Quite want Cardiff to win their game and set up the Warnock v Guardiola clash of the titans that football has been waiting for.

I'm assuming this VAR thing is being used this round?

Don't think it can be as only PL teams are set-up for it and you can't not use it in the last game and then use it in this one.

The VAR being used correctly to allow a goal.

Oh my word this could revolutionise football. Desperately needed in the Championship and even more so in the SPL. Hard to see how it could be afforded at lower levels?

Jimmy Floyd
16-01-2018, 10:42 PM
Very much doubt it will ever be introduced below Premier League level, for cost reasons, which is ironic as that's the only level where Trevor Kettle isn't free to extend his reign of terror.

Magic
16-01-2018, 10:44 PM
Don't really see why cost would be an issue, it can't be that much for a guy to sit and watch on a TV. All Championship teams broadcast their own games abroad so they have the capability.

Jimmy Floyd
16-01-2018, 10:48 PM
You'll know better than I what it costs to pay mugs to install rudimentary communications equipment in shit tips across the UK, but you also have to pay for the infrastructure, wages of the extra 12 highly qualified refs that therefore aren't being deployed reffing a game, and no doubt 5 other things I haven't thought of.

Also bear in mind most Championship games only have a few cameras at them currently.

Magic
16-01-2018, 10:51 PM
Get rid of the fourth official. To be fair you don't need to be a top, top ref to watch a replay back. Ultimately if there's any doubt the referee actually watches it and gives it based on the video itself.

As I said all Championship clubs televise their home games abroad.

Jimmy Floyd
16-01-2018, 10:57 PM
Yeah but what does televise mean, a grainy three-camera feed on Bet365 with none of the reverse angles that you need to have a decent VAR?

Magic
16-01-2018, 11:06 PM
Certainly at home it's actually decent. Away I think you have to bring your own camera unless you're watching via the 'away' club because at Ipswich the corrugated roof was filmed more than the game. On reflection, that was maybe a good thing.

Pleb

You forget. Non-League Football doesn't exist according to Martin Tyler.

Jimmy Floyd
16-01-2018, 11:56 PM
Unlikely, seeing as Martin Tyler has been a non-league coach for decades.

Lewis
17-01-2018, 12:09 AM
The lower leagues could have it all centralised, like the NRL BUNKER, which was brought in to aid consistency and somehow just gets even more stuff wrong.

niko_cee
17-01-2018, 07:40 AM
They'd have to find somewhere suitably mundane to headquarter the bunker.

Chippenham's going to want to take a look at that.

Di Maria got the final touch on a Neymar chip that was going wide earlier, after which Neymar didn't celebrate and had a go at him for nicking his goal. He's such a hateful little shithouse.

Expect Di Maria will be sold in the next week.

I've missed most of tonight and only just turned the game on, but I would have thought you'd have some done well with Willian and Pedro and the lineup looking more positive. The 3-5-1-1 or whatever he usually plays now is so negative considering your players are much better than the bulk of the league's. Spurs did a similar thing, went through a dodgy period and now they're back to playing positively and doing much better.

I can't believe Willian and Pedro are barely getting a game really. They're two brilliant players.

What happens if the video replay thing overturns it and gives the penalty (how the fuck did it not do that anyway?) then does he have to let Morata back on?

Or does the var have to bottle it so as the situation doesn't crop up?

Why have they gone back to the old penalty order? Every element of officiating in this match has been a farce.

Only if he consistently bossed it in those matches. It’s all well and good sticking 4 past a load of Vineyard workers, but nobody gives a fuck.

CJay
18-01-2018, 08:52 AM
Morata and Willian’s were both penalties in my opinion. It’s strange how the defender can blatantly hold someone back as they go past them (Zimmerman) yet when the attacker goes down the defender loses it and screams in his face.

Be interesting to see where that ref gets posted next.

Jimmy Floyd
18-01-2018, 08:59 AM
It's ridiculous, apparently people's innards could be strewn all over the penalty area but it wouldn't be a spot kick if they 'went down easily' or 'fell into the contact'.

Didn't help that yesterday everyone other than Chelsea fans would have been rooting for Norwich I suppose, apparently including the referee and VAR.

I have such mixed (bad) feelings about this. On the one hand I can admire the PSG crowd for sticking up for Cavani against Neymar, since Neymar is such a cunt. But then again, it takes a right special lot to start booing your biggest star for taking a penalty when you're up 7-0 and he's scored 3 already, so for that they are massive cunts.

And the whole thing is made worse somehow by the fact that Cavani looks like the saint in all this, when I just know he's a bit of a fucking cunt as well. He just is you know.

It seems like literally everyone involved with PSG is a bit of a cunt (except possibly Mbappe), so situations like this are inevitable.
