conference which was embargoed for some reason.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43431205

That looks like a full blow meltdown.

Ian
17-03-2018, 12:43 PM
It's been one long meltdown since, what, the back end of the second Chelsea stint?

Yevrah
17-03-2018, 12:56 PM
Jesus, he really has absolutely lost it.

There's a reasonable argument for just sacking him now.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 02:28 PM
'LvG' deserves another go with better players.

Magic
17-03-2018, 02:43 PM
It's a shame obviously hearing a meltdown with a second language, there's almost a get out. I wish he was from Doncaster or something.

Jimmy Floyd
17-03-2018, 02:45 PM
It's more his tone than what he says, he sounds genuinely quite deranged. Probably time to move out of the Travel Tavern and rent a flat.

José's rants makes me lol because it's exactly the same mode my dad goes into whenever he's angry at something (about thrice daily). It's just southeuropean.avi and happens at most press conferences in their native leagues.

Elber. Jesus.

Christ that's a pure fascist rant right there.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 03:00 PM
Wayne Bennett tells journalists that they're shit every week and nobody even responds, because he has maintained a consistent level of contempt for them for thirty years and acts accordingly. Football managers love the media stuff too much when the going is good (Mourinho especially), so when they try to give it back they look RATTLED. Somebody should trial the Bennett approach. Preferably somebody solid, so that Adidas don't set their car on fire.

Jimmy Floyd
17-03-2018, 03:05 PM
Ferguson was supposed to be a master of the media game, but even he had regular rants and meltdowns. Part of it is just your voice/demeanour, i.e. when Rafa Benitez goes off on one he looks like an IT manager who hasn't been given his bonus, whereas when Barry Fry does it it's just another day at the office for Britain's favourite used car salesman.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 03:12 PM
The RANTS and the MELTDOWNS definitely decreased during his Elder Statesman years, but that was largely down to people not daring to ask him difficult questions.

Jimmy Floyd
17-03-2018, 03:23 PM
Me and a Cov fan I know agreed a few years ago that for a decent sized club, you can't get any lower than about two thirds of the way down League One, because the clubs down there start becoming really small family-run affairs who don't make any revenue.

We've obviously since updated that to 'top half of League Two'.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 03:30 PM
Then you start to become the subject of those hand-wringing 'Crapford need Ł40000 to avoid being liquidated whilst the Premier League...' feel-bad state of the board stories. What does it say about us?! Well for a start we've got too many clubs.

Jimmy Floyd
17-03-2018, 03:36 PM
We haven't got too many clubs, they just all (and I mean all, from 1st in the Premier League to bottom of the Renton Wood Varnish League Division Five) have the most pathetic short-termist attitudes to money imaginable.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 03:39 PM

Okay, Huddersfield's visit will be crunch time. I still think Southampton have the squad to survive but I can't tell you what a caretaker honeymoon is going to be like. Unless they land a new man in the next couple of weeks.

Do they still vote for Player of the Year pointlessly early? If not he should win it, but 'KdB' was better during (what used to be?) the NARRATIVE-setting period, so I don't know.

Sir Andy Mahowry
17-03-2018, 08:15 PM
That would have been so good had Mata buried that.

Nice play between him and Martial.

Kikó
17-03-2018, 08:44 PM
The team is so inherently broken it's painful. You've got players at the top pressing (not Lukaku though as he's too immobile) and then a big gap to the defensive 6. Bad shit.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 09:20 PM
Was Shaw injured or just starving?

Kikó
17-03-2018, 09:22 PM
He was causing us to play badly. Look at how much we've improved since he's gone off.

Lewis
17-03-2018, 09:26 PM
I was reading some thing about Trump and the FBI for most of the first half in protest against the lack of a proper orange snow ball.

Sir Andy Mahowry

Matic running the show, who needs Pogba?

Shame about tonight but we were really good second half. Really impressed with Locadia.

Article i was reading, they refered to him as an ex man utd ace.

Jimmy Floyd
18-03-2018, 09:42 AM
In the tabloid front pages, 'ace' means 'has kicked a ball at some point'.

18-03-2018, 09:59 AM
Nile Ranger will forever lead with, 'Former Newcastle striker'.

Kikó

I didn't think it could be as depressing as it is at Sunderland but wow, they've proven the doubters wrong.

Ian
18-03-2018, 11:04 AM
In the tabloid front pages, 'ace' means 'has kicked a ball at some point'.

Is there some unspoken hierarchy for these things? I mean, the papers up here love ace as well as "star", and then you go into the story and you realise they're talking about some Hibs full back. Come on, lads.

Giggles
18-03-2018, 01:17 PM

Lewis

Wiggin are muffing their chances at a rate that points to a 'professional' Southampton 1-0.

Kikó
18-03-2018, 02:06 PM
I actually thing Leslie is a still a decent manager. He fucked up towards the end at Stoke but he's been reasonable at most clubs.

Giggles
18-03-2018, 02:07 PM
Monumental amounts of faff there from Wigan.

Shindig
18-03-2018, 02:17 PM

Leicester should be chucked out of the competition for this grass pattern.

Jimmy Floyd
18-03-2018, 04:47 PM
It's a nice revelation that you have to cut the grass straight in the Premier League. Probably the most Premier League thing I've ever heard.

They really should just standardise the grass pattern.

The greenness of the pitches is one of the reasons the Premier League is the most popular league. People would rather watch football on an immaculate, alive looking lawn than the grey of Leganes - Valencia.

Morata has properly had the Operation now. You can almost see the stiches around his heart and testicular areas.

Who needs the NHS.

Ever since I said this he's been class, less so in scoring than in taking it to neanderthal shithead thugs Morgan and Maguire who have clearly been sent out there to kick him.

Kanté best player on the park by a mile as per. I can stomach losing beanpole keepers and fancy Belgian patissiers, Kanté is the one we have to keep.

Chelsea are more likely to bin it against Southampton, who won't necessarily shit themselves as Tottenham would or field some twat XI to prove a point as Mourinho might. Another United vs Southampton cup-thieving classic on the cards.
