I'm gonna be working in London (til mid September). Holed up in Shoreditch with all the Bangladeshis. Nah i have a room in my friends flat that he's subletting and it looks pretty clean and modern so I'll be safe, but in any case, outside of work, my 1 flatmate who i don't know, and maybe 3-4 people I know scattered around London i'll be pretty much soloing my days away. If anyone wants to chill and drink or go do whack shit just hit me up i'm down in the afterhours.

Ok lads, so what tier Oystee/travelcard should i get? Mind you i'm here for two months and will be commuting most every day. I refuse to accept that 130 pound for a one-month Oystercard is the cheapest way to get around. If it is then i'm gonna terrorize Shoreditch while i'm here, what a fckin joke

Actually, that said, not sure if you need a UK account for that. But auto or manual top up, you just pay for what you use.

@ Mok - the thing you need to figure out is which zones you're going to be in. Where are you staying? If it's just Shoreditch then a Zone 1-2(?) monthly travel card will be fine. This gives you access to Tubes + Buses. You can then chuck on some spare cash to cover if you go outside of that zone.

Yeah the monthly comes out to 126 - which is absurd honestly.

It's a £6.60 daily cap on Oyster. I'd go that unless you're doing heavy travel every day.

You'd also be surprised how walkable London is for the shorter journeys. The tube map makes it seem a lot bigger than it really is.
