Favourite for now is to get the 84 Ake and IF Zeegelaar on the left but I'm open to all suggestions.

My second team is an entirely IF Eredivisie side, with the exception of one of my centre backs because there's only been one centre back in that league who's had an IF this season, and the cunt's had three of them. SIF Lozano is ludicrous.

I've changed my formation now. I play the 4222 with two CDMs and two wide CAMs. One of the two ST, I play him as a false 9 with free role and one of the CDMs I put as get forward. Its such a good system to play. The CDM turns into a box to box midfielder but because he is a CDM, his high defensive work rate puts him back in position nicely. The false 9 ST, drops into the space every time you go forward which seems to work better as a normal CAM. The two wide CAMS also seem to play infield more, compared to the 4231 I've been playing for the past four months.

I have sold 99% of the cards that had any value. The Belgium and Australia league SBC were disappointing, as the special cards are not that popular but I've sold all the players I had from these league as I had them all. I've got 3.5m now.

Okay I've got on and done my usual, set my kits/ball/stadium up. Put my coin boosts on and played 3 games with my starter pack shit.

I've got 8k coins and earned a FUT Swap Phil Jones(?). He looks unusable really so I guess I should trade him in. Some of the higher cards you can trade for looks pretty awesome considering they appear to be free(rewards for in-game tasks). Unfortunately me starting so late makes it look like I'll only be able to get a max of 4 of those swaps. This leaves me likely limited to Balde Keita, Henderson or Wendell. Outside chance of Koke, Cazorla or Payet.

He doesn't fit into either of my sides and a side built around him would essentially have to be a full Premiership side, in which I have no interest, but those stats are a bargain for that price all the same.

Chances are most of his appearances will be in place of Tielemans in games where his lack of pace becomes an issue.

I've had a little look around and decided to go Dutch. Most of the bog standard players are almost discard value and look serviceable enough. I'll end up getting Balde Keita in as a super sub to solve the striker problem there too.

I have an all IF midfield of Pereiro, Ziyech, and I've turned Labyad into a CM with an Engine card. Labyad is like Lampard for arriving late in the area and smashing one in the corner.

You'd get away with that if the other two midfielders were Labyad and Ziyech. They get a strong link so you'd stay on full chemistry.

I've just put in Viergiver with an Anchor as my RCB. He works nicely enough until the TOTS comes out. Hopefully they don't do some dodgy joint team and fill the defence with Belgians or something.

Up to 17k coins now and looking at the DKT. Unfortunately it's one with requirements. 3 max from one league in the squad. Probably not going to be able to do that and have enough quality to win the thing.

Ended up with a team with Lemar, Mbappe and Berardi up front. However it shows I spent little on the defence/midfield. Gave the DKT a go but 2 losses in the semi finals was enough for me. I was heavily punching above my weight.

I've sold them all back on and now sit with just over 40k. I've also completed the 2nd FUT Swap challenge during that and so can get Keita whenever I wish. Looks like a fun card. I can grind offline some more, but not for much longer. Finding a random Pirlo in my club also helped the funds(8k coins).

POTY Sessegnon is only a few thousand more than what I have now and looks a tasty card, but I don't think he'd fit in with many squads.

Beyond that, whilst I prepare for another crack at the DKT next week, is it worth my time going into squad battles? Looks like some decent rewards in there, but I've no idea how hard it is to get them.

Squad Battles are well worth the time. It's piss easy to get some decent rewards. I got very little to play last week, I think I played six games total, and I got several thousand coins and three gold packs, two of them Premium, out of it.

I play on Legendary and find getting Elite 1 to be a slog as I need to play nearly all of the 45 games available to do so, but Elite 2 is more than manageable and you still get two mega-packs and 25k for that.

I find that the press crazy once they are losing late in the game. You need quick 1-2s to counter this tactic. I'm tired of the AI and online opponents sprinting at me full speed when I have the ball. Surely the players workrates should take this into consideration and should be heavily impacted on stamina.

55,873 points from 25 games, for a 2,234 point average. If this form keeps up I could all but secure Elite 1 with a day to spare and (while I won't finish there) if I get my games in early I might even hit the top 100 for a while.

That looks like a carbon copy of his TOTS card from last season. He actually has over 90 sprint speed but his acceleration/agility brings his pace stat down. You can use him however you want. As a battering ram, in behind threat, anything. It's bloody great. I'm assuming he's the same this time around.

Don't mind myself too much which league, though in truth I've never got on with La Liga. BPL or mostly Serie A are my usual ways to go. The Red Mertens and POTM Son I got at the end of last FIFA were my favourite cards on it, so using them again makes sense to build towards.

Ideally want something that can win me games on SB but wont show me up if I give the DKT a go.

