Clement's boys to get a result as well.

I think we'll break the age old record of United's 9-0 win over Ipswich tonight, and break it easily. Fifteen nil to Chelsea.

No Barry, Chadli, Matt Phillips or James Morrison.

Chelsea tonight and Arsenal tomorrow, both BT.

I love watching Hazard, such a fun player.

The Club World Cup gets so little coverage doesn't it? Nobody has bought the TV rights here, as far as I can tell. Real Madrid are playing a side from Dubai tomorrow. They've got a break from the league and then come back to play Barcelona a couple days before Christmas. I can see that going badly.

If they want it taken in any way seriously it should be in the (European) off-season.

No one is going to give a flying fuck when football that actually 'matters' (purely in comparative terms) is on.

It should be a July 12-team affair in odd years. Last couple of winners from each continent and a few bonus teams.

11-2-4 is an OK record for us, keep that coming and we'll end on 78, that was only 3 points behind Leicester a couple of years back. With this Russian bint in charge we'll probably end up selling Hazard in January though.

Jose Mourinho reached new levels of paranoia on Tuesday when he accused a BBC reporter who had the temerity to ask a question of being sent by another club.

The Manchester United manager was baffled at the suggestion that either him or his club should face charges for the tunnel fracas that marked the end of Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.

“Punish who?” Mourinho asked. “Why? I think you work for another club…and not for the press.”

Mourinho then flounced out of the press conference, incensed that he had been forced to answer questions about the brawl rather than Wednesday’s opponents Bournemouth.
He stopped at the door and said: “You don’t like Bournemouth, hey? You don’t respect them? You don’t think they are a team capable of coming to Old Trafford and doing well? No respect for Eddie Howe? No respect for the players?”

lol

Jimmy Floyd
13-12-2017, 11:47 AM
To be fair to him, I can't think of anything more pointless or boring than the continued obsession with the 'tunnel fracas' in question.

John Arne
13-12-2017, 02:02 PM
Agreed. It’s the press conference specifically for the Bournemouth game, and journo’s just keep asking the same questions that they know he won’t, or cannot, truthfully answer.

Related, the amount of press conferences EPL managers have to do is crazy. Especially given that hardly anything interesting is actually ever said.

Jimmy Floyd
13-12-2017, 02:51 PM
Conte's are so bad they're good. 'We must try to play good football. It is important to win.'

Lewis
13-12-2017, 02:58 PM
Looking back it's pretty ace how Alex Ferguson got away with doing it all on his terms. Even when they changed the rules specifically to force him to speak to the BBC he just got the club to pay his fines.

Jimmy Floyd
13-12-2017, 03:12 PM
I think the all time worst press conferences were those ones when Ian 'Olly' Holloway used to just get people to ask him about the issue of the day, even though it had nothing to do with his team.

'Oi'm glad you asked me about that...'

Reg
13-12-2017, 03:23 PM
Ian Holloway actually genuinely enjoys football and is there in any job pretty much as a fan, which seems to help him resist getting dragged down into the melodrama and deranged bias.

His best stuff has always come as part of a three, where you can just shithouse around a small area of the pitch without having to contribute much else, but playing in a two is a bit beyond his otherwise limited skill set. He would be much better off in a PRESSING team really.

Jimmy Floyd

What will be interesting (in the relative sense of the word) is what will happen once the sheer futility of United's league plight becomes apparent, will Mourinho bin it and focus on the CL. He'll probably be desperate to win the FA Cup as well.

Lewis
14-12-2017, 11:40 AM
I think you'll find that United and Jose are a TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT.

It's hard not to get a little bit Arsenal/Liverpool when you read all the stuff about United. The fans seem pretty content with everything (other than calling certain players shit), but the media would have you believe it is coming apart at the seams. The geezer took on a worse side than 'Pep', has spent less money, and has had less of it available for most of the season. Just calm down.

Jimmy Floyd

It needs to happen really. It's not like other seasons where decent players have stropped and underperformed, it's just one of the worst squads in the league losing to better sides each week. Lord knows who is available in January, but at least it's a World Cup year, so there might be some semi decent, semi motivated players wanting a move.

Lewis
