Good to see Flani Alves back

Baz

Good to see Gomez in the middle, considering that's his position and his secondary is left-back, yet he's been rotating with Trent on the right.

Flani Alves.

On the off chance any of you are watching us make a dick of it against Thistle, keep an eye out for a little Asian chap waving a union flag from behind a fence in the corner. He's Abdul, the Pakistani EDL supporter, and he's an absolute headbanger.

A friend of mine got offered the opportunity to wear the costume and be the mascot at one of the matches.

Turned it down in one of the worst decisions of his life.

First start for Izquierdo, woo! Good test for two kids in centre midfield, too.

This is the game Sturridge should have played in (as opposed to the weekend). He'd probably already have a hatrick.

Also, Leicester to nick one through retarded defending before the break.

Andy Robertson makes me smile.

I had just typed "Robertson looks quite good" but that was rubbish.

Surprised at the lineups these teams have put out. Especially with Liverpool playing in Europe next week.

Pretty much as expected for Liverpool. Coutinho needs games, Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't started a game yet, the two regular midfielders were rested at the weekend. I think Wijnaldum could have sat this one and had one of those other two play in midfield to make some space for Woodburn to maybe get a start to give them some pace in attack. Game's also made for Sturridge, but maybe he wouldn't like that, and Klopp obviously likes the look of Solanke.

That's the chap. He spent a month walking around Govan with a little charity tin to pay that fine, and has been known to turn up at the Grapes bar wearing a tshirt with his own face on it.

He was trying to get a bit of aggro going with an Asian Thistle fan earlier called Manpreet. 'Pakora Toes' was the insult of choice.

I reckon he's genuinely unwell.

Born in Chester, Woodburn was raised in Tattenhall, Cheshire and played both cricket and football from a young age... Woodburn is eligible to represent Wales, through his maternal grandfather, as well as his native England.

He sounds like a retard.

John Arne

Whilst he is completely free to play for whoever he wants - it does seem strange to pick the country of you grandfather, given he was raised in England, all his mates are mostly English... he's English. Wonder whether he "feels" Welsh, or associates with being Welsh. Strange.

Giggles
20-09-2017, 06:26 AM
You could understand if it was years ago and they were hard come by but if he wasn't playing for Wales, he's highly enough rated that he'd probably have an English cap by the end of the year.

Shindig
20-09-2017, 07:03 AM
Do you want the possibility of caps at a nation that struggles to quarter finals? Or would you rather take guaranteed caps at a nation that had their best tournament showing for half a century?

Was at the Leeds game last night and didn't see until I got home but at the end of extra time, there was a police man that came on to the pitch and told the ref not to allow the penalties to be taken towards the Leeds fans. Our manager was obviously a bit confused and pissed at the situation but just let them get on with it. Never seen this happen before and wondered if it does happen a lot but we just don't see it on TV or at the grounds.

Jimmy Floyd

It's no different to my local area. I loathe the fuckers who consider themselves English because they happened to be born 10 minutes in the opposite direction yet spent their entire lives in Wales, raised in Wales, educated in Wales....you're Welsh.

I think if the language was more widespread in North Wales then it might be different. The year I left High School is the year they made it compulsory as far as I recall. You do just 'feel it'.

Lewis

You can't beat the Worthington Cup (lol at Wikipedia actually listing 'Mickey Mouse Cup' as an alternative name), but if you were looking to lose a few games from the calendar it would be the obvious target. That said, you can't really moan about tiredness if you play senior players in home bankers against teams managed by Nigel Clough.

Stuart Pearce on THE DEBATE reckons money messes young players up, not because they get lazy with it, but because they buy massive houses ('they think they have to') and isolate themselves in shitty environments.
