They don’t change the face of the card but in game stats are boosted. If you look on futbin or futwiz you can apply them to a player and see what difference they make.

If you want something big that can (and should) pay big then I'd go for Sane's path to glory card.

230kish and he's nailed on for an IF soon the way he's playing at which point I reckon you could make up to 100k or maybe just under.

He's not as high as he really should be right now because he's low in the pecking order for a TOTGS card which is all people are thinking about right now.

With the way City are playing and considering he's one of the first names on the team sheet (played in all matches and started the last 9 non EFL cup games for City) I'd say he's a sure bet for an IF quite quickly. Especially as he's due one now because he's the only City attacker without an IF.

Always going to be tough, it was a shootout between Sane and KDB (who has had an IF unlike Sane which counts against him) and there's too much crossover there.

Both City players and both used to play in the Bundesliga.

So profit margins were going to be tight as people could largely double up so a lot more people planned for it.

POTM is short term, PTG is for the long term.

But one IF and you'll be able to sell the PTG for profit. He also might be in the TOTGS (I think he needs more from his final two group games) and they give an extra bonus.

If you're only interested in getting the best player, than go for the POTM. If you want to make some coins and potentially see a bigger boost down the line go for PTG.

I've heard that Schmeichel is dreadful. Sergio Rico does just fine for me. Never lets anything in he shouldn't and saves a few he has no right to. 300+ games and counting with the legend.

Van Der Sar and De Gea are the studs in the game.

I use De Gea's standard card and he's the best keeper I've used. The foot save trait is amazing, so many 'unsavable' shots are saved by him because of those animations.

IF stands for In form. They are cards that get boosted when the player in real life comes into form. OTW stands for One To Watch. They are for players who have moved to new clubs. Im not sure how they work with boosts.

That's this week's squad battles done, finishing around the 65,000 mark for a firm Elite 2 finish. Had the luxury of playing the last four games on professional difficulty and loved bringing Sane on as the centre back that goes forward when ultra attacking, absolute beast. Sane and Promes are the bench players for these two squads that I've been rocking for a while now.

Gignac in for Ben Yedder - Real shame to see the legend go out of the side and with 159 goals and 148 assists in 177 games he's definitely my most successful outfield player. I needed more presence up front though and I'm hoping Gignac provides that. He's so big he actually looks fat on screen and isn't that immobile.

Alessandrini in for Dembele - With Dembele shifting to the second team for chemistry reasons this is effectively a swap for Williams, my second most successful outfield player. Other thoughts are around getting rid of Goretzke for OTW Tolisso to maximise Alessandrini's chem, but we'll see how we go for now.

Bakambu in for Aspas - Really liked Aspas' movement, but his left-footed/3 star weak footedness really pissed me off at times. Had a clean Bakumbu in the club and was saving him to sell for inflated coins, but let's give him a whirl instead. Should offer much more presence, albeit with added clunkiness.

Sansone in for Deulofeu - The latter was just getting drowned out far too much on legendary games. I'll put him back in when the boost is activated, but quite like the look of Sansone in the meantime.

Played one game with the new 1st team against the totw on professional difficulty and battered them 10-0, but that game is always pretty easy so we'll see how we do on some legendary SB games tonight.

I'm sat on over 3m now, but I've kept them for a couple of reasons. Firstly to maximise what I can buy when the first crash happens and secondly to experience using a few different players.

Really frustrating 5 games.

Won the featured game 3-2, but only on pro and we were dogshit, having to resort to a last minute winner via the Sane the ultra attacking centre back tactic. Then we played a 65 rated 36 chemistry side on legendary and laboured to a 2-0 win, missing loads of chances in the first 20 minutes. After that came a 3-2 win (again on legendary) against a pretty good team (IF Jesus, Aguero & Erisken), before the most frustrating game ever where I got so fucked over in extra time it was unreal. Finished up with a good 4-1 against a cracking 87 rated side, but they went down to 10 men after half an hour so that was pretty routine.

So 3 wins out of 4 on legendary, but an average of 1,686 points so far isn't good enough to get any better than Elite 2 again.

In terms of new players. Bakambu is pretty good, as is Sansone. Alessandrini is a beast, (but I really struggle with left footed players) and Gignac is the definition of a lummox, but finishes everything that comes near him.

Feels like a bit of a crossroads at the moment and seriously tempted to list almost everyone of high-ish value in the two teams above and just plough the proceeds into a stonking team after next Monday. I really need a cracking striker.

Decided to carry on and play the next four games, which would usually be a bad idea having come off a frustrating run, but it worked a treat. 6-2, 3-0, 4-2 and 3-1 wins all on legendary for my first 9,000+ point round.

