Is that the one you need to operate with your phone? Not sure I like that.

Or through Google Chrome browser. Football streams are much better this way.

I just downloaded SuperRepo and then Pheonix and found all the British sports channels, but the picture was crap.

Go to Staael then to Live TV (way down at the bottom) then live games. It should give you streams from premier league pass which are really good quality.

I've got a DroidBox to play this on but cannot for the life of me work any of it out. I tried to install The Beast add on to make Kodi less of an eyesore, but it just isn't working.

I've downloaded it using the Kodi link here (http://thebeast.spartanpixel.net), I've downloaded it on my laptop using the uTorrent link and transferred over on a USB, and I've also tried the method shown in the video here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1fCMqQ_5Oc).

None of them have worked and I'm close to launching everything out the window in a petty rage. The video step-by-step thing failed at the "Programs" as the folder was empty after attempting to unzip the setup wizard. The others just told me it was an invalid file. Fuck it all to hell.

Did you try the link I posted above for Ares Wizard?

Phoenix and Genesis are the best two but Genesis is being stopped by the developers so will gradually start to slip away. That's why the beast is good, so many more options that are constantly updated for you.

I've got it working through Ares Wizard, albeit what I think is a slightly older version of The Beast. Cheers [mention]Adamski[/mention.

Looks okay so far. There's quite a lot of streams that don't seem to work. I tried various films and TV shows but got "no stream available" when I tried to open them. I have finally got Inside Out on and the quality is comparable to Netflix, so at least that's not an issue.

No worries. If it's an older one it'll be heavily reliant on Genesis (it'll show you the name of the add on being used in the top left whilst you are browsing) which as I said has been discontinued. I'd imagine a new update will be out soon which will update them.

I haven't tried any other builds but the black box and Schism seem to be pretty popular.

Dunno, I never really used that. Torrents are still going strong though. Everybody who's been on the internet for more than five minutes knows about The Pirate Bay, and there have been various attempts to bring charges against them, but you'd still find it within a couple of Google searches if you really want to.

With this it doesn't seem like you could say much against Kodi themselves, so it'd be individual addons that were blocked - there already appear to be so many options that people will just jump ship and move to another.

Adamski
07-01-2016, 12:58 PM
It'll be really tough to shut it down. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the whole Android OS relies on being able to side-load apps for developer testing prior to being submitted to the Play Store. That's how you get Kodi and all these other apps onto the devices so unless Android decide to completely alter their testing process and move it more in line with Apples then I can't see how it could be shut down.

Yeah The Beast is either dead or death is imminent, so I'm after a new setup.

My uncle told me about something called Husham but I've not looked into it properly yet.

How does it get away with being legal when it's just a vehicle for illegal streams?

Because you have to add the functionality of illegal streaming to it. Without that it's only able to stream stuff between your devices like xbmc did or like Plex (I think) and that does.

From memory the menu is things like Genre, People Watching, Top Rated, Returning TV Shows, Box Office, Highest Grossing. Search should be further down.

Far better. I was finding torrents hard to come by anyway. But even if they were readily available where I used to get them, this is so much more streamlined. Nothing I watched last night missed a single beat and the quality was class (the HD ones are all is needes for the TV I have).

Still smooth as on my TV too.

You can get builds which do it for you. There's a sportsmania build which changes the menu options you see into bespoke ones. I haven't used it but if you google sportsmania Kodi builds it should throw up some images and instructions.

Similarly, in the Kodi settings you can go in and edit the menu options on your own to put Sportsmania as an option on the homepage (and channels can also be added as sub menus of this but I've never gotten that far)

Some of the builds are decent. They're basically a skin which collates multiple add ons and channels within add ons into a nice easy to use interface.

Thinking about it, I'm fairly sure there's a favourite channels section on Sportsmania that you can possibly save to. You can on the app, I'll check when I'm at home.

The predecessor to Exodus (Genesis, funnily enough) let you store favourite programs and films into a menu option but I don't think exodus does.

