Kick off in ten minutes with Sweden vs England. It is on Sky Sports 1 and perhaps Eurosport (or they might only have the latter stages onwards)

It's being held in Poland and these are the teams involved.

Group A: England, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden
Group B: FYR Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, Spain
Group C: Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy

That's 12 teams so best runner-up gets a spot in the last four, naturally.

These are the squads:

These are the line-ups for the England game:

Tammy Abraham 43/23 for Bristol City vs Gustav Engvall 40 minutes for Bristol City and back to Djurgarden.

2-0 Sweden for me.

Sweden can't kick a ball.

We might as well import the u20 side and fucking pray to god if we don't win this whole thing.

on Sweden +1 hehe

Pickford penalty save to keep it goalless. Thirty million, mate.

The Swedish player tries to lean on Baker, so Baker just moves so the swede falls over - the Lino (2 metres away) correctly plays on, yet the ref (30 metres away) gives the Swedes a free-kick. Simple fucking decisions like that, and the ref still gets them wrong.
The Swede right back has also committed about 15 fouls, half of which have been bookable offences- yet fuck all.

The second half was dreadful. England were awful and it's probably symptomatic of the shit manager.

John

Saul Niguez has just scored an overhead kick. Not a great one, it was straight at the goalkeeper who fluffed it, but it's still and overheader.

Every player in the Spain team is a regular in a top four league.

John

Now Asensio has scored a fucking missile from three miles out.

I can't see Portugal getting out of Spain's group. You would think it's a shootout between and England and Slovakia to top Group A.

Asensio hat trick. The level is a little beneath him but what a player.

"There's nothing worse than being five nil down and a team passing it around like this, so you're just chasing shadows" says the man on comms, following it up with "thankfully I've never been in that position, but I can't imagine it's nice."

Just pure speculation then, mate. Good stuff.

Still not quite sure why Rashford is not with the England team (hi, Jose), especially as he only started 16 league games last season (according to the commentator on my stream).

The Spain squad is superb, Italy and Portugal both look to have chosen full-strength squads, too.

John Arne

Also, I'm going to make a prediction that Calum Chambers will be playing in the Championship (or League One) in a couple of years.

It was ridiculous - every shot just looked so half-arsed, yet flew into the top corner.

Going well this for the English. 135 minutes and no goals.

Toothpaste at RB looks like he's getting a bit sick of it too.

They've barely had a chance in either game as well. Danger has only been from set pieces and long range pot shots. Proper shit.

Lewis Baker is absolute nothing player. No idea why is he starting every game for England.

John Arne

Good win that, but England really aren't very good.

England playing Germany in the Semi Finals :D

Winning the Under 20's World Cup, in the Semi Final for the Under 21's. England has some great youth coming through, it's a shame they will all either not make it into the first team or shit the bed when they do like the rest of the useless cunts.

But fuck if, they'll get 30k+ a week anyway so why does it matter.

Winston bogarde was a trend setter.

John Arne

England have started well against Germany. A stonewall penalty turned down, too.

Fucking hell, Calum Chambers :face:

Get Big Sam back in charge of things.

Good goal, that. Once again, Ward-Prowse's delivery has been absolutely phenomenal.

John Arne

England have dropped way too deep, and that goal was inevitable.

Lewis Baker has again been completely anonymous.

Christ England look wank.

Considering how much damage Pep mate stats have done to the concept of shooting from range I'm amazed anyone is allowed to try those corner to the edge of the box for a volley efforts. Them going in is a once in a generation thing.

John Arne
27-06-2017, 06:12 PM
Considering England had two more days rest - they look knackered compared to Jerry.

John Arne
27-06-2017, 06:16 PM
Does Bothroyd realise that he has an extra sub to use?? Get Baker off this pitch.

John Arne

That second half was awful from the "game management" point of view. Dreadful.

I quite like the look of him. Seems a bit deranged, which is good in a 'keeper.

Saul doesn't score tap ins. He's also far too good for u21 football.

-james-
16-07-2017, 07:51 AM
I'm not sure what has gone on, but England have absolutely smashed it this summer.

England U17 - Lost the Euros Final on penalties
England U19 - Won the Euros
England U20 - Won the World Cup
England U20 - Won the Toulon Tournament
England U21 - Lost the Euros Semi on penalties

Seniors still get carried by club reputations. Juniors get saddled with the inexperience because they don't break into senior football at the top level.

-james-

It's fun watching people apply blanket narratives to these things. Jimmy had one about none of them giving a fuck when the u20s drew their first group game with Guinea.

Think about it, though. How many minutes is Woodman going to get behind Krul, Eliot and Darlow?
