I'm not convinced I've actually ever knowingly listened to any beatles songs.

I don't recognise the names of any of the ones listed above. Should I have?

Based entirely is on the amount of listens of my iTunes:

1) Hey Bulldog
2) Rain
3) Let It Be
4) Dear Prudence
5) Help!

Weirdly I'd drop the top two of those if I was actually choosing them. I'd probably add something like Two of Us or Across the Universe. I actually think their peak is the Abbey Road medley, but I suppose I can't have that.

Fuck knows. off the top of my head:

Hello goodbye, Norwegian wood, In My Life, Eleanor Rigby, Here Comes the Sun.

Tough one because for me they're a band with lots of good songs that I like, but I don't really love any of them. I think people who say they're shit are just being edgy try-hard iconoclasts, and I wouldn't even say they're overrated - they're obviously fucking great - but I definitely understand and sort of agree with people who are a bit indifferent towards em.

My favourites in alphabetical order:

A Day In The Life
Eleanor Rigby
Here Comes The Sun
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Yesterday

The only song I'd be gutted to lose if someone told me "You can never listen to this again in your life" is Yesterday.

I've always thought there must be something essentially wrong with people who don't at least like the Beatles.

I remember being astonished to find out that 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' was a Beatles song after it appeared on some animated thing on NewGrounds in about 2002. It's a million miles away from everything else they ever made, and for that reason it's my favourite even though it's basically a fairly shady novelty track.

Weirdly, you're not the first person I've heard to express this sentiment. :cab:

Hey Jude is fucking terrible.

Guitar Gently Weeps is the one I'd say I never get tired of, but there are loads of hidden gems around the albums. I've always liked 'Cry Baby Cry'.

+1 on Hey Jude.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is fucking dross too. Srsly, McCartney wrote so much sappy bullshit which everyone sadly still laps up.

Lennon and Harrison delivered 90% of the Beatles greatest songs.

The worst thing McCartney ever did for his reputation was outliving the other 2