Exodus' 'My TV Shows' section seems to look for an IMDB link.
I can see where to add a channel to favourites on Sportsmania on Kodi, I just can't see where to access a favourites section.

I was a fool, it is a gigabit port. Got it all sussed now. WDTV streams from my USB hard drive plugged in to the NAS. At some point I'll transfer it to the NAS disk but at the moment it's more convenient on the usb one. I can transfer from my lappy now (Windows 10 was blocking LAN file sharing even though the FW was disabled). Getting about 30mbps which is as good as it can get really.

I can also stream to my Chromecast using Localcast on my phone with an smb share. This is dece (but still lol @ web streaming).

Well before it was USB HDD plugged directly in to WDTV box. I'd have to remove it and connect it to my laptop to transfer downloaded media on to, then plug it back in.

Also upstairs I had to bring the hard drive, plug my laptop in to the TV via HDMI then use the USB drive to play the files.

At least now I can transfer without plugging anything in, and the big one is the Chromecast upstairs instead of my laptop and HDMI cables. Before I was just using it for iPlayer and youTube. This is big.

For those who can't be fucked with Kodi/downloading/streaming sites full of fake films and ads:

Type index of /movies/2017 into Google and pick site. Replace year for older films. Replace movies with tvshows or music if you want them instead. DL2 is a good link. Index of /film/ is another good one.

If on PC, right click on film you want, copy link address, open vlc, file > open network stream and paste link, open, wait 10-30 seconds, ta da.

Also it works on phone streaming too, but instead of copying link, just click on it. Dunno about tablets as not tried.

Yep, in time they'll all go to shit. It's the same with file sharing hosts. 10 years ago everyone used Rapidshare. Then there was MegaUpload. Then Fileshare, hotfile, and so on and so on. That's why it's always best to stick to 6 months or under for a subscription length, even if it doesn't work out as good value.

Football teams are now doing there own subscriptions to watch games for users OUTSIDE of the host country. Its a good idea if you ask me. You can work around that with a simple free VPN. That is probably the future once they can work out a deal.

I'd pay quite a bit to get a proper, legal stream for every United game.

I think we all would. Aston villa are doing it for the season. The villa fans down here are going bonkers for it.

Is there not one you can use with VPN? We've had one for years. £6 a game or £25 a month.

Video is only for international fans.

For legal streams to happen here they'd have to get rid of the "no 3pm games on TV" rule.

To be honest, I've Sky Sports which have the midday and 3pm live Saturday and two Sunday (plus GAA, NFL, and golf), RTE have some league of Ireland, the international qualifiers, the GAA, and Wednesday CL, TV3 have Tuesday CL, and C4 have half the F1. Plus I've Gamepass for the NFL that sky don't have, so I'm pretty much covered and even though it isn't cheap at least I know it all works.

All I'm missing is the college football, the league of Ireland on Eir (my TV supplier won't do BT/Eir), and the other half of the F1 but I can live without it.

You can use a browser with a built in VPN to short-cut around these issues. Easy work.

It's not even worth a tenth of what they're charging any more.

Confirmed: SportsMania is trash.

Everyone should use the free kodi add on called Sportie cos it gets all the streams from Reddit.

Ill take a look at that, thanks.

I have taken to using plexus and grabbing a steam ID from reddit when the game isnt available for me for free on NBC (since they started charging for some games). So should save a step hopefully.

Do you just get UK tv or do you get every single streamable football event?

Mike

Just UK TV. You can add IPTV which I think would include 3pm kick offs. If Liverpool are ever 3pm I just stream it.

Anyone else's Kodi broken? It's force closing on my tablet and TV (V17.5).

Is Covenant the way to go now that Exodus is dead or are there better options?

Baz

I use Covenant but it wasn’t working on Friday when I tried. Not sure if it’s a problem at my end though. I did update it but soon sacked it off and just watched something on Wrestling On Demand instead.