Team A - That I currently use in SB. Goretza is a monster. His cant miss when it comes to long shots. Draxler needs an upgrade. He isnt a good enough dribbler to be in the starting line up. He is quite slow. Muller scores so many tap-ins. Just being in the right place at the right time. In order to play on the higher difficulties, i think i may have to change formation and go to the 4321 with the LF and RF. I dont like to use it as I could defend probably with it, but i may need to go down that route. I really need to start buying IF players as i hear kimmich and others are so good.

So i moved to the 4321 formation and decided to play against the hardest opponent possible on my SB update which was an 86 rated, 100 chemistry team on world class and this happened.

Total domination apart from the scoreline. I was wasteful. The correct instructions make a huge difference from the previous instructions i was using with this formation. I used the following previous instructions

CM - Default
RCM - Stay back while attacking, stand on edge of box for crosses
LCM - Default

I found that when i used this, the RCM who is the more defensive player wouldn't play the busquets role. He would be on the edge of the box waiting to receive the ball. I made some changes and now play the follow instructions and it plays exactly how i want it too

CM - Get forward, get in box for crosses
RCM - Stay back while attacking
LCM - Stand on edge of box for crosses

Always takes a few days for the ultra-rare NIF players to deflate as they’re not being packed en masse. Also, no prior experience of this, but I’ll speculatively hypothesise - everyone spent their cash and coins on the promo packs, which have now disappeared, so less packs are being opened.

There’s just far more complexity in the market now due to SBCs, and the bigger rewards through FUT Champs, daily rewards, SB etc. Where once (prior to 17) the market simply saw slow deflation throughout the year, with spikes in individual prices caused by TOTW, we now have a complex beast. Even the likes of OTW and PTG cards deflating standard IF cards for those players has had a big impact.

I for one am a fan. Was a far more casual FUT player until last year shaped the economy so and basically encouraged a club building strategy.

Bring in De Gea, Bailly, Messi, Suarez, which will still leave me with a decent chunk of coins to keep going with.

Spunk the lot on one absolute superstar, which will keep me motivated to earn more coins to improve the other positions.

Did the ligue 1 SBC last night without having to buy anyone. Probably won’t use Cavani but a 90 rated SBC player is handy for TOTS and Icon SBCs and the 20k coins and 20 packs was more alluring than selling up players as the requirements being so easy this year means players aren’t soaring in value as they did last year. Still left myself plenty of surplus players some of which I sold for about 1-2k and others kept for MM’s etc.

Pulled Eriksen, Thiago and a couple of shite TOTWs from the packs. Probably made 250k from the lot with 100 odd players added to the club, so I’m happy with that. It’s allowed me to buy De Gea (replacing my IF Adan in one side and Lloris in the other, selling both netted another 115k), SIF Sterling (replacing his first IF, which sold for 95k) and I’m now 40k off replacing Goretzka with his in-form version.

Market crash definitely hasn’t happened. I made profit on all three major sales - Sterling went for 10k more than I bought him for a fortnight ago, same for Lloris and Adan netted about 5k profit. IF Goretzka meanwhile is 40k more expensive than he was before Black Friday.

Depends how far out of position and using loyal players in those out of position spots. Need one more natural player though - if you can get 8 x 10 chem and 3 x 6 chem then all good. Unfortunately I can’t take advantage as I only have centre mids left.

In general though, I use a lot of players out of position. CDMs as CDs are a favourite. As well as full backs on opposing sides.

Yeah Bayern was the only club I am worried about but like you said it shouldnt be too bad. I think I have every other team covered in a pretty basic 4-4-2 for about 65k.

I just have two squads. Same keeper in both (de Gea) who just needs a fitness card every ten games, and so have all ten outfield from squad A in the subs and reserves of squad B and vice versa with two dedicated subs. Last year it was essential as I’d then make 10k+ every week from fitness and injury cards from packs I got from MM and Fut Champs rewards. Now the price of those has halved, its less profitable but I still do it. Also gives me more freedom to expiriment with players as I’ve 5 different leagues across my two squads so it’s simpler to find space for a desirable player.

Go straight to Legendary Sincere, there's very little difference between that and World Class and the points difference is huge.


I actually find legendary slightly easier.


Played my first match on legendary against a respectable 83 rated team and won 5-2. That wasn't too hard.


Lost 3-0 to a 79 rated side with 52 chemistry. Now that's what I expected legendary to be like. They pummeled me 10-2 in shots. The sort of goals the AI scores on legendary is just insane. Could try 100 times wouldn't score once like them.

I find it depends almost entirely how the custom tactics have been set. The more they close you down the harder it is. I struggle against heavily defensive led formations as well.
