De Bruyne is in the "Midfield-orchestrator" riskzone, looks like Guardiola kind of want to make him his Xavi.
He does all the key passes, but never the final ones; in true Barcelona-ca-2008-style it looks like 75% of Citys goals this year will be tap-ins.

I can see why they've gone for the draft league (basically a total rip-off of the maniacally followed American football fantasy phenomenon, seriously read our thread, it's like a self-help group) but I'm not really sure it works in association football for that very reason. There aren't enough high-performing players in soccer to make it worthwhile, and unlike gridiron the points system is either/or, you don't get the odd yard here or there helping. 80% of Premier League players are dreck who will bring in 2 points max.

Indeed. Drafting needs a massive pool of regularly used talent, which just doesn't exist in football.

I think to make it work they would have to adopt a more individual performance points system (like the one I recall Yahoo used) whereby individual players can gather a lot more points than in the fpl system (which works fine for a non-draft format as everyone can have a decent forward or two). As it is, you're likely to get molested by a marquee forward most weeks, and there about about 3 of them.

This is true, but as you can't double up on chips you need a fair few doubles to make use of all of them in that way. I don't know if you can combine the freehit and another chip (as the freehit one is played in the transfer screen rather than the selection one) - I feel the freehit will be very useful for a (late season) double week - but whether it's any better than the others I don't know. The triple captain feels like the best, but it's probably the worst/riskiest.

I've got some 4.5m ranked no mark who has obviously forgotten about the game. Would have just sneaked past him 49-47 last week. :face:

My team value is 102.1m while this guys is 98. With bench boost active, something mental is going to have to happen for me to be beaten.

The people who come top 100 in the world must have databases and spreadsheets to generate probabilities etc. They'll know that statistically you should use the bench boost in week 22 and the free hit in week 10.
