Marouane Fellaini suing New Balance for Ł2m over ‘defective’ boots

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/nov/24/marouane-fellaini-suing-new-balance-boots-manchester-united

I mean, if you don't like the boots, change boot supplier... I don't see the point in repeatedly wearing them and then suing them :/

phonics
24-11-2017, 11:21 AM
He'l be paid to wear them.

John Arne
24-11-2017, 11:28 AM
He'l be paid to wear them.

Yeah, I get that. But when your a pro, and it's effecting how you play - surely you get your agent to find a way to end the contract, rather than going back and forward over 6 months or so. Maybe he just really loved the NB logo.

phonics
24-11-2017, 11:45 AM
And maybe he couldn't find a way out of the contract without getting sued himself?

John Arne
24-11-2017, 11:51 AM
If he couldn't get out of a contract despite NB providing such shoody gear - perhaps he needs a new lawyer.

niko_cee
24-11-2017, 01:01 PM
I'd always assumed the boots were just branded to the appropriate sponsor (although I guess that is harder in the day of modern boot colours) rather than it being a particular boot available to the public, in the same way as cricket bat sponsors have nothing to do with making the bats, even if they are bat makers, by and large. That probably doesn't make a whole heap of sense.

Conte the latest foreign manager chump to moan about scheduling I see. This isn't the third world mate, we don't move games around to make life easier for our corrupt friends at the big clubs.

Dyche for all the jobs.

I'd love to see that AIDS ridden cunt Moyes take Wet Sham down.

Lewis
24-11-2017, 08:36 PM
The Dildo Brothers would get desperate and sack him before he took them down, but he should probably just give up (or the next best thing - take a job with a nobody Scotch team) if this explodes in his face.

niko_cee

He could take up the Bodgers mantle (and fuck it up) when someone thinks he's worth taking a punt on again (probably not Barcelona).

And Malaga have a perfectly good goal disallowed for a "push", the Real players barely even appealed for it.

He could do with an intermediate step up (probably someone like Everton actually) before rolling up at Chelsea and falling foul of the arseholes and having his career set back a decade.

I once won a massive lay of 1.01 (on rain affected cricket), it's truly the greatest feeling and the opposite is presumably the worst.

It's Dortmund's price to win over time on Betfair. Ł77000 was bet at odds of 1/100 (to win Ł770) when they were leading. People have taken those bets on, and as Jimmy says, are probably feeling alright this evening.

How are the Gary Neville failure XI + Zaza (of all people) doing so well in Spain this year?

Valverde has definite binman qualities. Could definitely see Barcelona going to bits at some point in the season.

Their team has changed quite a bit to be fair. I've seen them a couple times and they look really disciplined, and attack with real speed.

I liked Rodrigo's celebration. It was apparently a tribute, which explains a ballboy/staff member carrying around a giant orange wig ready in case.

This is probably the biggest club he's going to get now and he could get them into Europa. He might actually be good enough to find the dying embers of Wayne Rooney's talent.

Rooney, by the way, was reportedly building a bar in his house to stop him going out and getting rat arsed. What a pro.

Lewis

I've never understood why some people have bars in their houses. It's the least comfortable bit of any pub, and he can sit wherever he wants in his house.

28-11-2017, 12:07 PM
Brighton's televised game quota has to be met at some point.

They showed the Palace game and they're showing Bournemouth at home, presumably billing both as "derbies" while fans of none of the sides view them as such.

Reg
28-11-2017, 12:46 PM
Do you mean they showed the Southampton game? We've been on four times already which seems quite a lot, but it is a little strange to not show the Palace game considering they chose the others.

Jimmy Floyd

They literally won't know that Brighton-Palace is a derby. Probably got some public school nonce in charge who would rather be watching Harlequins.

Brighton vs Palace sounds like the most pointless rivalry in the world, and one that only exists because nobody cares about either club. It's like when nobody sides in the Greater Manchester area get all worked up about United, except in this case it is actually reciprocated.

Jimmy Floyd

The Graham Greene derby. It's no more pointless than something like Leeds/Man Utd.

Lewis

That is more than likely completely one-sided for anyone under fifty as well.

Jimmy Floyd
28-11-2017, 03:25 PM
My old man still considers Chelsea's main rivals to be Leeds (and by extension, any other northern team, who are just henchmen of Norman Hunter and his 70s Dirty Leeds pals). It's a great way of looking at football.

Last night QPR v Brentford was on, I commented on what a shit game it was and he said 'At least they're not showing northern football as usual'.