I can just about afford this. Good pace on the front 3. Good workrates on the midfield although not likely to be a lot of goals. I could always swap out someone for a Lingard if I need better shooting there. Defence isn't the best on the left, but beggars can't be choosers.

If you're using that formation Son is the man for LF. His standard card costs buttons, but stick a Hawk card on him and he feels like a TOTS player. I can't overstate how useful a five star weak foot is in this version.

Would mean using a different striker, but Son will be your primary goalscorer anyway.

I was using Mané to give Keita some chemistry. I've got to Silver 1 on Squad Battles and then stopped. I'll carry on again and maybe hit Gold 2. I'm on Professional difficulty and so gaining just over 1,000 points per game. Might bump it up to World Class to see how it goes. That gives a 1.6 multiplier over the 1.0 you get from Professional.
The 20 games through the week will most likely see me to Gold 2/1. That seems to be about the best value you can get unless you want to get in on that weekend grind too.

I did not like the feel of the formation or squad at all. Defence feels way too open and the front 3 felt isolated. I'd use some players again, Bailly and Dembele as well as Gueye felt pretty good. Keita also felt very good.

Might have to switch up to a 4-1-2-1-2 or a 4-3-1-2 see if I like them any better.

The only weakness I'm seeing is Lukaku at left back, however that could eventually be fixed by adding an Alex Sandro later on. Plenty of room for upgrades and IF cards about too. I could even afford it now if I was lucky.

What are we expecting prices to drop by next week (TOTS)? I have never played FUT during TOTS release.

I am tempted to shift the expensive players in my squad and buy them back next week (Aguero, Hazard, Kante, Sanchez). I currently have 78K and I'm trying to save for Pogba.

If I am only going to make a few thousand I won't bother.

Well I'd say the prices are already tumbling. That 2nd squad I posted above for example, you could go at that with 200k coins and come back with a lot of change.

On Xbox for example, Aguero has dropped 20k inside the last week, Pogba 18k, Kante 10k and Sanchez hasn't really budged. The problem you have is 2 fold now. This version has players still very valuable at this point in the game, due to everyone being able to get coins pretty easily. I've earned 70k in 3 or 4 days just through the start up boosts.

Your other problem is with TOTS last season came SBCs to get them as well of End of an Era SBCs. This kept the big players high in value. Unless you wish to make a new team I'd personally keep them.

In FIFAs before 17 the TOTS drop would destroy the market. They've gotten a lot smarter at prolonging the game and providing content now. They pretty much just gave anyone who had patience a free 91 rated striker Sanchez for example.

If i play every game possible, i finish elite one with about 80k. To get into the top 100, when i did the maths for myself. I needed to average about 2600 points per game as an average which for me is about 400 points extra per game. Not happening.

Playing the morning games on weekend between 12am and 8am is a massaive headache. They should just remove the time restrictions on the weekend.

Yeah, you need to average about 2,500 ppg to get top 100 and I've hit just under 2,300 there.

Unless I face a seriously shit team the number of points I hit comes down almost entirely down to the custom tactics of the opposition, with anyone remotely open generally getting tonked and those teams that somehow manage to simultaneously park the bus and press you like fuck being the right pain in the arse.

I'm not going to be able to play anything like 45 games this week, so I might have a go on Ultimate when I do get back on and see if that's a better route to try and crack the 100. To do it on Legendary you basically need to score 5 in every game and then piss about maxing out the other skill point factors, which looks pretty tedious.

Went on to sell up my team to build that 2nd one I posted up a bit. Good thing I did, I'd slid back out of Gold 2 into 3. I'd no idea the point system was dynamic. Threw together the forwards and right half of the team, just need the Bundesliga lot now. Put in an extra 2 wins to get me just over 15k points. I didn't have enough games left to chase Gold 1. Raja really is my favourite player on FIFA.

I might go full on at it next week, but like SincereTheRebel says it's those weekend games. The only way around that is to stack them. Finish the 4pm-midnight games in the last hour, stick around until Midnight to collect the updated squads and then go to bed. Do them in the 8am-4pm slot, then update the squads and do them too. You're going to need a good 2 hours each morning, but you'll get the games played.

I'm in 2 minds if to do this or try the weekend league.

I'd advise people not to rush into this. Salah and Sane will both have these exact cards released in the PL TOTS. They'll be tradeable too.

I wouldn't bother doing those sane or salah cards. Give it a month and you can get a tradable team of the year version for about half a million.

I will say Salah and Mane affected my game in that way a little. It may well be why I didn't get on with them, constantly trying to force them onto their stronger foot. Their weak foot is terrible.

I've also noticed the bog standard low driven into the opposite corner no longer works 99% of the time. It's probably closer to 70% now. More than the odd one has flown by the post.
I also see they still have done nothing to make fitness cards cheaper. Over 1,000 coins just for a bronze squad fitness is a little steep.

