Obviously its a very sad story, but are you interested in the slightest?

I mean I 'care' about any child who dies of cancer, but it is weird how it's become such a big story.
It's very sad, I briefly felt actual something approaching actual sadness while I was reading about it but it's hard to not be detached when it's somebody you don't know.

I find it strange that people almost choose to emotionally invest in a dying child. I don't enjoy it when people I care about die.

Well, I care on some level. As a parent I obviously find it easy to empathise in such a situation, but I won't remember it this time next month. Nor, I imagine, will all those 'crying' on my Facebook.

I've followed his events a bit with him being a Sunderland fan, and it being quite unavoidable when posting on the Sunderland board. So I care a bit more in that sense, but I have found it a tiny bit odd that so much has been made of this particular case.

I care insofar as it's never nice when a young child dies, but I can't really invest beyond that.
It's sad, of course and working with kids you say 'what if it was one of the kids I know'
Past that though it hasn't been something I've thought about and it's had no impact on my day.

Certainly don't think it needs to be BBC's main headline right now.

I must get a different BBC news feed because Trumputin is top of mine and it's not mentioned in the next thirteen headlines on the main page either.

The sport side ran with "DEFOE TEARFUL WHEN SPEAKING ABOUT BRADLEY" as their main headline yesterday as well.

This is mine. And no mention further down either.

'He achieved a great deal in his short life' says the BBC news. Well, he didn't.
It's a fucking shame that a little boy has died after having had his whole life consumed by a disease, but the way all of football seemed to be given over to him for the last year you'd think he was the only kid it'd ever happened to. Imagine being a kid with that same illness watching him on TV meeting all the people you'd love to meet and wondering why nobody gives a fuck about you.
His mum got on my nerves with a social media post a few weeks ago too. They'd cancelled a visit from Defoe because Bradley was feeling too ill and didn't want his mate to see him that way, so she'd taken a photo of him in that state and put it out so everyone could see him that way.
So yeah, he seemed like a lovely kid and it's an utter sin for him, but all the shit surrounding him is baffling and a bit irritating.

Remember when Jermain Defoe posted a job advert wanting somebody to run his errands and wipe his arse and build his global brand? I'm not saying this was part of that, because he actually looked bothered on the news, but I've just remembered it.
And I'm devastated by it.

Great career move by Defoe though.

"My brave boy has went with the angels today."
Surely this should be "gone"?
I'm a little sad about it. It's a tragic story for someone so young to have to suffer.
But plenty of people end up supporting Sunderland so you can't be too sympathetic.

This would generate unrivaled amounts of seethe on twitter. You should tweet his mum.

Sums it up better than the "No" I was going to go with.
Same with that Gard kid. The treatment might save him like it did that kid who's Dad was on the news the other day but what is life as a potato?
Wow, wasn't expecting so many 'no' votes. Oh dear, TTH.
As for me, I don't have a single fibre of empathy in me so it's an easy no. Got a bit annoying how every talkSPORT caller yesterday would be like 'first of all can I just say my thoughts are with Bradley's family... now then, Rafa should take Mike Ashley on the razz and then ask for transfers to be done there and then like, hahaha, you know man?'

Very, very sad. Surprised at you lot knocking him and I've heard talk of a posthumous knighthood which I'd support.

You're rather fucked up. Ofcourse it could have been any kid but it also raised awareness and funds for various charities.
You don't wish it on anyone especially a kid who hasn't even lived. Shameful.
