Ashley Young is too good for Solanke.
No wonder Chelsea got rid of him.

Young contributing more in ten minutes than Bertrand did in 80? He's a much better crosser than any of the other wing backs.

It's not signed yet but it's 'on the table' for him.
There's very little chance that we ever do any better than this level but there comes a time when you just can't watch that shite any more. He's a dinosaur and some of the stories about his methods lately really make it time for him to go.

Meanwhile, I don't understand why we wouldn't sack Southgate now and bring in a specialist tournament manager while they work out which FA stooge takes over in September. Is Otto Rehhagel in a care home yet? Maybe we can buy Hervé Renard out of his Morocco contract.
Failing that we could go in-house and promote the U17 manager.

People are never happy with the Ireland management these days. It's getting like the English press.
You'd think Wes Holohan was Maradona the way analysts go on. We have a shit crop of players so have to set up appropriately.

I don't know if we've ever been as dull as we are now.
I'd sooner watch the 'golden generation' and the Euro 96 side come out of retirement to form a hybrid for the lols rather than the shower we'll actually send.

The style of football is prehistoric. If it was long ball then I wouldn't care, we've seen that it works but this is nothing but clear the ball and hope. And when you couple that with former players saying he does zero tactical or opposition preparation work then it's a joke he's in the job. He says we haven't the players (we don't, but they're still able to get on a ball and pass to a team mate for their clubs), which is all the more reason to prepare them if they're that bad. The changes in formation at half time last night show just how clueless he is tactically.

There are levels between what they're doing now and Barcelona and you don't need to be a world greater to have a tiny bit of composure. That's the biggest thing the mongs can't comprehend, that if anyone says the setup is horrendous then you're automatically looking for it to be total football. Black or white.
Do you see the likes of Harry Arter constantly hooking the ball clear over his head in acres of space when he's in red and black? The current style is something a league two side would be embarrassed to trot out.

No. They were alright for a stage about 3/4 years ago, but they have regressed a lot recently, imo. Iran are far and away the best Asian team.

It's a shame that there isn't ONE decent centre-back in the entirety of the Asian teams. Japan and South Korea have some great players in midfield, but then you have the likes of Maya Yoshida leading the defence for Japan, and two unknown's for South Korea.