I didn't get anything in my SB rewards, but the boost to coins is nice. There's a nice little calculator here (https://www.futhead.com/squad-battles/week-30/) that shows you how many games you really need to play to get to a level.

I earn roughly 1,600 points a game, so I'd need the full 45 to be talking Elite 1 at this point. However if I set my sights a little lower, I could well make a push to Elite 2. Same pack rewards but 14k less coins. I'd need about 30 games to get that. If you assume the 4 a day plus the featured squad, I'd only have to find time for 9 games at the weekend. No need to stay up all hours.

The alternative, is to go and retry the DKT. Play 22 games of SB(that should see me to Elite 3) and give the weekend league a go instead. They've reduced the number needed to re-qualify for next week from 18 wins down to 11 now. Which is good as I don't see me being able to do a full 40 games in this version.

One of the above should see a nice steady flow of coins coming my way for now. As I've said before, a shame I didn't get back into this a month or so ago.

Depends if you shift him in game or not. Eriksen is a bit wasted on the outside with that passing, dribbling and shooting, but low pace. A hunter card sorts him out a bit, but you want him in the middle really.

The addition of Radja has really put some confidence into my midfield. I ended up winning 4-2 and then three, 4-0 wins. There are limitations with the team, for example Willian and Jesus are often bullied off the ball but don't have the all out pace to get by either. But I'm doing alright with them for now.
I've crept back over 30k coins and could now afford Alaba, however reading up tells me Alex Sandro is a much better left back. I wouldn't mind either, but the latter would cause a big rethink in the left side of the team.

Nope. The Premier League gets POTM award SBCs as well. The only SBC for other leagues you tend to get is for their previous years top scorer or best player. Like Griezmann for La Liga.

They've released another FUT swap card SBC to do. Costs about 8k and you get a premium gold pack back with it. It expires 16 hours from now, so worth doing ASAP.

The FUT Swap deals themselves run out in 40 hours. If I do the above mentioned SBC I'll have 3 cards to trade, assuming there are no more. That means I can have a Wendell or a Henderson, plus the one for a premium gold pack. Or I could just have one rare gold pack. If I they brought out another swap card I'd trade for Payet at 4, but that doesn't seem likely.

The POTY Sessegnon is also ending in 40 hours and is now down to 40k or so to do. It's tempting me a lot to do due to how cheap the card is. I'll have to decide pretty much Friday morning. I'll be at work all day Friday so I've no chance to leave it late.

Ive added Reus who is pure fire. I probably am going to transition to the elite cards now during the next month or so. Its about that time. Ive also added Muller MOTM 90 which is a little bit that his gold. Lewa has been good, but I want to upgqrade to his highest inform or his TOTY if it comes out. Ive tried Batsman and Wenrer in that postion, but I don't think them at all. Strength > Pace with my playstyle and Lewa in this system is just better. I did have Birthday Marinez 88 as a CDM but he wasn't special at all. I thought the Medium/Medium work rates would have been good, but FUTMANs Junc 82 is 1000x times better. He makes so many interceptions and that is exactly what I need him for.

To be fair that's quality of them. The actual content in each FIFA gets better and better. Just a shame the gameplay isnt always there.

Callejon was a free reward last year too. If he's anything the same, that 2* WF is very limiting, but is a usable right winger. This time last year I'd got my POTM Son which helped me to win all these DKT reward players.

I'd advise all to complete as many as they can. Even if you don't plan on using them, they are high rated cards that are free. They are worth their weight in gold in some of these SBCs.

That Lopez reward looks a good super sub too.

I've managed to up the difficulty to Legendary now. Gets me 2,500 points with a good win. I could actually challenge Elite 1 if I had that pace all week. On 38,000 points now and on average, another 10,000 would see you into Elite 2 so I may play 5 or 6 games more to make sure of the finish and then stop.

I did trade my last swap player in for the premium gold pack and ended up packing 85 Salah. The only problem is because so many packs are being opened his price is constantly moving down. So he's come down 5k in the last 2 hours alone.

I'm sat on a nice 70k now. If Salah gets near his current worth that'll be nearer 90k. I'm not quite sure what to do next. The problem with a multi-league hybrid is it doesn't leave much room to swap and change.

Since I added 89 TOTY bender to my team I'm getting slaughtered. Not by a few goals either. I'm conceding 3+ goals a game now. Won two of the last eight squad battle games on legendary. I'm looking for an excuse and someone to blame. Either
a) there is a reward for winning four games on world class or better so they have made things more difficult
b) my overall squad rating with bender has now increased from 86 to 87. AI are aware of this and have increase the difficult based on my new squad rating
C) all of the above

I've found it easier for whatever reason since moving up to legendary. The only thing that causes me difficulty is David De Gea. He's a bastard for denying me points.

