Featuring the biggest advances in the series for over a decade, PES 2018 is set to launch on 14th September on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. No part of the game has been left untouched.


So yeah, myself and Baz play PES rather than FIFA, and this year two things have is excited, the first is the new mode. 3vs3 online.
We have basically trained our whole video gaming lives for this, since we started football games myself, Baz and our old buddy The Reid play 3 player co-op master league, this year we can take our three player co-op skills online against chumps and BEAT THEM DOWN! We lost two games during the whole of the beta :cool2:

The second is Veron, having retired, can play for our Master League side again after a ten year spell not in the team.

About done with 2017. Started a Master League with Real on superstar. Won the first five and now grinding out draws against fucking Gijon. It feels fixed. Scored my first direct free-kick in the process.

Getting done quite a bit by the AI. Moreso than last year (if you can believe that). They really love balls out wide to the flank where I'm completely exposed. Either I've got to get my positioning right or every team I've played so far goes narrow at the back for some inconceivable reason. I am loving the improvisation your players will try to pull off, though. Keeps the ball alive more than previous years.

Well, that's the worst online experience I've ever had. There's some lag and scripting going on but, even if that's not present, you've got a bunch of pass-happy PSG players who completely break it apart. Fuck Konami and fuck PSG.

Just got to grab an Asian and a South American league and I'll be good to go for Master League. Bundesliga is in, as is the remaining European odds and ends. Top Player seems decent. Playing a League with Newcastle and we're doing alright in 5th. Wins against Spurs and Liverpool were nice and Joselu grabbed a hat trick against Swansea. Seems like I'm better at that than last year. Defending's okay now. Thinking more about positioning rather than trying to rush to win the ball back.

How do you install this? The instructions are presumptuous.

I think Baz's file is a PS4 one. There might be differences between the PC and PS4 option files.

Got it on, you've to put it in specific folders like FM. Works well too

Now if only I could play it. The gameplay hasn't changed at all since the PS2 and the few annoyances I could never get to grips with are still there.

What's holding you up? I've played so much of the series I probably gloss over a lot.

The massive delay when you're sprinting before a shot or pass registers. You nearly have to stop running before you can kick the ball.
Also, when you're dispossessed your player that loses the ball just stumbles and can't move for a few seconds so you can never fight back for the ball.

Though I suspect it's realistic and I'm just shit.

The confidence bollocks is still in effect, then. Started today with a 3-0 defeat to West Brom in the cup. All counters that I honestly had little defence against. Next game, Saivet puts through his own net with his first touch against Man Utd. Breaking the habit is hard and just the one win won't do it. Joselu's ruined. Hit the woodwork three games running then stopped bothering.

Just done the bit edit ready to start this years Master League save on Friday. Big shout out to Baz's child for giving him the time off work to do this years St. Helens kits. Though the third kit, that he hates and I made is the secret best.

Binned this already. I've played loads of matches and there's very little variety in open play in any of them. It's like you're playing the same teams vs each other all the time.

I ended up buying this the other day, started a Master League with Nottingham Forest on Regular (haven’t played PES since maybe the 2008 edition with Michael Owen on) and I’m in the Top 6 after about 12 games.

One thing I have noticed is that I haven’t had any injuries, and actually, the opposition haven’t been penalised for any fouls whatsoever yet. I’ve had a handful of free kicks and they’ve all been for offside, so I don’t know how to take attacking free kicks yet!

I did a few of the transfers manually, I like doing all that stuff, shamefully.

I can’t see myself getting into PES big time, but it’ll be a good time passer when I’ve got an hour or two here and there.

Knocked it down to Regular and smashed five games on the bounce. There's definitely some weird constants with the AI. They charge shots down and make goal-line clearances regardless of the difficulty.

Okay, I've decided to League it up on Superstar with Torino and we've had a reasonable start. Two wins, one defeat and an opening win against Bilbao in the Europa League. Nothing's convincing but we have the beanpoles to make one of these crosses count.

I’m into Season 9 in my Master League now - two with Nottingham Forest resulted in a promotion and a 13th place finish. I was playing on whatever four star for these seasons, then upped to Superstar for my next move.

I then moved to Southampton for four and built a mega team there, mainly focusing on Oxlade Chamberlain, Alli and Ryan Sessegnon. I won a league or two in four years, as well as two FA Cups.

I got to four years and left them for Inter Milan, who had just finished mid table and had a minging squad, but they did have a few players I wanted to use including Rashford and Saul Niguez. Their goalkeeper was rated 68!

I’ve now upgraded everyone to have a team of 82; 90, 86, 85, 85; 82, 85, 81; 87, 85, 84 which includes Rashford, Regen Müller and Regen Ronaldo, so I’m looking forward to starting Season 3 with them with a Champions League run to go with it.

Began again with the defaults. Beat Norwich comfortably on the opening day and bumped it up to Professional. Lost to Forest and drew with Cardiff. Living off freebies for a season at least. Managed to spend the wage budget on a decent Argentine striker and the two okay youth kids.