54,000 points now. Which is decently into Elite 1. I'm already pretty much guaranteed Elite 2 already. It's usually 76,000 points or so for Elite 1. I could in theory do it with 10 more matches or so.

I've noticed if Legendary AI isn't winning with about 70 mins on the clock, they'll go almost all out attack. You can pick them apart on the break easily.

I've unlocked and used that Lopez. 6 goals after coming on at half time. :p I've not used much more than what I have in the team now(same team I posted before) but he feels like the best card I've used so far. Very quick off the mark and a reliable finish on him.

I'm very interested in that Diego Jota card from the EFL TOTS. The Bryan card would link nicely to Sessegnon too. I massively regret not doing his SBC now. It was doable for 35k and now costs 90k.

Normal service resumed. Gameplay feels completely different from yesterday. I made some changes to my tactics. I now play pressure on 60 (previously 25) and aggression on 50 (previously 30). I never could win the ball back from the AI in there defensive third so I was better off playing really deep and trying to steal the ball around my box. After making the changes, I can regain possession in my attacking third better now and the gap between my defensive line and defensive midfielders has now decreased.

You can, but only if their standard version is Silver. As you occasionally get a silver item in Bronze packs as the rare item, you could then technically get a gold TOTS card from a Bronze pack. It'll be rare though.

None of the tots cards are still rated 64 or under, but Nepenthez reckons you can pull Akinfenwa (79) from a bronze pack, for example and if you can pull him you should be able to pull the rest.

It's not the rating that seems to determine it, more the type of card it is. Special cards do not count as any other type, not gold/silver/bronze, not even rare. So as an example when you are assigned a pack. Let's say Bronze for arguments sake. You get assigned the current version of the base cards according to the server.

So Akinfenwa would normally be Bronze. If you then open a bronze pack and get assigned him whilst he has a TOTS item out, you'll get that regarding of what it got rated.

Well in short yes you can. You can pull a TOTS player from a bronze, silver or gold pack. A bronze player that has a TOTS card is available in a bronze pack.

This is kind of fun. Griezmann gets bullied but scores goals. Iniesta is sadly ineffectual. I have ended up taking off Iniesta and Lopez and playing the second half with Rashford and Sessegnon outside of Griezmann.

Picked up a MotM van Persie as he discards for 500 coins fewer than his BiN.

Opened my SB rewards and got bobbins. Maybe about 200k now after all is sold, but did get 5 or 6 fitness cards. Used the players gained and Akinfenwa to fill out the most consistent SBC.

Ended up pulling Giovinco. High rated which is good and also looks a fantastic CAM. Only problem is linking him up is a bit tough. You essentially have to go through Alessandrini RF and then use an Italian LF, or use an all Italian front half of the team.

Now I'm looking to build a team to take on the DKT. I'd quite like that TOTS Callejon.

Use Giovinco as a sub if you cant fit him in. One of the worst things to do in my opinion, is trying to fit players you have into a system by trying to link him to plays you don't want to play with.

I purchased Pogba (87) a couple of days ago and ended up selling him after 15 or so games, I didn't notice too much difference from my 85 Fernandinho.

Bailly and Valencia are solid. I have tried every standard Premiership CB and Bailly is still my favourite, wouldn't mind trying the 84 Kolasinic.

I took it into the DKT to see how things were and my god everyone has had a lot of coins this year it seems. On my 3rd attempt I went 1-0 up in the semi-final through a bicycle kick from a corner. I double tapped my xbox button to record it(it's what you did on 17) as it was awesome. Well apparently that disconnects you from the game instantly. Fuming.

Luckily took it on my 4th attempt. Managed to come back from 4-2 down in the 85th of the semi-final and nick it in extra time. This guy had at least 6 prime icons too.

After fudging my team to get Alex Sandro in, I can't say I noticed too much of anything more than blind luck in defence. As my games finished 3-0(rage quit), 7-6, 5-4 and 7-5.
Callejon looks a good face card, but the weak foot and skill moves kill him a bit. Another high rated card for SBCs though.

Managed to get in.

Gullit is bloody bonkers. He scored two including a proper thunderbolt and was pretty much everywhere.

I need to get used to Petit at CDM as he's not as good as Vieira as he pushes up too much, I might bring Baby Vieira in if it causes too many issues.

Rabiot looks like a steal for 200k on paper but I just couldn't get him. I'm hoping that's just that game as he looks like he could be fun.

FIFA 18 having a World Cup mode patched into the game for free put into stark realization how much money they're making from FUT. They must have sold at least a million copies of that on each release, with a incredibly conservative $25 take thats 25 million with minimal development time/cost left on the table, just to ensure that the playerbase isn't split and card sales keep going. A good 20 million dollar profit not being worth it is just insane.
